Which screen is better: artists 15.6 pro or 16 pro ?
@@cheeseball8845 Photoshop is a paid software. If you're just learning, there are many free drawing software around. E.g. Krita, Mediabang Paint Pro. This product is actually a monitor so you need to connect to a computer. Power comes from the USB port which can be from your computer or the wall.
Great review! Just one note: You need to use a ruler for the jitter test, and turn pressure sensitivity off and on when you do it.
I am selling at 30 k.with warranty
Fantastic, thorough review. Best one I've seen yet. I've been considering buying this one so thanks Teoh!
Did you get one?
I find that for the price these tablets from xp-pen are quite a steal. I love your reviews!
Thanks for your support :-)
Any one want to purchase
Perfect just what I needed, while I wait for my 15.6 Pro to arrive. Very detailed and informative review. This will help me learn what needs to be done and etc before mine arrives.
I'm planning on getting one as well, since you've used it for a few days, what do you think about it?
@@fleon1269 Very good really, just as mentioned by most reviewers, it's amazing for the price you're paying. Software driver is good, drawing feeling is good, not much to complain really. If anything the pen button near the tip for mine is a bit too responsive, I accidently trigger it when I was just drawing. Pen calibration might need to be recalibrated sometimes. The display needs some calibration as well to match your main display, which is just a one time thing. The only really downside is the tablet stand that comes with it. It's just one angle which is a bummer. I bought the AC18 which is a lot better really.
Ok cool! I'll be looking forward to purchasing one soon~
love your reviews. Thank you for going to such extents to help us know the product better :)
The review im looking for. Really detailed. Now i really wanna have this display already. Gonna endure for now coz don't have 💵💰 yet.
great review 👍👍
Great Review Teoh, especially in explaining is detail....After i watched this video, maybe i want to buy this tablet quickly...Again, thank you very much Teoh
This solid video is primarily what convinced me to make my purchase of this product. Thanks.
Where it a good buy
Great review, thanks.
This tablet seems epic.
Getting one.
Also this review was really detailed and informative, tells me everything I need to know in advance. Thank you. ^^
Have you gotten it? How do you like it?
Great review. Thank you for doing this.
Thank you very much for this tutorial! Filming while drawing very close to the tablet and analysing how the tablet behaves and works is something I haven't found in any other review. I was very unsure if I had my tablet correctly working (I use Linux so it can be uncertain at times), but thanks to you I feel confident in saying nothing is wrong. The delayed input between digital pointer and the actual pen when drawing is not my computers fault. It's a quirk of the Xp Pen tablet.
Thank you so much for this review. Your thoughts and views are very balanced and measured, and crammed with all the info that I was looking for. After shopping around for a tablet for a while now, and browsing through various reviews online, I've finally decided to get this one because it's within my budget, desired that red dial (ha ha ha) and fulfills my requirements.
Great review, thank you!
Great explanation thank you 🙏🏽
thank you for this review !
Thank you for such in depth review
Seems like a nice pen display. I think it's worth the money. 👍 😄 Thanks for the excellent review Teoh.
This is a really nice video. Thanks!
This review helped me decide if i should get this tablet. I'm definitely ordering one very soon. I've never seen such a detailed review before, great job 😊❤️
Thanks :-) I try my best to include all necessary information.
How is it after a year
@@PinkSpeares it works like new! Though to be honest i haven't been using it that much since every time i do use it i have to spend at least half an hour setting up and reminding myself which shortcut is mapped to a certain button and I also have to do warm ups since I'm still not used to the digital media. Other than that I have no issues with it and I fully recommend it 😊
Very helpful. Thank you so much.
Very good review, I am a beginner with this tablet . Look forward to referencing your video often.
Quality review as always, Teoh!
Very good video, great details thank you!
Amazing review!!
Awesome content as always.
Thanks :-)
I'm really glad that this tablet is newer, because that means all of the reviews are new as well. I'm really interested in this tablet, so I'm trying to watch as many reviews as possible and compare it to all of its competitors.

@@teohyc Will do! Thanks!
Very nice review Teoh!
Thank you :-)
Teoh I cant wait for you to review the Cintiq 16, this gives us viewers an idea on what tablet to get.
Love your vids ❤️
Thanks 😁
i just got the 13.3 pro based on your review. thx mate!
