Excellent presentation, very informative and helpful! By the way, I love my new front loading LG washer and dryer. When I moved to another state I cried when I had to leave the first set. It wouldn't fit in my new home.

I think a “short-cut” like “turbo wash” is just marketing.
Give me an old-fashioned wash, with nice clean water to rinse the clothes.
I’ll wait the extra bit of time for clean-water-rinsed clothes.

Same. Also I bought an LG washer without an agitator for the first time about 3 years ago. Never again. I can look through the glass lid, and just see the clothes on top just moving back and forth not even covered with water. Everytime I run it I have to choose water plus to get the clothes all covered. I know that they say all the clothes don't have to be covered because it cycles them around but it doesn't, as I said I can see the clothes on top are there for the whole cycle. Smh.

@@kona702 , I confirm what you are saying...I went to visit my mother and she has a top-loading machine as well. I have to place the machine on "deep water" or something like that (plus...I end-up adding water from the adjacent sink to bring it to the surface level of the clothes) All these "water-saving" features actually cause you to waste more water, because I'm more likely to run the clothes thru the cycle TWICE.
Now...front loading machines are different. You just need a few inches of water at the bottom, and all the clothes get tossed thru the water. So the front loading machines are better at cleaning clothes, AND saving water, AND are more gentle on the clothes because there isn't the "rubbing" of the clothes by the agitator; the clothes simply rub against each other as they are tumbled in the horizontal drum.

@@tjam4229 I was in Lowe's the other day and noticed they are making a lot of them with agitator is now again. I guess they realized that they weren't really cleaning the clothes well without the agitator. If I get another toploader I'm definitely getting one with an agitator no question.

If it's a steam dryer, you need to add a steam kit if you want that feature to work. It comes with a long hose, a short hose, and a metal "Y" connector. Basically, you tap into the cold water line and run cold water to the dryer. Toward the end of the cycle, it can add a cold mist to your laundry to prevent static. The feature is well worth hooking up if your dryer has it.

Yes, I have same dryer and the hose that goes to the washer has a split where another hose goes into the dryer. If you don't use steam feature or any other water-related features then you don't need that hose connected.
