I’m a male professional ballet and contemporary dancer here in Canada. I absolutely love more mainstream creators learning about our careers and how many unknowns there are, we are artist and athletes and always are sore! Thank you so much for the video, hope you loved it as much as I do everyday
Thank you for not putting pointe shoes on! So many influencers who try ballet for the first time try to throw on pointe shoes and it can be very discouraging for the young girls (or adults) who have trained for years to earn them to see people just throwing on pointe shoes for views. I am looking forward to watching you grow into a better person and challenging yourself to do hard things. It is a great reminder that growth is a pillar of life. I might just have to get back into the ballet studio again. (I did ballet for 20 years and stopped going during the pandemic). You’re the best! ❤
Love this! Former ballerina here. If you tuck your tailbone you will look even more professional and engage your core and muscles even more. Please give us a follow-up on how your muscles felt the next day and if you will continue classes. Best of luck to you on your journeys ❤
That's my ballet studio in Stockholm!!! Just started my first adult ballet classes there after 15 years of break. Ballet is so humbling - even if you have danced one way or another your whole life. But such a beautiful art form
Please go for it and do the 30 day ballet challenge! I’ve danced my whole life, and the amount you improved in just one day was seriously impressive. It was awesome to see the moment you found your core and started ~moving~ like a dancer! Keep up the great work and keep moving in ways that bring you joy ❤
I'm a great believer in learning new things. Even hard things. Even if you are wise in your years. I took up the Cello last year at age 45. Learning new physical skills is the same. We need to embrace being a beginner at any age. Embrace sucking at the start (that's entirely to point!). We need to let go of the idea that we need to become great at something to make it worthwhile. It is enough to find joy in the learning and improve in our own way, in our own time. And great for cognitive health as well! I loved this video.
This is so unbelievably respectful and lovely. Thank you for educating others on how difficult this art form can be but also always being so open, vulnerable and kind in a world that needs it ❤
Keltie, you are amazing 🤩 i’m sixteen now and i’ve been studying ballet professionally for the most part of my conscious life (for over 9 years now). And because it’s a very severe form of dance and art in general, i think, i was thinking of literally quitting it lately for some less difficult dance techniques. But after i watched your video i understood how unique our job is, how much effort i’ve already put and why i should continue doing it! thank you so much for your wonderful videos i watch them ever since my early teenage years especially when i have some sort of hard time in my life, they really help me with becoming more aligned with myself and give me tons of positive energy and inspiration ❤❤❤❤ love u 😍
Oh my gosh I am so proud of you!! I’ve been where you are many times in life on verge of quitting something hard. Love that you came to the conclusion for yourself it’s worth the fight 🩵 proud of you and good luck with your professional ballet journey SO PROUD 🫶
There's a phrase in gardening - "The best time to plant a tree was yesterday" - which basically says that it's never a bad time to plant a tree (even if there are more *ideal* times). Hobbies are like that! Never a bad time to start a new hobby. As someone who picked up irish dance as an adult (picked it back up, really, after doing it for a year-ish when I was a kid), I'm with you on this dance journey. I commiserate with you as a former athlete trying to properly turn out your feet 🤝
I started barre classes one month into my fitness journey (it was dance fitness like Zumba at first). I now do HIIT and strength training, but barre really helped in building up that strength and - if I dare say - stamina (from all the jumping). And for that, ballet / barre holds a special place in my heart! So glad you enjoyed it!
What would you do if you weren't afraid? That's the question I began asking myself a few years ago when I heard a young youtube couple say it consistently on their channel. The answer was ballet! I'm an adult who started ballet at 25. I've been dancing now for almost 6 years and I'm now the best in my class. I started pointe after about 3 years and I'm still completely obsessed. One of the things that really inspired me to start taking ballet was videos of a very old woman who was dancing en pointe. I thought, "If she can do it, then I see no reason why I shouldn't also be able to do it." Do whatever you want to do in life! Thinking about what could have been if you'd started a year ago is one perspective and it works both ways! Think of how far you could/WILL be a year from now with consistent practice!
your balle intructor reminds me of my soccer coach from middle school. she would always be in a t-shirt, jeans, and crocs or barefoot while we were all in full soccer gear yet she had this casual way of being better at it then us like she was never trying. this was just a relaxing easy morning for her because she was so good. its so awesome when people are that good at something.