Hope you like it
@@teohyc so far its amazing thank you!
What a good and in-depth review! You're really good. I just ordered one for $299.00. I ordered it because of the price and because I've been using a Wacom Cintq 12WX for years. I figured that even though it's a Cintq this would be an upgrade over one that is soooo old. I'm not 100% sure so I'm gonna take it for a test drive for as long as I can before the return policy expires to see if it beats my old kit. If it does I'll probably sell the Cintq to my brother, sister, or friend for cheap. Which is crazy because I paid $700 for it, but looking online it's only worth about $100-150. So I'll probably sell it to them for $50-75 bucks.
Thanks for sharing.
👍
Gracias por compartir excelente video muy completo.
Nice tutorial but whats the hotkey for the function switch on the dial? I notice you scroll, move up and down, and change the brush size by pressing the function key
86% Adobe is really good at this price point. I would like to see how ZBrush works on this. The Deco 3 has some issues that made it unusable in ZB. Thanks for the good review.
can you trynew Huawei Matebook E 2019 with pen?
Thank you for your review, it was very clear and honest, it helped me on my decision on whether to buy it or not. Guess what, it's already mine ^^
Excellent review. You get a sub.
Guess could be a step to my old samsung galaxy note 10.1 which I drawn many published comics on : D Great review mate!
No line glitches on Clip Studio Windows version I take it?
maximum information
thank you
Not related but your voice is soft and soothing lol. But great review!
And just a question, how long did you use the tablet for before making this review? Some people use it for months so they can make a really good review
great review! thanks for also showing your set up! I purchased an XPPEN156PRO and absolutely love it
What kind of tablet do you have there (at the end) for your notes?
Can you compare it with Wacom Cintiq 16 please
Awesome review. I want to add a few points about linux because this is one of the few tablets with linux support from the vendor. The linux driver is still in beta, but improving fast. At this point, tilt sensitivity isn't supported, but pressure is. Some of the sophistication is also lacking, like app-specific presets, switch cursor between monitors, and toggling the function assigned to the dial. Even the choices for what functions can be assigned to the keys is a bit more limited, for instance you can assign Ctrl plus some button or key, but you can't just assign Ctrl. Also, brush and eraser are preset to the two keys below the dial but can't be assigned to different keys. Amazon sold mine with an automatic coupon, net $340 US,
How does this compare to the XP-Pen Artist 12? Is it worth the upgrade? How heavy is it?
Wich has the least input lag this or kamvas 16 pro, artisul 16dpro or gaomon 156 pro (this one releases in dec) im hoing to buy one.
Just bought this yesterday. Amazon US with coupon......it was $319!!!!! Granted, this is a two year old display but very little has changed in the display market over the last couple of years. The XP-Pen Innovator 16" with coupon was only $400.....but just didn't think it had enough value over the Artist for the $80 upcharge.....very similar.
hi! just want to ask if it's possible to connect the tablet to an ipad?
Very good review, not based on entertainment like most reviewers do. Also I would like to know if people using this monitor with illustrator are meeting any kind of issues since this what I will primarily use it with (windows 10). Thank you.
Hello! thanks for another thorough and detailed review. Im planning to upgrade to a display tablet soon and xp-pen is my choice for now. I've been eyeing on the artist 15.6 pro but I feel like it may be a bit outdated (?) would you recommend the newer 16" tablets such as the innovator and 16 pro over this? Thank you!
hi Teo, hope you can reply my comment, id like to know, if we scratch the anti glare with the pen because of the sharp nib, can we replace it by just a 15.6 laptop screen protector as long as the ratio is 16-9?
sir what do think huoin 16(2021) is good or xp pen artist pro 15.6
Hi, great video. I would like to use a flexible arm for the 15.6 what do you recommend? can you help me?
hi, which surface pro is this and did you need anything extra to connect to it or just a hdmi cable?
This or the Cintiq 16? (im a total beginner), would love to try digital painting using PS, illustration (AI).
Thanks for the review. Did you have any issues hooking it up to your Surface? (Conflicts with the Surface's Windows Ink functionality or its lack of ports, etc.?) Or do both devices work properly while connected to each other without having to disable drivers?
