After all the issues I had getting to my cruise this time. missing my flights. getting pulled aside at customs not once but twice in two days. I am really nervouse going through security again getting off the cruise ship.

I love Galveston! Being a Texan I go there every time I can, it is an island and something magical about it. Vast Texas History! Hope you enjoy the delicious seafood, go to where the locals eat. Visit the Strand. An awesome sweet community in Texas 🥰❤️🌺💖
Galveston is the armpit of the TX coast-but for some reason, I love it there
The reason the water is so brown in Galveston, is because the Mississippi river flows down into the golf, bringing all the settlement and the golf stream comes up to the shore in this area. Down further south near corpus and South Padre Island the water is blue.
I remember that the airports had a special lane for people who travel frequently. You had to be cleared ahead of time and put on a list of flyers who are cleared from the regular scrutiny. Maybe there is such a thing for cruise lines too.
The beach looks so hazy.
I can understand Don's anxiety. Almost 49 years, ago, I set off alarms at O'Hare. I was traveling with my Dad and younger sister. My Mom's casket was in the cargo hold of the plane we were taking to St. Louis. I was "wanded," patted down and questioned. Nothing was found, but the trauma has real and never left me. My left hip has set off alarms, intermittently, ever since. I'm anxious...and it shows...whenever I go through airport security.
The last hotel is the San Luis Resort (owned by Landry - almost all accommodations and restaurants/entertainment on the Island are owned by that company). I stayed there a few times. Very nice place.

You are going to get through security and get home safely. Have you in prayer. It is just another "bump" in life's journey.
So glad everything worked out okay for you. I'm right there with you when it comes to the coast.....I love the sound of the waves and looking out over the ocean. Don, you HAVE to make it to the Florida panhandle around Destin/Ft Walton, Panama City. The sand is so white. When they had snow recently, you couldn't tell where the snow ended and the sand begin, it seemed to all be the same color.
Ive been to Galveston many times, the water ALWAYS looks like that, kind of brownish gray

Glad you made it through Don. I can imagine wondering whether the fact that you were flagged before would then move you up in the flag list based only on the fact that you were previously flagged. The system thinking, where there is smoke there is fire, even though the only smoke came from their own flags.
He is probably singled out because of his frequent trips in and out of the country. Probably suspect drug mule
Be sure to eat at Guido’s and check out Moody Gardens while you are in Galveston.
Also Eat at Boulevard Seafood on 29th and Seawall.

My tiny carryon bags have been searched twice in every Mexican airport I've been to, and also St. Martin. I've never flown to Canada, road trips only.
My bags get searched every single time i enter a Disney park. The security people are nice, but it is a pain.

Well I would say you had every reason to be nervous!!! With your crazy flight and stuff getting there. We LOVE Galveston. We were lucky to be there when the water was blue and clear, it was gorgeous. there was also swimming while we were there. We were down on the other side of Pleasure pier and so a bit west of where you are in the video. Great place though...we love it. :)

The Biggest Hotel past the volcano is the San Luis, used to have a condo there.

I think Galveston could use some palm trees in the area.
Once I saw other beaches as an adult I knew it was not the prettiest beach but it works. And when you can go in the water it is like bathtub warm water.

Don, you must really love beaches because Galveston is just about the ug.iest one. I live an hour from there and have been there countless times. Nothing like the Caribbean as you can plainly see. I hope you make it thru customs without a hitch and have a safe flight home.
Enjoy Galveston. Its beautiful. That is where we cruise from, almost exclusively. We live in Texas. Actually going on the Miracle on Feb. 7th.

I've been walking around all day and sat down for a break. When I started the video, I was surprised to see that you are filming at the spot I decided to take my rest break. Galveston is absolutely beautiful today.
Saw where you are still in Galveston. Just got on Carnival Jubilee for a 7 day. Would have been nice to see you on here.
Galveston is our cruising port. If you have time you should eat a katy's seafood restaurant over by the carnival cruise terminal.
I’m soo sorry you have had that problem. I did my 40th birthday couple weeks ago at the hilton hotel. had a nice view of the beach. we ate at the rainforest cafe and ihop. of corse bubba gump as well. I live in houston, hope it gets better for u. security is tight down here.
I like going to grocery stores in other states or countries. Always so interesting. Glad you made it. Have fun in TX.
Hi Don Excellent that you did not have more inspections, since you are in Galveston I recommend Miller's for lunch or breakfast and if you want a good seafood dinner Gaido's one of the oldest restaurants in Galveston

Last time in Galveston we stayed at Comfort Inn next to the Krogers. We made a pit stop there before we left for the port.

We go down to Galveston pretty regularly sites eat some good seafood & relax. Little Daddy’s gumbo bar on Post Office st. is great! The small bowl is huge.
As you are getting off I am getting ready for my cruise trip heading out of LA to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, Cabo San Lucas off the Carnival Panorama. Hope that you get home safely and have no issues with the Airline.

Glad that you made it okay. It sucks but I guess you can understand how victims feel when someone approaches them. Hopefully with time you will get over it. It never fair but I love how you maintain a cheerful spirit when it was easy to just put out negative content. I think that what attracted me to your channel was that despite having some odds stack against you, you were making the best of things. Geez I still remember the green screen of the ocean you used to do :-D

It's only annoying during hurricane season. The rest of the time, it's amazing to leave near the ocean.
Cool to see you on a TX beach - I only live 45 minutes or so from Galveston - we are so happy to have cruise ships coming to Galveston - although last yr we flew to Ft Lauderdale to get on Sun Princess and will do again (Lord Willing) in Nov 2025 + I still love Galveston especially on a non-crowed winter day.
How do you like living there? We live in AZ but we are considering TX.

There is swimming on parts of that beach but you wouldn't want to go this time of year. You shoukd see it in the summer.
Go to Rita’s! It’s on the other side of Kroger. We were on the Disney Magic the week before your cruise. The waves were so high that we couldn’t walk on the beach. We had a rental car and drove to Texas City to go to Bucky’s. Yum! We love that Hilton.

Was there in Galveston years ago and saw a water spout. Is Joe's crab shack still there? It's always nice at a beach until a big storm comes in.
I still love the ocean / beach in a storm!! I live a few blocks east of the Pacific Ocean in Oregon!! I LOVE IT!!
I thought maybe those rocks were earthquake area from all the recent eq's off the shore there.
