@@iangarza4565in earlier seasons sometimes characters doesn't appear in every episode esp when they're traveling. they appear after an episode or two and you can actually see that days have passed. season 6-8 they're just teleporting.
Daenerys gave us a modern day field of fire. imagine what THREE dragons raining fire down on those men must've been like back during Aegon's Conquest...

The plot armor in this episode is insane, but the ending battle with Drogon still gives me chills. It's just sad that this season pretty much peaked with this episode although there are still a few cool scenes to come.

Dany is always on about how pople should choose their ruler, except when it comes to Westeros where she wants everyone to "bend the knee" to her. A complete hypocrite since season 1.
Why can't the north choose Jon for themselves?
the north represents a really big portion of the westerosi territory. if dany or any other ruler is to let them rule themselves and they end up succeeding, then every other house might as well want their independence. so the ruler of the seven kingdoms is no ruler at all.
when was Daenerys all about people choosing a ruler? lol.
her plan is to insert a democracy like system, just like she did in Meereen, cause she can't have heirs.
but she's the only one whiling to do that with westeros, so she'll have to conquer it first

Daenerys didn't show anyone sh*t though. They just teleported lmao.
Yk robert said that and it was very much true during that time. No one met the dothraki in open battle because they were scared. But it's already quite easily solved by the fact that dothraki would lose to basically all the great houses except the riverlords, the stormlands and the crownlands.
Dothraki had a horde of 40k.
Compare that to the westerlands having more than 80k soldiers with 'heavy knights' and 'regular horse knights' and foot soldiers and more arrows with better weaponry. The reach? Over a 100k soldiers all under the command of garland (arguable a better commander than most of tywin's commanders).
The eeyrie is impreganble- high mountains with little place for horselords to fight.
Dorne would kill dothraki if they died alongside.
The iron islands wouldn't be a topic to think about.
The north has never been taken and it probably never woulda been. Dothraki horses would die before reaching winterfell.

Yeah knowing the ratings ahead of time feels like it's creating expectations that spill into the reactions. It's not the same as going in completely blind. I would be more interested in them giving their own ratings at the end of each episode and then comparing their own ratings to the IMDB scores or something.
yeah its definitely the one thing ive always disliked about their reactions, they do it with literally every show and its so painful since when its positive its more or less a softcore spoiler that screams into your face "SOMETHING BIG HAPPENS THIS EPISODE!!!" which can often be stuff like character deaths so it really sucks, and then when its negative it just skewers their opinion ahead of time. In my opinion the weight of anything that happens is always lessened by knowing ratings beforehand

Tyrion was never 100% loyal to Dainerys, because he couldn't leave behind the ties with his family, the reality is that they are at war and if one doesn't attack the other will and kill you!!!! The only ones loyal to Dainerys are Jora, Misandei and Grey Worm!!!

@@Sandripedroso I mean who knows what is happening under Cersei. Maybe King's Landing is well fed. Why would people need to be liberated? They are doing fine. That is one of the flaws of the show.
They should have made Cersei really insane for her people so that KL needs to be liberated. Like following the blowing of the Sept of Balor, there should have been riots in the streets(cause for people the Sept is like the Vatican). Then have Olenna cut the food supply coming from Highgarden. So people are hungry and become even more uninged. Cersei becomes paranoid and then hire the Golden Company to create order at KL, it becomes a dicatorship and she starts executing people on and on. She becomes a Mad Queen. The people needs a savior and that's when Dany arrive at Westeros.
I feel that you guys may have had a higher appreciation for the battle scene had you not watched House of The Dragon. Seeing a Targaryen riding a Dragon on Westerosi soil for the first time and the dumbfounded looks on the Lannister faces was something else.
The Targaryens are extremely overrated.

Daenerys is actually the logical thinker here, she should have hunted Euron and the Iron fleet down, one enemy less.
She should have attacked Kingslanding from the start. The city would have fallen in a day. Daenerys doesn't have to burn it down, just the walls and the men standing on those walls, then send in the Unsullied to make sure, only Lannister soldiers are killed and boom, done....

I don't agree with Dany being impulsive. She followed Tyrion's advice and lost two important allies, she was gonna go out on her own but instead she decided to ask for Jon's advice and followed that.

There is no such thing as a perfect ruler. Jaehaerys I, the greatest monarch to ever sit on the throne, had his wife and a very competent Hand to advise him. Viserys was not the perfect ruler. He was actually quite weak. Nevertheless, he had good advisors around him like Corlys, Lyonel Strong and even Otto (minus the power-hungry aspect of him. He was a good Hand besides that part).

