I like your remarks about qualities a tour guide must have, however, I would add another important quality that a tour guide have to be aware of,which is how to understand the guests psychological background of travelers. There are different people with different moods such the nurturer, adventurer, organizer and thinker. ...another important element of a tour guide is being able to differentiate between different nationalities cultural background to avoid what we d call a cultural shock.
Mr. Gus, thank you for such interesting and comprehensive perspectives of your 13 Tour Guide's qualities. Strongly agree that these qualities really separate the excellent from the mediocre guides. Learned a lot!
I'm a tour guide with international tourists with about 3 years' experience in South America and I find your list terrific. I'll make it a point to watch this one video of yours once a week in order to stay focused on not just doing the job, but excelling in it. Thank you very much indeed!!
Thank you so much! Very deep understanding of qualities and of your own essence. Actually could not believe I have gained 11 out of 13 in my random life experiences. Will help on my first adventure tour this summer. With you all the best!

In doing this you need to learn just as a five year old in pronouncing the sounds of the letters which may be difficult if your from east Asia but you can do it. I was a foreigner in another country and it did not matter how much of their vocabulary I knew until I learned their dialect they did not know what I was saying even if I learned their language. I first had to become like a child and learn to pronounce the sound of each letter of their alphabet. This will seem tedious but it will be the platform of communication. You can do it. Hi, I am a tour guide in Korea. To me difficult part is food : it is hard to find the food that makes customers happy, It is a stress to me because I want to bring them to the restaurant where they go crazy about the food haha.
Woow, I would like to be an art museum guide, I've just started to feeling inside of me that this path might be my passion also great choice for profession 😍 But I know its going to be hard. Coz of criticism, gotta work on myself, communication, psychology ecct, it's not just a simple guide telling stuff, it does take a real big gut, I'm aware of that, dunno where to start, but I looove to start somwhere, so I will. Also I speak many languages. It's going to be an opportunity.
