I lost my Dad last week. This was the first song I played leaving the hospital. What a tune. I will remember that moment for the rest of my life. The power of music. 🙏🏻
Sorry for your loss!
Rip
I'm glad these guys are getting the attention they deserve.
Keep doing what you're doing Bahamas!
if you add together James Gadson's and Pino Palladino's (drummer and bass player on the right side) years of experience, it must be close to a century !!! but beyond musicianship, Earthtones truly is beautiful because the songs are really good in the 1st place (No Wrong is my fave so far)
thanks for posting, peace from France
This music never get old. It speaks to the way people actually live, speaks to the way music should be.
Great melody. The woman singers make this version stand out compared to the Vevo version.
Duuuude! James Gadson on drums???? He is a LEGEND!!!
Does anyone know who the three backup singers are? They are talented and add so much to the harmony….
From left to right: Robin Dann (who apparently is a member of a band called Bernice), Felicity Williams (who's been working with Bahamas from his first albums), and Alanna Stuart. Found the names in the Earthstones' CD cover.
@@geekdesprairiesthanks…
Such a talented and under rated musician. A real minimalist sound that works.
This is what a good jam should be. The band chemistry is just lit.
I turned on the computer to play video games, but instead found you and it's been 5 hours of just listening to Bahamas and now I have to go to bed for work tomorrow.
Fantastic !!!!!!! Greeds from Germany
Seems like the whole band is having fun grooving in the pocket.
grooving right in the pit of the pocket my man.
Saw them here in Memphis last night , with Dawes...just fantastic!
Who's the redhead singer who's dressed like she's painting a room?
srujan00 she’s dressed like an Oompa Loompa
Love this
Those Kimmel fans had no idea what they had coming
From Portugal: gorgeous! Maravilha! Thanks. Obrigada. 😊
John Connor made it to 2018, gave up guns for guitars..
i get it, haha
Christine Bougie 🔥🙌killing it 👏👏👏👏💯
Not a criticism, just an observation on micro timing: Bahama's drummer tends to play VERY laid-back, which I think gives the band space... the drummer on the right (obviously a great drummer) instead seems to push forward, so this feels different from other live recordings of the same song.
seriously tho the main background singers hold this shit down
Is that pino palladino on bass?
Damn, Afie is really breaking it with this album. Wish I could have caught the Halifax show.
it was incredible.
Smoother than ‘70’s yacht rock.
He still has a way with words 👏👏👏😝
with the GREAT James Gasden on drums! WOW! Alfie does it again!
Yes, Bahamas! Show the world what great music sounds like.
If the camera operators/switchers had half a clue who this rhythm section was🤣
Can't wait!! See ya'll next week in Detroit
fantastic! I love the fact you are getting the exposure you deserve!
He looked so much better without that walrus mustache
JAS festival Aspen 2018 this weekend, play this song please!!!
This singer dude playing with Pino and James is pretty good! LOL, love Bahamas. Soulful.
Damn that is Pino and Gadson
Love this band, did from the first!
Hey, I think that's the drummer that played with Bill Withers for years. Same drummer as his live "Aint No Sunshine When Shes Gone" drummer. Please can someone refute or verify this?
Correct
Is there 2 basses and 2 drummers???
sorry for your loss, i hope you are doing okay 🙏
You all nailed it. The girls really nailed it.
They *always* nail it. They're incredible. Honestly, I love Afie, but it's the girls that make me cry everytime.
He is amazing! Love this!!
I love your songs... i really love them
SO FREAKING SOLID! PERFECTION!
Why two drummers?
I wish these guys would come to California often, haven't seen them since they opened for Jack Johnson years ago!
They were here. Just saw them Saturday in SF.
BEST band ever,!!!
I love y'all!🌹
Where do we get those Khaki t shirts?? I will wear them to his Philly show.
Wow, what a great performance! Really well done.
So perfect.
Love em
Я в восторге! классная музыка...
What's up with the dueling rhythm sections? Can someone who's seen this leg of the tour explain?
The dude drumming on the right is James Gadson (legendary drum session musician) - him and the bassist on the right (Pino Palladino) spent time in the studio with Afie, which is where the three of them created 10 songs for the new album, which Afie then recorded with his band (everyone else on stage). I'm assuming this is why there's an extra bass and kit for this set.
I was reading an interview Afie did, and he explains that he wrote the songs, and then during the recording he told James Gadson and Pino Palladino to "follow their musical instincts." So I dont think Gadson and Palladino created Afie's songs for this album, but they definitely influenced the sound.
fashpart Yeah my bad, that was poorly explained. I meant that Afie created them alongside the duo :)
Andrew Lavers good call.. But I think most knew what you meant.
Ugh this is so goooooood!
sluurrrppppp^^
On dirait Kavin Parent, même voix
Sans le bonbon dans la limonade.
Loving this!!!
Kind of feel like the mix let the ladies down a bit, they're so great but mix sounds a little flat at times unfortunately.
why 2 drummers? really?
is that 2 bass players as well? WTF??
Michael Weston why not have two music industry legends (who also helped create the album) join your regular band for a special performance?
because it's not necessary for this performance? they seem to be playing the exact same part most of the time
Michael Weston the two guitars (afie and Christine bougie), and the two bassists (Pino palladino and Bahamas' touring bassist) are doing single part harmonies at certain parts of the song, and having two sets of bass players/drummers serves to fatten up the sound, and since they're all incredibly capable musicians, they don't sacrifice any of that tasty pocket they're grooving in
Cause Motown 💪❤️
i like this band, but I will not buy anything as long as I'm subject ed to an ad each time i try to hear something
I hope your joking
If i'm totally honest, I'm finding this a little beige in general... Nice, but nothing noticeably noteworthy (sorry Bahamas). I feels he's gone for that Jack Johnson(JJ) style, but I don't see this as heartfelt. JJ's entrance to music was accidental, and his style is very natural to his surfing lifestyle, and musical context in general; consequently very relaxed and soulful with a pacific twist. (if you don't know JJ started as a photographer/videographer for big wave surfers; (who he was one of; but he had a massive bail onto the reef at pipeline and got into music in recovery)) This, apologies, felt a bit forced.Good stuff, don't get me wrong but keep it up; there's certainly fans...
Couldn’t hear the beige, just great music played by a band including 2 legends.....the pocket was right there👌
Honestly, those are some of the best musicians on the planet on that stage. And if you don't hear transcendent guitar tone from a strat and a telecaster playing harmoniously I feel sorry for you. Not to mention the melody and song in general are very well written.
What are you going on about. Ove never heard jack Johnson have this much groove in the pocket or musicianship as good as this. Give me a break
