I'm surprised Eyecraft didn't bring this up, but at least in Java edition, an arrow's damage output is directly proportional to its velocity. This number isn't capped, meaning that an arrow's damage is only limited by how fast you're able to propel it. People have been able to build machines that propel an arrow so fast using dozens of TNT explosions that it can one-shot the Ender Dragon
The subject of arrow determination wasn't mentioned either. Meaning, what arrow is used if you have different types of arrows in your inventory? In Java, you can use your offhand. Otherwise, it's inventory for Bedrock or when your offhand is not used in Java - hotbar (left to right) and then main inventory (left to right, and top to bottom).
I keep my seven star firework loaded triple shot in a pic frame on the entrance to my village - to greet them raiders (I suggest we refer to it as "the rocket launcher" for short|).
17:47 Important addition: The arrow's speed is increased when you fly with an Elytra and the damage that the arrow makes is increased. Compared to standing still. Flying at very high speed (flying down, not using rockets) you can then one-shot a player with a max enchant power bow. Also: Arrows can be propelled by TNT. You can accelerate them to insane speeds that can one-shot a warden.
I wish fire arrows could start trees on fire and immitted light. Would be great for exploring caves to shoot fire arrows into large cavities to light them up.
Using the arrow through lava trick, you can make a setup that makes a skeleton shoot an arrow through lava and ignite TNT which explodes a large group of creepers, and they all drop music discs

Fun feature(?) about Bedrock arrows and shriekers: If you shoot a shrieker with an arrow it will continue to trigger until the Warden emerges. It will stop until the Warden is outside of the shrieker-Warden range or the arrow is removed or despawns. It's an interesting way to make a remote Warden spawner with a dispenser block.
I'm surprised you didnt mention this, but here is another thing. If you are holding multiple kinds of arrows in your inventory the way the game picks which one you will fire is not random, first it will check if you have an arrow in your second hand, then if you have one in your hotbar and lastly in your inventory going from top to bottom and from left to right.
Is there a way to switch between arrow types without going to inventory screen? Maybe if you hold a bow in your offhand and scroll through hotbar with different arrows?
That is assuming that the bow/archer (the arrow's initial position) is level with the landing point/final position of the arrow (i.e. delta altitude equals zero). But keep in mind that in a practical scenario of an archer firing on a level ground (feet on land and bow held at shoulder height), the arrow initially rests at an elevated point (i.e. from ground to bow/shoulder of the archer). A 45° launch angle/angle of release would only yield the furthest horizontal displacement had the projectile been launched at the same altitude as its landing/final altitude. Thereby, an archer's arrow would not yield the furthest displacement if launched from a bow at 45° angle, due the (aforementioned) bow's elevation from ground. That is why you would see that the perfect angle of release for a shot put is deemed to be closer to 37° (due to the initial elevation of the ball from the ground, as it was held by the thrower). I suspect that (without factoring air resistance) the maximum horizontal displacement of any projectile, at any initial and final altitude, is achieved by whatever angle of release that would result in a 45° landing angle. Although this might very well be proven wrong.
I’d recommend learning how to trade with villagers / setup a village to farm raids (all doors blocked etc) it makes it fairly easy to get a full set of diamond armor and tools. Then you only need to find two diamonds to make an enchanting table.
mending > infinity by miles. dont gotta worry about it breaking and even with infinity, you need a slot for a arrow so might as well carry a full stack. thats all you need for every day stuff. fully enchanted and its all you need for most boss fights as well.
Infinity is better because with it, you need only one slot instead of several stacks of arrows without, and it saves more time and resources on arrows than mending saves on secondary bows to repair it with in an anvil
If you are using tipped arrows, know that long lasting poison does the most extra damage spread out over 11 seconds, but instant damage 2 does almost as much, but instantly, so generally the most powerful tipped arrow is instant damage 2. (I even tested the wither effect tipped arrows on bedrock, they don’t actually do much). Just know that for undead mobs, poison acts as regeneration and instant damage acts as instant health, so if you are fighting the wither use instant health 2 tipped arrows instead. Very few normal undead mobs actually survive a single shot from a maxed out bow even if it used instant damage arrows though, so generally, instant damage 2 arrows are the way to go. I recommend bedrock players use tipped arrows in long term survival worlds because tipped arrows on bedrock are actually incredibly cheap once you have everything set up correctly, and if you do this you should obviously opt for mending on your bow because infinity is useless for tipped arrows. For java players, I don’t think it’s worth it.