I couldn't stop smiling through this whole video! I'm not a dancer but love that you're trying new (and scary) things! also the comment section made me smile even more!
Actually so impressed and so happy with the way you did this video. So many content creators try take the shortest way and just do a 'Going en pointe in a day' or 'Becoming a ballerina in a week' and even with supervision it is very dangerous to go all in lacking the flexibility, strength or endurance (or a combination of all 3). So it is very refreshing seeing someone enjoy ballet from the basics and just seeing where that journey might take them. Thank you so much, great video and very inspiring as well
Thanks so much Keltie! I am halfway through a data analyst course, changed career from nurse to that. I used to think i am too old at 30 to change careers, but what pushed me forward was thinking that i might regret it at 40. Happy to not feel alone ❣️
As a ballet teacer this made me so happy. I love ballet and am so happy to see more people exploring it. AlsoI bought LMNT from your code last video. Had it every day since OMG why did I not try this sooner. Will buy again and again...
Aaah! I clicked on this video so fast! I started ballet 10 years ago when I was 30. It feeds a part of my soul I can't ignore. Keep doing it if you love it!!!! The world needs more of that!
Keltie! I love your videos, I feel so inspired by watching them. Being an adult beginner ballerina (been taking class twice a week for 6 months now) I got SO excited when I saw this video. I hope you stay with it!! I love seeing more adults doing things like this ☺️
Welcome to the world of adult ballet…i stumbled on your video and I’m glad that you have shown the side of ballet people don’t know. As someone who started ballet as an adult, people always think of it something that’s easy and they just stand on their tippy toes and prance around…and it is very much the opposite. It’s hard work to make it look easy. And it’s also helped me so much mentally and physically…for that 1.5 hours that i take ballet class for, nothing else matters except the music and the movement. I hope you keep it up, as honestly once you get the bug - its incredibly addictive!
Ooh I loved this! I did ballet as a child and then played tennis competitively for years. Went back to ballet when I was 19. and did it for nearly ten years until I got injured! This video made me so nostalgic and inspired me to get back to the studio! ❤
As a dance teacher, I love your initial description of ballet and dancers. I think ballet would be really good for your pelvic tilt issues, if you tell the teacher you want corrections for it. In the meantime, when your arms are out to the sides, bring your arms more forward. Elbows in front of your body. It will be easier to adjust and maintain your posture. I’m so glad you finally tried it and gave other newbies a great look at what to expect!
I was so excited to see this video because I just started adult ballet lessons again this fall after stopping when I was 14. I would love to see a 30 day ballet challenge video!! ❤
It is SO wonderful to hear you saying "Why not?!" about seriously learning ballet. Ballet is a discipline so the more you do it, the better you understand it and the more easily you can breathe in and convey through it. All the flowers to you, Keltie! --From one ballet dancer to another, welcome!
I am unspeakably proud of you. I feel you soo much and it’s greatly motivating to watch people do what they always wanted. It’s never too late. Looking forward to see your shows and dancing along to your music 🩰💕 Also such a funny coincidence: I’m going to my first ever ballet class tomorrow at 25. And I would really love to start a RUclips channel too. But one step at a time :)
This is soo cool. I also started my ballet journey late last year as well. And my goodness it is tough!! Like really really tough. You definitely get an incredible appreciation for ballet dancers because the way that make it look effortless despite the enormous amount of effort they put in is legitimately insane. I have no idea how they do it.
Yayyyyyy Keltie this makes me so happy!!! I know there's this idea that you have to start as basically a baby in order to be a ballerina, but honestly the dance world is so welcoming to adult beginners. I guarantee you will find a warm, joyful community of older dancers in any place you search for one. If taking these classes challenged you and made you happy, I totally think you should do more!
Hi, long time viewer first time commenter! As a dancer/dance teacher I am so glad you went for it. Whenever I meet someone who wants to dance but thinks they missed their window I tell them that everyone can dance, it’s just a matter of trying. I also think that the majority of us in the dance community love to share our joy of dance with everyone: so those who want to try please don’t feel intimidated, we love dancing with you. And can I say for your first try you were awesome!
Fun fact, you do the same exercises from the time your a kid to the time you retire! They are also much the same across the world (though different schools/ styles exist)
8:00 I was going to ask if there was a live piano player. Earlier in the video, she said, “maybe that was too fast,” and then the music kicked off again. And for a moment, I thought maybe that was added in editing, but it was just so perfectly timed, I had to know!
