The thing I like most about these videos is the interactions with the local people. It is like being transported thousands of miles away for a fraction of time just to see their faces and hear their voices.
I'm in love with this channel and also kind of developing a parasocial relationship to Yan. Her heart is pure and humanisizing China the way she is doing is so important to overcome the mostly threatening image we get in the so-called West. Thank you. P.S.: Of course I'm biased in a certain way. China is a country I wanted to visit since I'm a child. Don't ask me why. I still didn't manage to do it. But I will.
You don't have to justify or explain your desire to visit China. We all have longings to visit places we've never been to or to do things we've never done - it's part of being human.
Totally understandable. One thing is the Chinese Government and the other thing is the Chinese people. How the Western media portrait China as one singular thing is unfair. I would love to explore more of China, it is culturally very diverse and beautiful.
I'm Chinese but I've never been to China too. Been a long time desire of mine to go too. Yan comes across as being very friendly and the people she interacts with puts me very much at ease 🎉❤
I was lucky enough to marry a Chinese girl a few decades ago, and then have been lucky enough to travel to many places in China over the years. Yan does an excellent job of portraying China as I have experienced it. The only problem I have with her videos is that I get homesick for China when I watch them. You should definitely go if at all possible, it is a truly wonderful country with the most hospitable people in the world.
The people are so friendly…they’re so willing to talk and tell her anything…no hostility at all,,this is so nice …everyone seems happy with their life you can see it on their faces
Your country's just so beautiful I wish with all my heart all country's would stop hurting others and learn to love all ppl so we could all visit each other's and be the one ppl were meant to be were all brothers and sisters we all bleed red and we all cry and like ve ty so much for showing your lovely ppl
When I was young in 1992, a Chinese man in China told me that all creatures who have the back towards the sun are considered edible. I couldn't understand what I was eating because everything was made into balls and mixed with noodle soup. I'm Italian and in those days I could only speak a few basic words in English with a strong Italian accent. My friend's English was even worse than mine as we both studied French. We stayed in a work in progress Beijing then flew to Chengdu. We visited Emei Shan which resulted to be the best experience for us as we were both mountaineers. Great friendly people, good food but we were surprised when we had to buy something people would make a cross with their fingers (十) which in our culture is done to keep demons away 😁💖😄. Luckily, in Chengdu we met an incredibly friendly young man, Mr Lee, who took care of all of our needs and spoke great English. He just waited for tourists outside a hostel for foreign people as we were not allowed to stay in hotels where Chinese people were staying. We also had to buy everything with a special FEC currency that was for tourists only but we managed to change some money in the black market . We gave Mr Lee the equivalent of USD 500 in cash to buy our tickets to Nepal. He didn't give us any receipt and we were very worried he would disappear with the money. He came back the following day with the plane tickets and everything arranged for us. There were tables outside our hostel and we used to meet Mr Lee there, that was his office. Private businesses were not known of at that time but Mr Lee definitely deserved to have his own tourist agency. I wish him all the best! 🤗💖😁
Keep up the interesting and natural feeling videos. Be sure to notify me whenever you're headed to Belgium 😊 Edit: really appreciate the extra work for subtitles in both languages
Thank you little granddaughter 🦋It is so beautiful to finally get to fulfill one of my wishes for over 60 years….. touring China. And all can be done from the safety and comfort of my home. You are building wonderful skills of photography, good communication with the local folks and with your viewers. Your unassuming polite approach really helps give a glimpse of the areas that is both realistic and complimentary. The human family has so much in common. Thank you for sharing these lovely various slices of life of your country with us. Also, I am amazed how high your drone footage can go with being blown away by the wind…. Awesome.Marjorie from Georgia US
Hello US Neighbor, I am in North Alabama and also am really enjoying these videos, her respect of others, drone and beautiful music in addition to the historical and design tidbits. My husband and I are retired and I don’t know that I would travel to these places as there are so many places I am interested in, but seeing it through her eyes and the drone as well, gives me a renewed hope that others in the US will gain a respect for the people of these areas as it should be about the people not the politics.
Yan, the way you manipulate your drone is awesome. You have great skills. And you’re showing us a part of Yunnan that the normal tourist doesn’t see. And that $11 hotel room! What a super find. Is there a way we can support your travels? I noticed the FundMe button somewhere on this site, but am not sure if that’s the best way to support you. Keep going, we all are your avid fans.
Gorgeous! Place you visited. You are doing an amazing job showing new places, I will one day make it to mainland China to see these less traveled places. Thank you for posting these videos.
Hello Yan, we are enjoying our armchair tour around "unseen China" with you as our guide. These temple complexes seem to pop up on every island and mountain top around China. The lake is amazingly clear and clean, which is amazing to us as there are tourists all over the place
I heard Yunnan is a very beautiful province. I hope to visit someday soon. I love how you show the rest of the world how China is not such a scary country. Everyone in your videos is nice, kind, and friendly.
Chinese have been around for 5000 years. Start trading with Africa in the 14th century and supported our liberation. They are only scary to the Western imperialists
I absolutely adore your personality and every interaction is so authentic its all so inspiring thank you for showing the world how beautiful your country and people are ✨💜💕 great job ☺️ much love from America 🌾🏞️🌲
Yan, Welcome to Yuxi, China 中国玉溪, the hometown of famous Yunnan tobacco云烟. Well, I have been to Fuxian Lake 抚仙湖15 years ago. There were lots of Nong Jia le 农家乐around the lakes. Here you may try the best potatoes rice 洋芋饭👍👍cooked in copper pot 铜锅 and the lake fishes dishes were good and the vegetables were fresh too 👍👍. Yuxi is also the starting point of China Laos Railways 中佬铁路 and you can access easily to Puer 普洱, Xishuang Banna 西双版纳 and Vientiane 万象, the missing link for ling time. Happy travelling and stay safe at all times. 🌹🌹🌹.
What a time to be alive. To share so many cultures instantly and simultaneously. Thanks for your channel, It's so intriguing seeing the internal cultures of China.
Always happy to see there is a new episode when I turn on my computer. I will now sit down with a freshly ground coffee and enjoy the next 21 minutes. Love Yunnan 😀.
@@江宁路牛奶棚 Hi, yes I have been trying to source a good quality reliable source of coffee from Yunnan and was at a local coffee tasting in Beihai Guangxi of 9 Yunnan coffees last week which was very positive. I hope to visit Yunnan within the next 4 weeks.
I am from Nagaland, India following your videos on China particular of Yunnan province. It's very beautiful country and the cultures of the people particularly the minority ethnic communities are really fascinating and the cultures are to an extent strikingly similar with us.
Hi From Malaysia, i've been to Kunming, Dali and LIjiang many years ago, very beautiful places with loads of UNESCO Heritage sites. But it gets seriously crowded with local tourists. But it was really very memorable and beautiful. Keep up the good work. Hope your channel blow up huge soon!!
Yunan is a very touristic place. Now it's off season in china and china is not open to tourist yet but once opened up, yunan is a very popular place and prices will certainly go up.
Appreciate your project...since China is really big, probably eventually you will need to organize your videos into playlist by province for easier viewing.
I went to this lake!!! Your video brings back beautiful memories. It was just like that, very breezy and cool when I went. It was invited by a local couple on a day trip to drive around most of it. Beautiful scenery all around! This is one of the most memorable places I visited during my temporary stay in Kunming working as a math teacher.
You earned a new Subscriber. I love your videos. Love you too. Down to earth. Beautiful, Natural and Simple. Thank God you speak English. Or I’d be lost! 😂 👍🏼
Your choice of music and your photography are wonderful. I really enjoy how and what you "see" in the world and the way you share what you hear and "see". Thank you for sharing with us!
Hi, l am from Nepal, a neighboring country of China. By watching your videos, honestly l can say that you not really entertained me, but introduced the most beautiful parts of China. Really loved from my heart. Best wishes from my country Nepal where the tallest Mount Everest is situated. May god bless you..
Here in Australia we get a lot of Chinese tourist from China who come because they love our beaches. I just wondered why when you have beautiful beaches in China. Blow my mind to see how white your sands are and how beautiful your water is. I also like to mention how cheap your hotel rooms are every where. And how cheap your meals are. Thank you Yan. Love from Australia.
I binge-watched your episodes. They are all very interesting. I consider myself well-traveled in China and Yunnan is my favorite place, but your vlogs are still not only eye-catching but also mind-opening.