Sometimes there are issues with Windows Ink, but you just have to turn Windows Ink off from the XP-Pen driver and it works alright again.
Hi Teoh, I'm very excited about this device and ready to get one. My question is, how did you setup the express keys so it would have so many function in one key (just like you did in 11:42)?
You can set with the driver software
I was diving into the web and nothing could make my pressure pen work. Just started to work when I activated the icon ""Windows Ink" and than made the pressure show up.
Thanks for a thorough review! do you know whether it works with affinity photo/ designer?
It works
How about pressure sensitivity in CS5 for windows?
Pressure sensitivity is as shown in the video
A Great Review. Can you give me your opinion please. I have to choose between XP Pen Artist Pro 15.6 and XP Pen Innovator 16, with a price difference of $150 for Innovator 16 higher. I see no difference between both except the design, but I am not pro neither I have the option to test them before buying. Thanks in advance, will really appreciate an answer.
Before I had a tablet without a screen and for the pen to have more speed I would put 0% smoothness on the brush in Photoshop, but in this graphic tablet the pen is very slow, I can configure the speed but not the speed, please help me T.T
Thanks a lot man. Would you get this or the budget 16 cintiq?
I don't think the drawing experience is going to be significantly different. So I would likely go for the XP Pen.
Thank you so much for your reviews! They're very in-depth. 👍
I have one question though: between this model and the XP-Pen Artist 15.6 (the older one, I think), which one has less delay when drawing more slowly? I saw your review of the 15.6 and that model looks a little bit more responsive at lower speeds.
The input lag on both are quite similar. It’s not the irritating type of lag. Very easy to get used to.
@@teohyc Oh, nice! Thanks again for the info. :)
I was considering buying one of the newer Wacom Paper Pros but the reviews said the pen runs out of ink quickly and the nibs wear out fast due to screen texture. Reviewers were also disappointed in the Wacom poor pen quality. The tip of the pen (not the nib) broke off according to multiple reviewers. I'm only mentioning this because over time supplies and replacements, depending on cost, add up. The AP-Pen nibs and replacement pens for the Artist 15.6 Pro are a lot cheaper than Wacom.
can you tell us in more detail how is it compated to xp-pen artist 15.6?
It has better colours, brightness and the shortcut wheel. Those are the main differences. All mentioned in the video.
do you know where I can get the connector (not cable) for the xp-pen 16.5?
Contact XP Pen
How to Zoom In? Have any Shortcut key, button or just touch to Zoom In?
Thank you.
You have to use keyboard shortcuts for those zoom and other functionality. This is not a touchscreen.
Does this have the same line quality as the wacom cintiq 16?
I’ve not used that Cintiq so I can’t say much. But the drawing performance and line quality for this is really quite good.
Just got mine the today.
The only problem i have at moment is ... i cant do strokes too light like with my wacom tablet ...
Needs more pressure than im used to do for drawing.
I dont if its a hardware or software problem... but i can see getting my hand tired more with using more pressure.
Tried adjusting the pressure curve in the driver?
Can you use a vesa mount with this tablet?
You can’t. There is no Vesa mount behind.
I just got this but I dont know how to calibrate the colors?
Any advice?
I use a Spyder5pro colour calibrator
Hello again, should I get this or the Kamvas 13? Which one do you recommend?
Depends on how much table space you have. If you draw a lot, perhaps a larger display is nicer to look at.
For the price it is excellent
What shortcuts do you use to move the image or what you are drawing with the pencil, move your work area from right to left and left to right???
Hold Spacebar button then move
@@teohyc Thank you so much!.... How can I increase the speed of the pencil?
@@dcss322 The speed cannot be increased
Thanks for this informative video! You mentioned a screen brightness of 200 nits - how well will this screen do outdoors?
200 nits is not enough for outdoor use.
@@teohyc Thank you for your quick reply! I would love to hear your recommendation when it comes to the best product considering general drawing experience, outdoor use and price. I think you mentioned the iPad Air 3 having 500 nits, which sounds promising, but I would like to find a solution for Windows or OS X. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated!
@@martinkris689 The iPad Air and iPad Pro 10.5 (2017) are the best drawing tablets at reasonable prices (relatively speaking) now.
App?
