I listen to a lot of 80s music /90s brit pop. It was such a brilliant time to be young. Music meant so much to us. Makes me sad how kids these days will never have that shared passion that my generation had, and still has for music. They don't seem to care as much.
How the hell can a vocalist this impressive disappear off the map ? Mansun were one of the great lost bands, yet they completely vanished. Paul Draper was up there with the late Billy Mackenzie for sheer vocal gymnastics. I hope he returns, nobody with that kind of talent can remain silent forever.
I miss Mansun so much. Hope Paul Draper brings out an album soon. He has such a great voice! 1 of my fav tracks was 'Disgusting'. Any1 else like that 1?
I foolishly dismissed this song when I first saw the video on CH4 way back. Then I saw Mansun supporting Suede on the Coming Up tour and they blew me away! Grey Lantern is a classic album and Mansun were epic live!
I have 3 songs that will never leave my Top 5...How soon is now...She sells sanctuary...and this absolute banger....this song with those vocals is utterly stunning ❤❤❤
The Attack Of The Grey Lantern, Mansun's debut album, CHANGED MY LIFE. Every epic track and concept was genius and still is in 2009 and 3009 and beyond. Its like a great Classical Piece. End of story!
Jonathan Maher Sadly most of them don't like each other so probably won't happen. I saw Paul Draper last year in Bristol. Fantastic little gig. Going again in February.😊
reminds me of waking up one misty easter sunday morning at a hockey festival exactly where i'd passed out in the club bar the night before! This was playing on the radio as i awoke from my slumber!! Ahhh... good times!
Lol, I remember wondering how they got the girls voice to morph into a guys so smoothly. Then I saw the video and was blown away at draper's vocal range. Dm
the first i herd and seen them was the most unlikely gig. they were supportin Page and plant(Led Zepplin) in the point in Dublin in 1998 six was just out. They were class and that was me hooked.
This was the first time I saw Mansun, and I thank Chris Evans for beinging them to my attention. As for people feeling sorry for them - it's probably because, like so much great talent, they were nowhere near as huge as they should have been - largely overlooked in favour of the latest Oasis album or whatever. Oh well, won't be here so I don't care.
@EnglanEOfficial They sold a few of them in a Chester music shop back in around '97-'98, there was a semi-hollow Gibson with the roses on, another I can't remember and a plain black Gibson Les Paul. I now own the Les Paul :-)
Bring back TFI.. it was fuckin brilliant.. great bands funny stuff...freak-or-unique.. what ever happened to our good tv..ah thats it..political correctness..bolloksed it all up..
@bucephalus00 amen dude... i was born '89 and thus not really old enough to have been listening to the music in its time. still i find today's music just doesn't cut it when compared to '90s britpop for example. i mean take kings of leon and the killers for example... they're the biggest bands in the world and their music doesn't speak to me at all
Their album SIX is necessary for.human life
It's literally the only reason aliens haven't annihilated us
And little did we know this was the pinnacle of everything
Always thought this song was one of the best from that decade.

Music was everything for due! Would spend hours (all day) in record and cd shops.
I miss the communal passion that we all had for this music.
They've got no souls nowadays.

Rob Jones I saw him live last month. His new solo album is fantastic!😊😊
Also appears on a track with The Anchoress ... "You and Only You"
Been living in England since 2005……nothing perfect like this

A tip : watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Ahmed Miles Definitely, I've been using flixzone} for years myself =)
We were in this studio for THIS performance. Going quietly nuts with the jumping!
