Thanks mate. This spot is a ripper, I look forward to getting back there again. PS... I've watched your video on my TV and LOVED it. I will head over and drop a comment shortly when I catch up here. 👍👍
'The water's still quite clear, I can see a big carp' - many would say that anywhere there are carp, the water will be muddy. Seems like you just disproved that theory, interesting .... Good to see Doug's Punchmaster in action!
4:31 I always do this when rigging running sinkers 😂, I always tie on the swivel, tie the leader but forget the sinker 😂😂. Keep up the awesome work Robbie! Good to seee you out and about! Tight lines brotha! 🤙🎣🤙🎣🤙🎣
Thanks so much Pete. I find my underwater camera very fascinating. In my video on Sunday night a platypus comes and forages in front of my camera. That is really cool!
Thanks so much mate. 👍👍 I too enjoy watching longer videos from other creators. The problem with fishing is that the length of the video is determined by how well the fish are biting. Haha
Murray cod season starts on Sunday day so hyped i get to fish the first open day. hope everything is going good. love your videos there always a good laugh . love the go pro videos and watching the fish swim by.
The minnows look look like Western Carp Gudgeon (Native species) or a very similar species, I've caught lots in bait traps along the Ovens river. Great video Robbie, love stuff like this
No point fishing the Ovens at the moment at Eurobin, it is running a spate and dirty to boot, still the sun is shining and watching Robbie catching carp!
The 'minnows' look like gambusia (mosquito fish) Robbie. They are a live bearing introduced species similar to the aquarium guppy without the colours. In a couple of frames the dark gravid spot is visible in the pregnant females.
Awesome, thanks so much mate. I often catch them in my shrimp nets. I had suspected they may have been Gambusia but wasn't in a position to speculate as I don't know a lot about these small minnows. Thank you. 👍👍
Love it Robbie I’ve never seen you use a wagler float I catch so many goldfish using them as well as carp captain frank and Doug got me interested in them and never look back but you hafto get the depth right
Thanks mate. I had never used them either until Captain Frank and Doug sent me a few. Haha they're amazing aren't they. Doug does a fantastic job making them.
great video mate can't wait for cod season ill be at lake Eppalock cod don't really bite at lake Eppalock I've heard tho might try for some redfin put my yabby net in local dam and only got frogs haha
G’day Robbie. Luckily you cam back and turned your camera on, lol. This is a totally different area you’re fishing in? Great bit of underwater filming as well mate. Great video, Robbie.
Thanks so much Wayne. Haha I have experienced the disappointment before of not filming. LOL 🤣🤣 Yes, this is the first time that I have fished in this spot.
hey Robbie I think your excused from kicking that Carp out of the water, that Dorsal Fin would be a trip to the Hospital for sure and a painful one at that. that Minnow almost looks translucent, that could be a hint to what it is.
Thanks Mohammed. I have been thinking about them a lot lately. I don't actually have any, but I grew up using them. An Alvey Sidecast with 30lb nylon fishing line was what we used to use for cod. I remember one day my dad hooked a big fish on a yabby. As he was feeling it in, the line wrapped around the handles of the reel instead of filling into the spool and he had a huge tangle... And lost the fish. LOL
@mohammednovalija haha To be honest I am not sure what ever happened to them. I guess they got thrown out as they got replaced. I will have to ask my dad if he still has them in his shed.
Wangaratta is my usual fishing trip spot now haha love it can catch every fish love the underwater camera great content mate keep it up do you reckon my 3foot 5 rod is good for a bait rod to drown some worms at a lake casted close in? probably lake Eppalock
Thanks mate. I was born here and lived here all of my life. I will never leave Wang. 👍👍 That rod should be fine mate. It won't cast as far as a longer rod but it will definitely work. 👍👍
Thanks mate. I use a DJI action 4 for most of my filming. My underwater camera is a GoPro Hero 10 and I also have my old Hero 9 which I use for filming snakes. For regular filming, the DJI cameras are far better than GoPro in my opinion..
Hey mate I’m travelling from SA to Maryborough. Ideally I’d like to chase Redfin but happy to hit carp. Have you got a river system you can recommend ?
Hi mate, to be honest I don't know that area out that side of the state at all. I believe the Wimmera River has redfin and carp in it. I'm not sure exactly where to access it but I think you should cross it somewhere.
Thanks Jeff. I actually have filmed a video similar to this but with the open top lift nets. I think the white crawfish nets might be a bit too light for them though. That would buckle as I was trying to put them in the water.
G'day Robbie, huge fan of your fishing content! I've watched most of your videos and learned a lot from your expertise. I was wondering if you're free on December 1st? I'd love to take you to Gorman Park in Mulwala, just after Yarra Weir. It's a spot I'm familiar with, and I think you'd enjoy it. More than showing you the spots, I'm eager to learn from you and pick up some new tips and techniques. Your knowledge and passion for fishing are inspiring, and I'd be stoked to spend a day with you. Let me know if you're interested and available!!!! Thanks in advance ❤
Hi mate, thank you so much for your very kind words. 🙏 Unfortunately I am very busy at the moment. Between cod opening, and family/personal commitments I just cannot make it sorry. It is a lovely area down there. I don't know it well, but I have fished that area a little bit years ago. Thank you for wanting to fish with me. 🙏
@ absolutely mate two or three inches to the left and it would have been sweet! But it could be worse Robbie, you could be an underwater diver/cameraman and you dive in and a dirty big Noah’s Ark is staring at you! 😳😬