I have the previous model and I was thinking about selling it to buy this one, do you think the improvements are worth the hassle? :)
If your model is already working well, I don't think there is much reason to sell it unless there is something you really dislike.
yo guys, now this pen display is just $300, im gonna buy it for sure
Hi. I have a question. is this tablet its independent unit or it must to be connected with latop or computer?. Sorry i'm beginner
It's a monitor so you need a computer.
I dont know which one to get...cintiq 16, huion kamvas or xpen pro 15.6
Which one did you get
I have the non-pro version of it. I know about most of differences, but would like to know side by side if this one is brighter... The first one brightness is not enough for me.
They have a new version called Xp pen artist 16 2nd gen and the screen is better and the price is almost the same of this one
hi is there any local SG store selling this? Amazon US doesn't ship this here...
Not sure about that. Ask Basheer Graphic Books, or this company One Thirty Five that sells different types of tablets. bosto-singapore.com/
@@teohyc ok noted thank you!!
Would I need to buy a color calibration tool or are there cheaper options? They seem to be expensive ranging from $100-130
Good ones are around that price. You probably don't need a calibrator in the first two years. Just wait til the screen turns yellow and get one. Unless you are doing colour accurate work then it's good to have one.
Thanks Teoh!
What's the model of the keyboard you use there?
Logitech K810. It has been discontinued
Excellent review as to be expected Teoh. One thing: I noticed throughout the video that the pen and key inputs had a slight feedback sound. Is this the case? I found that very pleasing. How is your experience with this? Thanks
You mean the button presses? The buttons are quite firm and have audible clicking sound when pressed.
Teoh Yi Chie hi Teoh, what about the sound when the pen strokes on the screen? Does that get in the way of your drawing experience?
@@aaronoh5046 The sound is a very typical hard-tip-stylus-on-display type of sound. After a while, you probably won't notice it.
Teoh Yi Chie thanks!
How did you color calibrate your tablet..???
With Spyder5 Pro calibrator
Is xppen compatible for coreldraw please let me know before i have this tablet..thank you
It’s compatible
@@teohyc thank u sir, planning to hv one version 13 on xp pen..hope it works on coreldraw x6
I just ordered one of these. What program should I get for drawing? Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or something else? Thanks!
Try Medibang Paint Pro first.
@@teohyc Thank you. And thanks for a great, thorough and informative video!
Thinking about upgrading from my artist xp pen 12. I'm afraid the 22 inch one would be too big even though same price
so looking at the 15.6 pro.
Or looking at iPad Air 3
Or surface pro 4
2017 used or refurb.
Budget $400.
Want something that's gonna last and not fragile.
Can u please tell me what have u decided then ? I am currently considering buying the 15.6 xp pen artist, if that what u bought please tell me ur review about it after 2 yrs.🌝
I'm sorry my laptop blacked out after a year then bought an apple iPad 10.2 2019 w apple pencil.i don't have money for new laptop but might consider this drawing tablet if do.
Xp pen 15.6 pro or huion gt 191 v2 please help me for choose.
Perhaps the XP Pen. It's less bulky. Almost laptop size and thickness.
@@teohyc Thank you for the reply ,auto sub. Is the XP pen performance better than Huion?.
If you want a drawing tablet of any kind that has a screen do you always need a computer to use it properly? Im trying to find some drawing tablets with screens that doesn’t need a computer to use properly so if you guys have any suggestions it would be very useful ❤️
If you want portable tablets, get the iPad. These pen displays all need to use computers.
Teoh Yi Chie for the tablet you used for this video, does it need a computer for it to work?
@@jocelyno5492 It needs a computer. Think of it as a monitor.
Teoh Yi Chie ooo ok i see now, thank you for helping :D
What's the Difference XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro and XP-Pen Artist 15.6?
one thing im worried about with this is how it seems to taper so much at the end of the lines. it seems to be a problem throughout all of these non wacom brands
Did you have any problems with the driver? I bought an xp-pen and it keeps saying "device not found" .I looked around online and tons of people are having the same issue and there seems to be little to no answer. Just curious
I'm not sure what's happening. Maybe contact XP Pen and ask. twitter.com/XPPen
@@teohyc Ya i'll have to call them after work today. Anyways thanks for replaying!
I just bought one for my girl friend, waiting for it to arrive!
hey, which keyboard do you use?