If you have any special arrows then you have no reason to use infinity. Also, the piercing enchant on crossbows works like infinity WITH special arrows, in that you can get them back after they go through your target, lol. One stack of instant harming II arrows can last a very long time with a crossbow setup. I found having three cocked and ready to be quick fired is very OP(does 12 hearts damage in harming II effects alone, while ignoring full protection IV armour, in under 2 seconds)! "Instant Harming II Avelyn(triple-shot crossbow from Dark Souls)" is the most powerful pvp weapon setup I have ever seen: it requires 12.5 hearts to survive regardless of your defences(will even get through turtle master potion), but has a long setup time even with the quick-charge III enchantment(three shot need three reloads and you'll want to pick up what went through your opponent, even if mid-combat sometimes).
Bows are not the best ranged damage you can get. Crossbows with Multishot + Fireworks beat regular Bows in every way possible. Better Damage / Only attack that can deal area-damage / The ability to pre-charge them for rapid fire. U can downgrade your world to 1.14 version (or 1.12, I don't remember exactly) and apply mending and infinity on bow, as well as looting 3. Than you upgrade your world (it will be probably corrupted), and enjoy ultrapowered bow. Same with armor
My son wanted to shoot blocks out of the bow like eyecraft did, so if anyone is wondering the command he uses is: /execute @e[type=minecraft:arrow] run setblock ~ ~ ~ minecraft:red_concrete in our case we changed the red_concrete to orch something froglight because it lights up and is easier to see at night. if you set the middle ~ to ~2 you get the benefit of it not obstructing your sight but then you cant shoot arrows directly up because the blocks spawn infront of your arrow.
Infinity is better in early game, but if you have fletcher and something like Unbreaking 3, Power V, Flame bow then i highly suggest using mending in order to save enchantments.
I’ve been using mostly bow for most of my Minecraft career, but I think it’s been years since I’ve crafted arrows. Really I just see infinity as essential and get enough arrows from drops
I got a near perfect bow from sea loot. Flame, unbreaking3, punch2, mending and power4. I even found a skeleton spawner not too far from base for unlimited arrows. What a lucky catch😂
I feel in mending vs infinity its: For a bow with otherwise low quality/no other enchantments Infinity is better as you can create a powerful weapon for fairly cheap when you may not yet have a way to mass acquire arrows. Once you get a decked out bow, Mending is better as you don't ever want it to break and at that stage you should have a method of arrow production such as a skelly farm or villager trading.
I disagree as a maxed bow with unbreaking can last for 500+ shots, and repairing them is dirt cheap. Even when it becomes too expensive, books can be purchased from villagers.
Hey EYE, while most are anxiously awaiting the 1.20 update, the true fans are anxiously awaiting your return to live streaming. Will this happen again?
1:26 can we not referred hearts as "damage". this could lead to some misunderstanding . but basically power V bows deals 15 - 25 damages (7.5-12.5 hearts).
Well infinity is great but you get infinite arrows from skeleton farm so it doesnt make it quite useful since infinity does not affect the special arrows. Thats a shame, sticking with mending is better for most situations Also you didn't mention that in minecraft arrows damage is affected by its speed so shooting an arrow while gliding which increases its speed also increases its damage.
Firing an arrow when flying increases the dmg the arrow does proportionally to the added velocity. Also works this way with arrows launched very fast using TNT
When I’m mining and come into contact with mobs I more often than not bring out my maxed out bow over my sword. With the knock back it’s just too good, even in close quarters.
Yo,I have a question for you minecraft pros. I found bunch of gold tools with some good enchantments and I'm wondering what should I do with them, some have silk touch, some fortune and mending and I would like to know what should I do with them since durability is so low, should I merge same items together or what? How can I get the most out of them? Oh,and yea I got some golden arrows from pig people, what's the deal with them?