I’m so excited for this! As a dancer and ballet teacher, I’m so sorry that you were yelled at for wearing jeans to a class! That breaks my heart that was your experience but I’m so excited for you to give it another try. It is never too late to try ballet and I really hope you have a better experience this time around. Also you look great in class and think about the ballet core outfits! You got this! 💗
Yay🎉 I love dance so much and this video was awesome! Ballet is so, so hard. You looked beautiful out on the floor. A very impressive first day. You seemed to be enjoying it and picking it up quickly. You should definitely think about taking some more classes. Great job!❤️
Keltie, I'm so glad you went to those classes! And you were actually really impressive, seems like you picked everything up so easily! One note: Though the beginning at the bar is part of the preparation and warm-up, it is also dancing! Our ballet teacher was always really adamant about it. You dance and are "present" from the start!
I did ballet for about a year at 26 and I loved it! Was also and adult beginner but it was so fun and felt like I was fulfilling a childhood dream. I definitely want to start dancing again soon, as soon as I finish degree this spring. Hope everyone watches this and also feels like they should try the things they’ve always wanted!
I took ballet classes in high school and college and it was always so fun, being able to jump and do leaps were my favorite!!! Hopefully sometime in the future I can do it again!
I’m a dancer turned runner who just started training in running a few months ago since I graduated from dance college. It’s great to see runners/athletes trying ballet as well! I actually plan on using ballet on my cross training days to get in more range of motion and some resistance 🩰🏃🏽♀️
Keltie, this is so awesome!! It's seriously cool to see someone trying something they've always wanted to try so I commend you ♡ I relate to this so strongly. I'm also an adult dancer and I've been doing ballet for a little over a year. I danced fo 12 years through grade school but never did ballet because I was a) unflexible as all get out and b) one of the few black girls at my dance school. I did hip and tap (and swimming and basketball) instead because I thought that was where someone like me belonged, but I've always wondered what could have been if I'd just persevered. Flash forward to now, I work remotely as a product designer full-time - which is definitely something no one thought I could achieve - and suddenly I just had the thought. "Am I really too old to do ballet?" "Is it really impossible for me to be flexible?" So after I got married and no longer had wedding planning to keep me busy, I decided to try an adult class. I was just like you, shocked at how hard it was and completely lost the entire time, but this time unlike when I was little I was determined not to give up. I consistently attended class and even supplemented in person with classes from Kathryn Morgan on youtube when I was traveling or busy (she's an amazing resource if you're wanting to learn more about ballet). And I very proud to say that I sit here now at 30 years old, literally this very moment, holding my very first pair of pointe shoes and about to start beginner pointe classes. We can truly do anything we set our minds to! So I will be here watching your journey, to ballet and DJing and whatever you pursue, and cheering you on! Good luck lady! You got this 👏🏾
This was really fun to watch! I did ballet when I was really young, and wanted to when I was older but didn’t have time, and have considered adult or virtual classes if time allows, just to see if I like it.
Keltie, this was awesome! I watched your “new series intro” video right before this, and I want to say your music choices for both videos were so on point! I know your music production education was not necessarily in choosing music for videos specifically, but I do think that skill has improved. I think the format for this video was also really comfortable to watch. Keep up the great work!
I once completed the Barre programme with BeachBody and loved it - I’d never seen my legs look so toned and fit. It totally shocked me. You are so right - ballerinas so not get enough recognition for their skill and athleticism . Thank you Keltie for another great video.
I love this so much. ❤ Dance was my ‘sport’ from 4th grade through high school. I cried when I left it, but I was definitely just a recreational ballet dancer, not a pre-professional. I did my first adult ballet intensive in 2023 and I was excited just like you are in this video. Thank you for taking on this 24-hour challenge.
I love this so much for you! I started ballet four years ago in my 30s and this video also was a much needed reminder of how far I have come. Ballet can be very frustrating at times, because there is always something that needs improving. Also I loved the teachers, they were so nice and respectful to you as a beginner. Walking is soooo hard!🤪
I've been taking ballet for about a couple of years now as part of my figure skating cross-training. I have found that ballet has changed so much, even in the gym! I notice more how my breath and movement syncs, and even how in the gym my ribs would flare when doing an OHP.