Missandei literally explained to them that they chose to follow Daenerys not because she's a Kings daughter, but because of her actions, because of what she did to help the people. Not saying Jon didn't help his people, he very much did but the difference here is that while Jon may be a bastard, to the northeners he's still Ned Starks son which is why they named him as their King. If it were just a random dude doing the things Jon did, i don't think the northerners would've done that. As lady Mormont said: "I don't care that he's a bastard, Ned Starks blood runs through his veins". Most of Dany's followers have no idea who her father even was. They don't give a sh*t what blood runs through her veins.

i know a lot of people love this episode but this is already more marvel than GOT, it's all spectacle over substance, writing of dubious quality, weak character arcs and loads of plot armour. First time you watch it, of course you're entertained and think this was so cool, but then the more you think about it the more underwhelming the whole episode becomes.
Bronn is such an underrated character throughout the series!
Arya went from being an initiate in sword fighting to being a master at it without any consistent training in sword fighting after Syrio. It makes little sense.
Same with her mask appearance-changing stuff. Where did she get the magic to potray a 75 years old man.

They obviously like this season but they feel like they need to apologies for it because of the public opinion. Don't let the public influence you. Season 7 is still great. And season 8 is not as bad as people make it out to be. Is has some really good episodes. They could've definitely write some things better but it is still good.

The public does not influence us at all. Even back in the earlier parts of the show when we had issues with the show people complained about our issues. Yea I hope they enjoy things and don't mind what people think. I watched Season 8 with a group of people and we had a blast(even if the writing blew, frankly). There was enough good stuff to enjoy.

Honestly, I hate Cersei, but I felt very sorry for the Lannister army. The Dothraki are murderers, rapists and robbers without culture and education. And against them are the Westerosi-born sons, brothers and fathers of lords, vassals whose houses the murderers are trying to seize. Before the conquestin Westeros, Daenerys recalled their oath to her army, which said that they would help her destroy all their stone houses, kill everyone. Tyrion, watching the oo, as the legacy of his house burns, breaks my heart.

Might have been one of my Favorite Jaime moments in Game of Thrones. The Kingslayer has Enormous Gold Balls going in front of a dragon like that! Homeboy had the right idea about Bronn hiting Drogon with the spear and Jaime finishing him up. I thought about what would have been my ideal scenario for Jaime in this instance a few years ago and I had Jaime killing Drogon in a similar manner. Then the Dothrakis who favor strength above all things would stop fighting cause of how impressed they would be and they would chant in their language "Dragonslayer!". Then Tyrion would take this opportunity to prop Jaime up saying "Bow down, this is your new Khal!". Then Tyrion would convince the Lannister army there and Jaime that he should be King and to split up from Cersei. Jaime who changed history and affected his own fate by killing the last dragon, Arys the Mad King now would kill an actual dragon. He would be named from now on Dragon Slayer.

The whole thing about the Dothraki being unbeatable in an open field never really made much sense to me. Almost all of them have no armour, no bows and curved blades... what exactly is the threat supposed to be? I assumed they were based on the Mongols, but the Mongols were expert horseback archers who could surround and army and wipe them out by attrition. I'm not sure what the Dothraki are really supposed to do, unless GRRM assumed horses can do what they do in Return of the King.
Also the Mongols had freaking armors and helmets. Any well trained army of Westeros would dummy the Dothrakis.
Its feels overwhelming and hopeless because Daenerys basically brought a nuke to a sword fight. Also, Daenerys didn’t burn the food, she burned the gold.

Sucks that so much has been spoiled for y'all because this was a great episode when it aired. Everyone was clenched. I think Dany echoed many people's frustration because at the end of season 6 there was no way she should be having this many issues on the offensive front. Culturally and politically we knew she was in for it because the lords of Westeros don't know her but seeing her get washed like this was wild.

The last 10 minutes are the only good thing about season 7 in my opinion. The only part I rewatch, but even then, Jaime and Bronn surviving is just stupid.

3:40 Brandon dropping the "Chaos is a ladder" -- It's not that he was specifically listening to that conversations, it's that the 3ER just experiences all of it. It's a big part of why Brandon feels so stoic and mute these days. You can imagine so much data taking it's toll, and him being wired for it just means that he's getting fully tuned in. The rest of this shit... doesn't matter. He sees and knows more than anybody. Very Dr Manhattan in the quiet dissociation from "human problems".
This is one of the episodes that elevates Season 7. We'd never seen a dragon officially in battle until now. What that looks like, and what that really means for the war (and the world) was on jaw-dropping display. And Bronn and Jaime being "likeable" on the other team gave us proper stakes and mixed emotions. My head tells me at least one of them should have died here for the realism, but my heart didn't want either of them to go. So I'll defend/explain the plot armor here because this clearly became the challenge for the writing team. Kings Landing has become "Oops, All Villains" and viewers have to care about someone on that side, or all the story over there won't matter to anyone.
Speaking of that, Bran not being Bran anymore, and Arya being so cold and different does take a little air out of the Stark reunion, imo. I get that they've all been through their own hellish journeys, but we've been waiting and wishing for this for literally years, so it's a weird thing when it seems like it means more to the audience than it does to the characters.

I will always love the part where Dany flies over the Dothraki on Drogon. Gives me chills every time.
I do feel like y'all are too critical of Dany sometimes. I mean, I loved Viserys in HotD, but he ruled in a time of peace and still made mistakes. Acting like Viserys made no mistakes as king is a weird take to me.
Anyway, glad y'all enjoyed this episode.