"That minnow was sure in a hurry" LOL. Great session mate, it's always good to find new fishing spots, even if it is just for carp!
Thanks mate. This spot is a ripper, I look forward to getting back there again. PS... I've watched your video on my TV and LOVED it. I will head over and drop a comment shortly when I catch up here. 👍👍
@robbiefishing haha cheers mate
Looks like a galaxia in one frame
I'd say those small fish were some sort of hardyhead. NOT sure of the species but a hardyhead for sure!
'The water's still quite clear, I can see a big carp' - many would say that anywhere there are carp, the water will be muddy. Seems like you just disproved that theory, interesting .... Good to see Doug's Punchmaster in action!
Thanks so much Frank. Doug's floats are so awesome. 👍👍
Incrivel ter peixes tão grandes em um lago pequeno...boas pescarias 👏👏👏
Thank you so much. 🙏

Keep up the awesome work Robbie! Good to seee you out and about! Tight lines brotha! 🤙🎣🤙🎣🤙🎣
Haha thanks so much Toby. It's good to know that I'm not the only clumsy angler. LOL
I hope you have a wonderful weekend buddy. 👍👍
Abb's behind Flab's that's what i always say, Cheers and thank you for all your great vids and advice.
Haha that describes me perfectly. LOL Thank so much mate. 👍👍
Great video Robbie 👍
Keep up the awesome video Robbie
Thanks so much mate. 👍👍
Another awesome learning experience for me. Thanks Robbie.
Thanks so much Bruce. 👍👍
Love the underwater recordings and releases 😊
Keep up the great content Robbie ‘ 👍🍻
awesome video robbie 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks mate. 👍👍
Excellent video it’s amazing what underwater footage reveals
Thanks so much Pete. I find my underwater camera very fascinating.
In my video on Sunday night a platypus comes and forages in front of my camera. That is really cool!
@ wow looking forward to it
love your stuff robbie👍👍
Loving the longer 20 mins videos mate 👍
Thanks so much mate. 👍👍 I too enjoy watching longer videos from other creators. The problem with fishing is that the length of the video is determined by how well the fish are biting. Haha
hi robbie what a full on vid awesome mate
Thanks so much for watching mate. 👍👍
Cool 👍👍👍👍👍
Don’t give up the day job mate 😂😂😂 love the voice 😂😂😂
Hahaha Thanks Catherine. 😂👍
That IS his 'day' job lol!
Cool to see some float-fishing, I've never done any good with them when I've tried them so its nice to see someone else have some success
Thanks mate. Float fishing is so much fun. Haha 😂😂
Murray cod season starts on Sunday day so hyped i get to fish the first open day. hope everything is going good. love your videos there always a good laugh . love the go pro videos and watching the fish swim by.
Thanks so much for your kind words mate. Good luck on cod opening. I'm hoping to get out Sunday arvo but our rivers are crazy high.
We’ll make a waggler fisherman of you yet Robbie, the best thing about a float is when you can’t see it ‘cause its dissapeared ha ha ! ATB Doug
Thanks so much Doug. Haha I agree 100%. It's quite an exciting feeling when you look across the water and your float is completely gone. LOL
The minnows look look like Western Carp Gudgeon (Native species) or a very similar species, I've caught lots in bait traps along the Ovens river.
Great video Robbie, love stuff like this
Thanks so much mate. 👍👍
No point fishing the Ovens at the moment at Eurobin, it is running a spate and dirty to boot, still the sun is shining and watching Robbie catching carp!
Haha thanks for watching mate. Yeah it's the same here. Very high and dirty. The river has risen 2 meters here and is filthy.
If l ever stop watching your videos its because of your singing
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The 'minnows' look like gambusia (mosquito fish) Robbie. They are a live bearing introduced species similar to the aquarium guppy without the colours. In a couple of frames the dark gravid spot is visible in the pregnant females.
I have hundreds of mosquito fish in my 2 dams and I put them to use by catching them and feeding them to my 2 pet Yabbies
Awesome, thanks so much mate. I often catch them in my shrimp nets. I had suspected they may have been Gambusia but wasn't in a position to speculate as I don't know a lot about these small minnows. Thank you. 👍👍
Last comment 😂 thanks again for the laughs after my day I really enjoyed the laughs good night mate
Haha thanks so much for watching Catherine. 👍👍
Mate watching your videos makes me miss Wangaratta it’s so pretty 😍 prettier then here
Thanks Catherine. I was born here and will never leave. I love it here so much.
@ I loved that it was big but still had that country feel about it I miss it so much
Love it Robbie I’ve never seen you use a wagler float I catch so many goldfish using them as well as carp captain frank and Doug got me interested in them and never look back but you hafto get the depth right
Thanks mate. I had never used them either until Captain Frank and Doug sent me a few. Haha they're amazing aren't they. Doug does a fantastic job making them.
@ yea I love waglers I wanna start making them myself
Carpy hole!
great video mate can't wait for cod season ill be at lake Eppalock cod don't really bite at lake Eppalock I've heard tho might try for some redfin put my yabby net in local dam and only got frogs haha
Good luck on opening mate. There are plenty of cod in there, they are only now just starting to take off. 👍👍
G’day Robbie. Luckily you cam back and turned your camera on, lol. This is a totally different area you’re fishing in? Great bit of underwater filming as well mate. Great video, Robbie.
Thanks so much Wayne. Haha I have experienced the disappointment before of not filming. LOL 🤣🤣
Yes, this is the first time that I have fished in this spot.
Underwater vids are great, maybe some food to attract a few fish
Thanks for the great tip mate.
hey Robbie I think your excused from kicking that Carp out of the water, that Dorsal Fin would be a trip to the Hospital for sure and a painful one at that. that Minnow almost looks translucent, that could be a hint to what it is.
Thanks Fred. You're not wrong, that dorsal fin certainly is deadly.
I would like to see you go out one day using one of those old Alvey Bakelite sidecast reels , if you got one.
Just for a bit of nostagia
Thanks Mohammed. I have been thinking about them a lot lately.
I don't actually have any, but I grew up using them.
An Alvey Sidecast with 30lb nylon fishing line was what we used to use for cod.