If you have a gold tool with Fortune it can be great to harvest crops ( like carrots or potatoes) because it takes no durability to break them. If it has Mending and Silk touch I guess it could be used situationally if you really need to ST something (like maybe ice or turtle eggs...) Other than that they are mostly useless. Their durability cap is so low that even if you can repair w/ mending or anvil you still can't use them long. Disenchant and smelt for a nugget I guess) As for spectral arrows basically what Eyecraft said--if you want to see a mob through walls like the underground Wither fight or Shulkers. Or if you're killing animals in a pen you can see which ones you've hit if they run away (Although Looting + Sharpness would be far better.) I hope this helps.
For the infinity and mending part you can just use unbreaking 3 ➕ infinity bow So it will not break soon and if it is going to break you can just repair that bow using a regular bow using a anvil and you can also keep a spare bow which has mending
the problem is that as you keep repairing your bow the cost goes up. imo finding a skeleton spawner to farm arrows for your mending bow is the best alternative
@@leafygreen8524 crafting a whole new bow is not very hard at all as all the enchantments are pretty accessible, especially with villagers and skeleton spawners. Not having to worry about being stuck with no arrows in a dangerous situation makes this a worthy sacrifice imo

Theres one version of minecraft where you were able to put mending and infinity together. However, this was removed/patched the minecraft version right after. Making these type of bows very rare, and even collectible items on pvp servers
I have a couple on a multiplayer server I play on sometimes. Since they're irreplaceable, I keep them in my ender chest and only pull them out when I need to kill a bunch of livestock.
That's not true, mending was added many version before it became exclusive with infinity. That means it was possible to have both enchantment on the same how in 1.9 1.9.1 1.9.2 1.10 1.10.1 1.11 In total , 3 different updates and 6 different patches
@@YounesLayachi ah thank you for correcting me, i looked it up and your right. However, still pretty cool if you still got one of those laying around. I once sold one of those on a prison server for over a million coins. Wich was an absurd amount of money there
Oh damn, if tipped arrows don't work on an infinity bow then it's definitely better to get mending. I though the debate was for infinite tipped arrows or a bow that never breaks. Which if that was the case I'd say infinite was better, but if they only work with regular arrows then mending is far better.
Infinity is better as it saves arrows. As mending needs xp u can combine bows in anvil to restore health of infinity bow. And a bow is a lot cheaper than stacks of arrows.
In bedrock, you can hit yourself with enchanted arrows, and they don't get used up. I keep sone night vision, speed, amd ibstant health arrows on me for free infinite buffs.
Arrows shot from a bow with infinity can not be picked up. 3:50 ... you just picked up an arrow. You can actually pick up arrows of infinity. I've literally built a few sets of em from arrows stuck on blocks.
I don’t see how anybody can think infinity isn’t better than mending. for one who carries around stacks of arrows that can be used for other items and by the time you get a maxed out bow, you’d likely have unbreaking on it already so you would not need to repair often
This is the RUclipsr that doesn’t know how to use the term “OP” properly in 2023. Dude said “being able to write on both sides of signs is an op addition to the game” I don’t think he knows what OP means.
Hey eyecraft mc can you make a tutorial to find an enchanted golden Apple I am finding for that for about days so it will be helpful for me and good video 👍👍
It isn't really a question. Mending is the better one. By the time you are fully enchanting your gear you already have a skelly farm. You are not waisting the potential of your bow with any better arrows nor inventory space, as the single arrow takes up the whole slot. Only advantage the infinity has, when you don't engage a ranged combat with another players but it's them and they miss, then you can save a slot in your inventory

U can downgrade your world to 1.14 version (or 1.12, I don't remember exactly) and apply mending and infinity on bow, as well as looting 3. Than you upgrade your world (it will be probably corrupted), and enjoy ultrapowered bow. Same with armor
Your channel is so underrated! You are amazing youtuber!😅
My son wanted to shoot blocks out of the bow like eyecraft did, so if anyone is wondering the command he uses is:
/execute @e[type=minecraft:arrow] run setblock ~ ~ ~ minecraft:red_concrete
in our case we changed the red_concrete to orch something froglight because it lights up and is easier to see at night.
if you set the middle ~ to ~2 you get the benefit of it not obstructing your sight but then you cant shoot arrows directly up because the blocks spawn infront of your arrow.
