The first time I heard about him was also the first time I saw him. He was a guest during Jeju Explo 2018 organized by Campus Crusade for Christ. I was an intern Missionary then assigned in the Philippines, so obviously, I was part of the event as one of the representative for Philippines. It was if I remembered it right, the first night of the event. Of all the things he said up on stage, there is that line I remembered clearly this very day. He shared a little about his journey on a rap show and how that show tested his faith to God. He said, he was always placed at the bottom, and he was almost discouraged. But, when he sought God's guidance to align himself to God, everything changed. Then he started to include and praise God with his rap, then there's this line "When I started to boast about God, He started to boast about me. He lifted me from the bottom place to the first place.". At the time, although full-time in the ministry, I was feeling so lost, and that feeling like hitting rock bottom. And then I heard him say that, believe it or not, I was enlightened. I hope he knows this, that those words he may just have spoken out from his heart and forgot about it as days passed, actually helped and cheered a lost soul. God bless your family life BeWhy. ❤
I discovered him in 2019, back when i myself was struggling with my faith. Watching his performances especially with the lyrics honoring God helped me as well.
BewhY you and your daughter are great!!! Congrats! Glad to see you. You are my #1 Korean rapper that got me listening to Korean rap - so glad to see you and family are doing great!
Get over yourselves. 🙄 looks fine. Let people be. You do you. Cause if we all had this issue, we wouldn't be wearing half the stuff we do. This includes colors. Don't like it Don't look and move on.
I don't want to sound like a hater but I feel like this video is another example that even in 2024 with the impact of globalization, such a popular rapper can get away with blatant cultural appropriation, ie. the durag, and no one cares to notice/is too ignorant to comment(could be editing idk) and one of the panelists even called it a "swimmer's style"
are you sure it's a durag because there is an korean modernization that looj like a durag but it's not. And even if it is it's not an culture appropriation everyone can weear it like everyone can wear a kimono or an hanbeok.
@@lolli3630 At 6:53 in the video they call it a durag so it is acknowledged by the people in the video. Honestly, I was probably too harsh in my comment because I don't think Bewhy has any bad or malicious intentions when wearing one. However, I do think that by not acknowledging or understanding the roots of where an item came from, especially from specific cultures, it doesn't further/propagate a healthier cultural exchange. I am not saying that every rapper is like this(I myself am a massive multi-stan) but in a lot of Khiphop and specifically in SMTM, you'll see rappers with durags, braids, and dreads rapping about their 'gang' and their 'guns'. I understand cultural appreciation but sometimes without a proper basis of knowledge, it veers too far into what I see as appropriation.
@lolli3630 brudda there is no "Korean durag" Durag are for black males and females to protect and keep their hair neat usually when they go to sleep or just during the day Koreans are just influenced by the black culture but do it wrong which is why its disrespectful
Why does it seem like everyone who comments stuff like this have as a hobby getting offended? It's just a piece of cloth, gatekeeping clothes because of race is crazy.
It’s always non black people being triggered about minor things like do-rag’s. Like for real who cares. As long as he doesn’t say anything bad about black culture. He’s literally a rapper, why are y’all shocked
People complaining abt the durag bruh we blacks don't care, abeg it's good people are wearing it, not like he's using it for something inappropriate 🙄👀, like mind your business most of y'all complaining are not even "BLACK"
Why aren't the kids hanging out at waterparks, kids cafe, museums, beach, concerts, seafood restaurants, old markets etc. They are always confined to the homes. The 1st version with the triplets, twins was so good
@@Fforthai yes. and i also noticed that each guest won't last more than a year.. it's only jun ho and jasson who lasted this long but jasson became a new host to this upgraded show. so jun ho remained the longest member. maybe the guests can't commit bec of other stints...the format changed when the new season came...
@@malditawithlove yeah.. but in a way I think it’s because most of these guests are busy people. they don’t usually have time to stay at home 24/7. So I think most of these parents use the show as a means to give their wives a break while they stay at home and watch the kids. Because that way it’s would still count as working.
@@syutyutyu8332 idk, I’m korean American but it makes me feel uncomfortable when Korean artists do that because to them it’s just a concept and trend for the time being. They don’t understand the context and just wear it because they want to look cool. Personally I think that makes him look like a wannabe and honestly uncultured.
@MK-vc5jb Well, I understand your point of view. People love only the good things about Black people (people from Africa, African Americans, etc.) but never care about their history. However, I can see some change. For me, if you like something and you're respectful, it's okay, and vice versa. Black people are diverse.