I can tell just from this video that travelling with you is going to be almost like being there again with you as my guide. I am looking forwards to my armchair travels. 😃

I agree. It's just like we're a part of it. Fascinating!
Knowing to speak a language really helps with the interaction.
Without learning the local language I get the native tourist view. Awesome. I have to pick a city to learn Chinese.😎

Yes it is true, travelling in China is quite affordable. Was planning to travel to Dali and Kunming . Wanted so much to go up to the Himalaya, even preparing with lots of exercise for 1/2 year for the Himalaya trip but too bad, change of plan when Covid hit the world. The lakes in Yunnan are all called sea, such as Erhai Lake, which is interpreted by hai as sea
Wow. The scenery is amazing
Heading to the province of RUclips success it seemed!
It's really nice to see my hometown since I haven't been back for over four years. Thanks for this post.

Nah ,with the west diligently pumping out anti-chinese contents, I dont think this channel can easily hit 1M
Thanks for your videos Yan, they're inspiring. After watching "unseen China" playlist now I really want to visit it.
Thank you Yan I really enjoy your presentation
An excellent video as always.
Amazing beautiful region!
Easily the best China travel vlog. I am hooked, thank you so much!
Such a pretty place. Eating local foods and fruits. So interesting
Thank you Yan, once again you made a wonderful Vlog. It's always interesting to see the different kinds of food China offers in the various regions. I have never eaten insects - especially not these big ones. Maybe, one day, I'll have a try ... 🥴
Many places in Yunnan are old-growth forest, so the local people have the habit of eating insects. If you see insect food in other parts of China, you may only be in scenic spots to satisfy tourists' curiosity. The internet is filled with many misconceptions, such as Chinese people eating bats. Amazing that the food that was for 3 people was more than her hotel room.
Good luck and be safe, Well done.
I love these shows. The background music you select with the drone pictures is absolutely beautiful and adds so much to the 'feeling' and 'experience' of wanting to be there!!
I am an Indian like much China... hopefully soon travel to china
Another amazing video. I'm guessing that big beautiful clear lake is an ancient glacial lake.
Looks so cool haha, found your channel yesterday and the locations and people are so amazing
Hotel room is very nice and affordable for that price and the scenery is 太美了
It is not high season . However, l think even high season is not too expensive.
I’m seeing the China for the first time. It’s so much better than what I imagined! Thank you for this opportunity.