It has always amazed me at how high level ballet seems effortless. I have seen 2nd companies and relative beginners and there is generally a slight break between movements. Never noticeable at a high level absolute seamlessly.❤
Coming from being a performance and strength athlete like yourself, I loved watching this! Dancing has always seemed so magical and fun ✨ but also extremely hard because I’m the most inflexible person on the planet lol. Goes to show everyone starts somewhere! Excited for this new series 🩷 thanks for making inspirational videos!
As a lifelong dancer I am so happy to see this in my feed! It's never too late to start and I'm so glad that you went back to class. Do I see a 30 days of ballet or jazz in our future?? :)
Keltie, I para-socially love you so much! Your videos always surprise me and leave me feeling so inspired! Immediately did a search for bar warm-ups just to put some thing on my watch list. I only took a year of dance in high school and a season of indoor colorguard, but I’m so grateful for those fundamentals. It’s carried with me through life because I’ve never forgotten those movements and warm-ups, and as I learned how to work out on my own in college, I had good fundamentals to do so. And your video of trying different Pilates gave me a lot of good resources, to look up those content creators, and learn that Blogilates is not what Pilates truly is (I just never knew she was putting her own spin on it. It’s hard and I love it). And last year I listened to a great episode of the Maintenance Phase podcast where they talked about the man who invented Pilates, and how he was honestly one of the least problematic People that they’d cover on the show! So I’m looking forward to getting into the more traditional style of Pilates, or at least how it’s viewed in the modern era. 💜🖤💜🖤 I love this channel so much! 🥰🥰🥰
I tried a ballet class at 27 with no experience whatsoever and I loved it! I was terrible haha but it was so much fun and it really helped me get back in touch with my body and exercise after getting pretty unfit.
I’m no ballerina but this makes me miss dance. I love seeing so many beginner adult dancers these days. Maybe I can find some dance classes near me and start again. Also, you’re an adorable dancer!
YES!! I LOVE the theme of this series to not stop on your goals even when we are older. I tried ballett when I was a kid but aparently didn't like it. So when I tried again in college it was really fun for me.
Im 18 and ive been doing competitive irish dancing for as long as i can remember and it has made me realise how memtally and physically hard dance can be. I have a huge admiration for all types of dance and i would love to attempt different styles. I have a friend who does contemporary and knows a bit abt ballet so we always just jump around the school showing eachother moves. Love your videos and you shoukd try irish dance some time because its a challeng8ng way of moving your body ❤ from ireland 🇮🇪
As a dancer I would love to see you do a month of ballet! You have pretty good turnout and body awareness already so I think you'd improve pretty quickly :)
Bravo Keltie. You did very well. I was impressed with your faith position jumps. Dancing on the balls of the feet is also done in Ballroom Dancing. I am looking forward to you new series. I am also glad you are doing things that you always wanted to do.
I have been waiting for this video from you for YEARS. I would love for you to try a 30 day ballet challenge. Maybe you’d also like to try other styles of dance? Give another jazz class a try 😅 Or maybe modern/contemporary. You might really love it!
Hiiii! I love you and your channel, so different than others and enjoyable, so down to earth and creative! I would love to see a 30 day ballet challenge
I loved this video so much Keltie :) I usually watch in the background while doing other things, but for this one I stopped what I was doing and actually watched!
I just love it!!!! Bravo to put yourself in such a challenge. I’m a professional dancer and teacher from Italy working Between Dubai and wherever it will take me. And is not to all to learn something new, I’m experiencing the same since I will start a 3 years naturopathy school Great job
Oh my gosh this is SO COOL!!!! How exciting!!!! I remember my first ever ballet class when I was like…4?…they made us wear tutus and that was literally the whole class and I hate it and never went back because I just wanted to learn the dancing part 😂😂😂 oh the things we do as children hahaha Awesome, Keltie!! This is so fun and brings joy to the inner child in all of us that we honestly all need to let come out and play.
My best friend used to say “the highest form of a complement I can hear is ballet looks so easy, because that means I’ve done my job correctly”.
I’m a male professional ballet and contemporary dancer here in Canada. I absolutely love more mainstream creators learning about our careers and how many unknowns there are, we are artist and athletes and always are sore! Thank you so much for the video, hope you loved it as much as I do everyday

I love ballet. I can not get anyone to go watch a performance with me. I think it is beautiful and emotional.
This is exciting. Thank you for sharing.
As someone who is turning 32 soon and just started taking tennis lessons after never playing before, I am loving this! Such a wholesome endeavor!
