The raga, the language/pronunciation,the style of singing (perfect traditional style)timing, name anything in this respect are all uncomparable.

Purandara dasaru was mesmerised by the charm of young Ranga and wants to play with him just like gopikas did in Brindavan.It is a rare opportunity for the earthly persons to see Him in the human form. The red lotus feet and the sound of kalgejje was indeed a blessed sight for the Bhaktas.
MSS Amma is another mother to all of us the Carnatic music listeners. We worship her like our own mother and even at higher level because she brings divine in front of us. She is nearer to God now. Her passing away is the greatest loss to her die hard fans. No one elevated the Rasika to much higher level as MSS THE GREAT. If anyone who listens to her rendition for two hours but does not get to shed tears at one stage or other is probably as good as a log or wood!.

Sri Saka Rama Rao, Tanjavuru, guru of Sri Semmengudi mama and few vidwans of Mysuru-Karigiri Rao, Bidaram Krishnappa, Subbanna, R.K.Srikantan, Ramamurthy and few vidwans of Andhra-Chintalapalli Venkata Rao and Ramachandra Rao and my Guru and father Sri Sandhyavandanam Srinivasa Rao, Balamurali Krishna, few vidwans settled in Madras-Ariyakudi, KVN, MLV-only to name limited lists who had performed Dasara padagalu much before MSS Amma. Sandhyavandanam Srinivasa Rao was one of the few great maestros to have performed full concert of 3/4 hours only of Dasara padagalu (belonged dasa koota parampara). Ariyakudi, Semmengudi, BMK, MSS, MLV (to name only few great maestros) had learnt Dasa compositions from SSRao. 'Odi Barayya' is one of the purandara dasa compositions learnt by MSS Amma from SSRao. BMK's services to popularise dasara padagalu, unfortunately, does not get deserving appreciation. MLV Amma took it as a mission to popularise dasara padagalu.

I think you haven't heard of MLV amma... She always thought purandara dasa's composition are more devine and realistic than Thyagarajar