@@robbiefishing OMG - Well that was the end of using that reel ever again.
I suppose it went to the same rubbish tip with your split cane rods.
@mohammednovalija haha To be honest I am not sure what ever happened to them. I guess they got thrown out as they got replaced. I will have to ask my dad if he still has them in his shed.
@@robbiefishing The good thing is though you still have an original Black Queen - LEGEND Rod and so are You.

See a few are using a pilly fillets as a top bait for the freshwater fins. Then frames blood are good for yabbie bait in a stocking. 😂😂
Awesome, I bet they would be dynamite yabby bait. 👍👍
@robbiefishing works a treat Craig got 256 red claw last haul.
Pretty sure that here in Australia we still call them Billabongs. Lagoon is a sepo term
Everyone here in this area called them lagoons. I guess it varies depending where you are in Australia.
👍
Nice underwater fish release they were supreme I’m thinking of getting a GoPro for filming which one do you think is best
Thanks mate. I use a DJI action 4 for most of my filming. My underwater camera is a GoPro Hero 10 and I also have my old Hero 9 which I use for filming snakes.

@@robbiefishing thanks so much mate you’re a lengend

I believe the Wimmera River has redfin and carp in it. I'm not sure exactly where to access it but I think you should cross it somewhere.
Gambusia is my guess
Thanks mate. That was my guess too.
Hey you! You can't claim that second carp, if you was going to use it for food you would be going hungry
Haha that is true. You are correct. Everything you said is right. ..... But I'm still claiming it. LOL 😂😂😂😆
A new way to kill carp. Sing at them😁
Hahaha that'll certainly work. LOL 😂😂
Carp gudgeon
Thanks mate.
@robbiefishing all good, cheers for the awesome video's
Thanks so much for your kind words mate. 👍👍
You should secure your camera on one of the new yabbie nets and lower it I hope that's not a bad idea
Thanks Jeff. I actually have filmed a video similar to this but with the open top lift nets.
I think the white crawfish nets might be a bit too light for them though. That would buckle as I was trying to put them in the water.

@robbiefishing ❤️.. If you can tell in the video where you going to fish next will be lovely❤️..
Gday Robbie Coustou, I’m sorry mate but I can’t tell you what the Minnows are, but I’ll bet the sticks in front of the camera are from a Gum Tree! 😮
Hahaha thanks Kev. How annoying that my camera landed right in front of the sticks. 🤣🤣
@ absolutely mate two or three inches to the left and it would have been sweet! But it could be worse Robbie, you could be an underwater diver/cameraman and you dive in and a dirty big Noah’s Ark is staring at you! 😳😬
💛...perhaps, if you suspend your camera below a baited float, you can attract more piscatory attention... kinda like chumming...
Thanks Harold, that's a great idea. I may have to explore that a bit further. Thank you. 👍👍
If something is playing with your worms U need to se a doctor 😂😂 cheers from grumpy
Haha thank you so much Grumpy. 🙏🙏 I hope you're having an awesome week. 🙏
Good morning sir where is this location sir
Hi mate, I am in North East Victoria, Australia.
How did you go with the osteopath?
Hi Catherine it went great thank you. I've come a long way in the last few days. 🙏👍
@ I’m so glad to hear it please keep us updated on the progress ☺️ enjoyed the video mate good night 😴
Don't worry this creek is safe. Salty jumps up and grabs a roo. Okay maybe it's not safe.
Hahaha that would certainly make for interesting viewing. LOL 🤣🤣🤣
@@robbiefishing Yes. It very much would make for a heck of a video.
Next time you put the camera in put some dry dog food in the plastic container and see what it attracts.
Thanks mate, great idea..
Hallo sir. Iam in benalla. Where is right location
