toka plum
The white film you wipe off plums is a natural protectant the plant produces to keep deseases from infecting the fruit usually only mature and very healthy plum trees produce the film
I planted a plum seed from a store. I do not know what kind, but it was small and super sweet.
My tree is growing. Would I need a second tree so it would fruit?
Has your plum tree ever bear fruit?
No. It’s about one years old. It’s growing very nice.
@@GoGreenYes Can Santa Rosa plum tree grow in zone 10 or 11.? One of My Santa Rosa leaves are not growing for many months and another Santa Rosa whose leaves are also not growing for many months has a new baby shoot coming from it's roots. Is it possible they grow babies or that shoot is something else .? Please Help..
Can i grow it in big pot ?
You can grow plum trees in large pots or containers so long as they have good drainage. Be sure to choose a self-fertile plum if you only want 1 tree - something like a dwarf Santa Rosa is perfect in pots.

can you plant plum trees?
I have planted maybe 3 years old plum tree with a lot of blooms, in early May, in cold weather, after 15 days none the blooms got opened neither the leaves, i pretty followed the instruction. is this beautiful tree will make it? thanks
Plums are typically dark blue or purple 🫐
Plum is a purple color with a brownish-gray tinge, like that shown on the right, or a reddish purple, which is a close representation of the average color of the plum fruit.
can you plant a plum tree from a plum?
My plumb tree is dropping its fruit. Plenty of plumbs about 1 1/2 inches long and they are dropping from the tree. Why? What can I do?
There can be numerous reasons why a plum tree drops its fruit before it ripens: insects, disease, high winds, and too much water, too little water, lack of nutrients, poor drainage, weed competition, and excessive shade.
Just brought 6 feet tall plain tree , how long will take to fruiting??
it depends upon your plant age, either its grafted or grown from seed and the region you are living in
Muhammad amin,
Thank you for helping answer this question from our friend.
1 to 2 years
Take it they can't stay in a pot/container ?
Plum trees can be grown in containers but the fruit will need to be thinned to avoid the branches getting too heavy.
Plum trees need regular fertilizing once fruit production has started.
happy gardening.

Is negative temperatures are required for American plums
Not really, best conditions are a well-drained soil, sunny site for fruit production; however American plum can tolerate shade.
American hybrids are typically the hardiest of the plums, with some varieties being able to survive as far north as Zone 3.

Hi go green ! My plum trees in uk mostley have maggots and so are wasted every year. What is wrong please?
You can try this way:
• Get rid of any infested fruit - including fallen fruit.
• Eliminate places for the larvae by clearing away debris and loose bark from the base of the plum trees.
• Lightly disturb the soil around the base of the tree, hopefully they will be eaten by birds.
• Encourage insect-eating birds to the area using feeders and nest boxes. Bluebirds and swallows particularly like moths, while grosbeaks and orioles will go after the larvae.
• Trap the adult moths before they mate using fly traps or special pheromone traps that will not impact beneficial insects.
hope it helps,
