There is but so much a background check can do, you can be peachy clean people can just snap and go crazy it not impossible

I've heard most people that go "missing" on cruise ships tend to be people that go over board somehow and end up dying at sea. Roughly 10 people go "missing" a year.
Wow....sitting in a medial office waiting to be assisted by people who are trained to help you heal is the last place you'd expect something like that to happen. I'm sure everyone was so shocked. I would be shook too Bianca. I hope the rest of the trip is uneventful in that way and you can enjoy the rest of it. wow...just wow.

Mental Illness is real,,I am so sorry this has actually shifted every emotion to another level,,,don;t fight your feelings Bianca, if u need to cry, cry, if u need to scream , go for it,,I worked in an ER, Urgent Care, Dr's Offices, stc, and have seen some things,,,obviously this guy was having a mental episode,Thank God the injuries are treatable, not that any passenger should have to go thru this while on a cruise,,but she will heal, it always could've been worse,,DO NOT LET HIS ACTIONS RUIN YOUR CRUISE,,,and let your feelings be as they are,,,so sorry all of you, passengers, crew, and of course you 2 lovely folks have to deal with this,,,try and enjoy the rest of your time and make beautiful memories,,,,,GOD BLESS!!!!

First of all I am relieved that you are both safe. My prayers go out to the victim and her Family. I am so sorry that you had to go through this horrific event.
I was just on the Encore for the 21 day reposition cruise and disembarked on April 28. I was shocked when this came up in our Facebook group. Its scary but please dont let it ruin your vacation. This person doesn't represent the rest of the amazing crew on the Encore. Its a beautiful ship packed with fun activities. Stay safe.
mental health checks should be done on a monthly basis at every corporation and organization! this can happen anywhere at any time! my thoughts are with the poor elderly lady who got attacked. stay safe everyone!
I read about this, the article explained pretty much what you said. He Stabbed ppl on the cruise and tried to escape on a life boat. Crazy you guys are on the ship. Please stay safe.
Dev and Bianca what a scary situation. I heard about this event earlier, but did not realize y’all were on this exact cruise. My thoughts and prayers are with the crew member’s and passenger that was attacked. Thanks for always bringing us the news even when it’s hard news. So wild that this went off on your vacation … CruiseTubers just posted about this incident.. Try to remain calm & enjoy your time.. I was in Vegas (2017) during the Mandalay Bay shooting.. it was somber & casted a dark shadow on the trip to say the least. Whooosaaah 🙏

Prayers out to everyone. Thats wild. I heard about this earlier from another RUclipsr and I didn’t even pay attention to what ship it was on. Very shocking, very sad. Glad you all are ok and I hope the others injured recover and get the aid they need. I hope the crew member gets help that he needs as well.
Your feeling is valid!! I was 10 ft away from the KC shooting for the Super Bowl celebration. It’s absolutely terrifying how people can be. I hope in time your anxiety reaches where you want them to be. Hope you get to enjoy the rest of the cruise, looks stunning!

I’m so sorry you both and everyone aboard had to have all that happen in such close proximity to you all. I really do hope you guys get to enjoy the beauty of Alaska for the remainder of your visit in spite of the horrible events that took place. Thanks for sharing that. The news media didn’t give any details. They made it seem so random which was extra scary. Knowing the details put it into perspective a bit. Hopefully it’s a wake up call to the cruise industry to more carefully screen potential hires. Probably should add a psychological evaluation if not in place already. Hope you were able to enjoy the rest if your trip ❤

Bianca - ❤ you’re a lovely woman with a big heart, it’s understandable you’re upset as you’re confide to a boat unlike the theme parks or other holidays - you have the ability to get away.
Try not to let it spoil the rest of your holiday or darken it, you’re safe just never trust anyone because unfortunately it could happen anywhere, even at Disney and universal you just don’t hear of it.
The 75 year old woman, that concerns me a lot I hope she is ok!

So sorry to hear this. You have been looking forward to going on your cruise for a while now. I am watching on Amazon Prime Cruise Ship Killers. I didn’t know so many horrible experiences happen on cruise ships. I follow JoJo and Kyle and Jackie and Jen and you guys have been on so many cruises and nothing happens. I guess the world is going bonkers the last 4 years and I just want you guys to be aware of your surroundings. That being said I really hope that the rest of your cruise is wonderful!
Yikes guys! That is super scary, I hope everyone ends up being OK. I’m no expert, but it seems b/c he was trying to do something illegal anyway he should’ve already been in handcuffs while being detained until they could sort things out or at least in a confined room where he could not exit - goodness!!! Obvi, if he’s already doing something erratic - he’s absolutely a threat for something unpredictable. I hope they change protocol after this or ensure staff is following protocol if they were not 😢
A cruise ship is a small floating city. Good and bad things will happen. I wouldn’t let it bother me if I wasn’t involved. Very sorry about the woman who was stabbed though. Hope she recovers Ok.
Just remember that what makes it so shocking is it's unbelievably unusual and NEVER happens on these kinds of holidays. Ovbiously the crew member was have a mental crisis and it's very possible that signs were missed. The end result is that, luckily, no one was criticially hurt (including the crew member) and Norwegian and all other cruiselines will hopefully re-examine mental wellness for crew members and hopefully provide more support. Perhaps wellness check-ins and evaluations or something along those lines.
It sounds like the passenger that was injured will be ok and proper review of what was done right and what was done wrong will be reviewed.
Glad you guys are safe and feel assured that Norwegian kept things relatively contained and security did right by that passenger coming to their aid as well as right by the crew member to safely defuse the situation and turn them over to proper authorities so you can all feel safe. I imagine all crew will up their games even moreso to make the reamdiner of the cruise something special.

We heard some one jumped from the third floor. We'll as it turned out someone fell on the 3ed floor...

On World News tonight the just talked about the stabbing. The older person was stabbed and also 2 security people from what David Muir said.

I'd be interested to hear how much the cruise line ends up telling you. In situations like this, after the situation is under control, usually everybody starts to protect themselves legally and minimizes communication.