The groin is a gift to be developed, articulated & appreciated. Never pulled nor neglected.
You looked so great doing it!! So glad you gave it a try! I can’t wait for the new trailer on Sat!! 💕
It's seriously cool to see someone trying something they've always wanted to try so I commend you ♡
I relate to this so strongly.
❤❤❤ I cannot wait for this series!!! I'm here for it all!!!
Keltie, this was awesome! I watched your “new series intro” video right before this, and I want to say your music choices for both videos were so on point! I know your music production education was not necessarily in choosing music for videos specifically, but I do think that skill has improved. I think the format for this video was also really comfortable to watch. Keep up the great work!
as a dancer in college who also loves to run, and workout. I'm so excited for this video. WE ARE ALL DANCERS
I once completed the Barre programme with BeachBody and loved it - I’d never seen my legs look so toned and fit. It totally shocked me. You are so right - ballerinas so not get enough recognition for their skill and athleticism . Thank you Keltie for another great video.
I was a dancer all growing up for 15 years so this video took me back to my ballet days :) thanks for the dance video!!!
I've attempted to get into ballet as an adult but it is so intimidating! I'm looking forward to your 30 days of ballet challenge (DO ITTTT)
So excited to see more of this series! And can't wait to hear your music!!
I've been taking ballet for about a couple of years now as part of my figure skating cross-training. I have found that ballet has changed so much, even in the gym! I notice more how my breath and movement syncs, and even how in the gym my ribs would flare when doing an OHP.
as a former dancer, I love seeing you trying a new activity!! you are doing amazing sweetie!!
It takes courage for non-dancers to step into a real ballet class! Amazing ❤ and I hope you keep it up
As a lifelong dancer I am so happy to see this in my feed!
I love this channel so much! 🥰🥰🥰
Omg i'm excited for you to release music for workouts. I just started running and i need to find the type of music to hype me up
I love this! You should try training like a dancer for a week doing Pilates and dumbbell workouts and conditioning and yoga only!!!
I don’t even have to watch the video to know I need to hit like! I always look forward to your vids 🥰🥰🥰 and all the hard work you put in!?? Slay
Anything on sound cloud yet!? Ooo girl I’m sooooo excited! 🫶🏼
Shout out to ballerinas! You guys are incredible! I'm sure you felt so sore afterwards, Keltie, but it was great watching you enjoy yourself!
I would love to see you try aerial arts (I’m an aerialist)! The fabrics (silks & sling) are going to be less painful than Lyra and chains!
Bravo Keltie. You did very well. I was impressed with your faith position jumps. Dancing on the balls of the feet is also done in Ballroom Dancing. I am looking forward to you new series. I am also glad you are doing things that you always wanted to do.
as a dancer myself i love how you appreciate the craft as a beginner
I am so beyond impressed by dancers!
What you're doing is inspiring and I'm grateful for it ❤
Love this! @thepointeshop should do a "shoes for newbies!"
it's so motivating to try new things 🥹
I’m so proud of you for perusing a dream! You’re never to old to try something new ❤
I loved this video so much Keltie :) I usually watch in the background while doing other things, but for this one I stopped what I was doing and actually watched!
I love this. As a dancer as well as someone who wants to get out of their confort zone!!! ❤❤
This video made me so happy! Love your content
I just love it!!!! Bravo to put yourself in such a challenge. I’m a professional dancer and teacher from Italy working Between Dubai and wherever it will take me. And is not to all to learn something new, I’m experiencing the same since I will start a 3 years naturopathy school
Great job
Oh my gosh this is SO COOL!!!! How exciting!!!!
I remember my first ever ballet class when I was like…4?…they made us wear tutus and that was literally the whole class and I hate it and never went back because I just wanted to learn the dancing part 😂😂😂 oh the things we do as children hahaha
Awesome, Keltie!! This is so fun and brings joy to the inner child in all of us that we honestly all need to let come out and play.
I started adult ballet classes in my mid 20’s, having never danced a child. It’s wonderful.
I love the new aesthetic and oh how I love the messaging on your channel
This is my new favorite video of yours!!
Im a ballerina! Im so excited that your trying this! Especially because your already very strong and a little flexible!
I just restarted ballet after not dancing for 10 years! I only did it for a tiny bit in high school but I’m so happy to be back ❤
You did so good in the second class ❤. Sooo much progress!