Infinity is better in early game, but if you have fletcher and something like Unbreaking 3, Power V, Flame bow then i highly suggest using mending in order to save enchantments.
Love your videos!
I’ve been using mostly bow for most of my Minecraft career, but I think it’s been years since I’ve crafted arrows. Really I just see infinity as essential and get enough arrows from drops
this is another great video!! i just wish you also visually demonstrated the bedrock tipped arrows instead of just describing it :0
I got a near perfect bow from sea loot. Flame, unbreaking3, punch2, mending and power4. I even found a skeleton spawner not too far from base for unlimited arrows. What a lucky catch😂
I feel in mending vs infinity its:
For a bow with otherwise low quality/no other enchantments Infinity is better as you can create a powerful weapon for fairly cheap when you may not yet have a way to mass acquire arrows.
Once you get a decked out bow, Mending is better as you don't ever want it to break and at that stage you should have a method of arrow production such as a skelly farm or villager trading.
I disagree as a maxed bow with unbreaking can last for 500+ shots, and repairing them is dirt cheap. Even when it becomes too expensive, books can be purchased from villagers.
actually, there is another item with mutually exclusive enchants, the boots, you can either put depth strider or frost walker on them
Think he meant for mending
@@captainnebby5096 that would make sense then, didn’t notice that
I took a break for a year from mimecraft until about a month ago. your videos are amazing. wish i could have seen these back then.
Hey EYE, while most are anxiously awaiting the 1.20 update, the true fans are anxiously awaiting your return to live streaming. Will this happen again?
Agreed, it's been a long time
Cross bow rockets with multi shot are pretty good and I like much more for just area denial
Thats a shame, sticking with mending is better for most situations
Also you didn't mention that in minecraft arrows damage is affected by its speed so shooting an arrow while gliding which increases its speed also increases its damage.
Firing an arrow when flying increases the dmg the arrow does proportionally to the added velocity. Also works this way with arrows launched very fast using TNT
2:50 if you have easy access to more arrows then you will ever need like a skeleton farm, mending
When I’m mining and come into contact with mobs I more often than not bring out my maxed out bow over my sword. With the knock back it’s just too good, even in close quarters.
Javent played mc in years but love these vids 😊
How I see it, if you’re going to carry an arrow for infinity then you might as well carry a stack and go for the mending.
tipped arrows are basically Hawkeye's trick arrows
You can also build and xp fish farm and get over powered rods and bows out of there.
I like that way, you don’t have access to it early game anyway.
5:50 "and the reason for this strange motion....." yeah very strange, i wonder where did they got the idea to make it like that from
Yeah, you can tell this video was written either for kids, or the unfathomably stupid. I can't imagine feeling to need to explain how gravity of all things works.
Learning math: 🤚😒
Learning how to shoot arrows in minecraft using math: 👈😏
So Poison and Flame stack.... right
Theres one version of minecraft where you were able to put mending and infinity together.
That means it was possible to have both enchantment on the same how in
1.9
1.9.1
1.9.2
1.10
1.10.1
1.11
In total , 3 different updates and 6 different patches
@@YounesLayachi ah thank you for correcting me, i looked it up and your right. However, still pretty cool if you still got one of those laying around. I once sold one of those on a prison server for over a million coins. Wich was an absurd amount of money there
Eye craft. If you have tipped arrows, do you consume them still even if you have infinity ?
Protip: If you wanna be a master of aiming and never miss while using a bow in Minecraft then just play a lot of Angry Birds
Arrows shot from a bow with infinity can not be picked up.
3:50
... you just picked up an arrow.
You can actually pick up arrows of infinity. I've literally built a few sets of em from arrows stuck on blocks.
When cave exploring the bow is my primary weapon , just stand back and clear the room .
I Think Infinity Is Better Than Mending Because We Can Repair Bow With The Help Of Anvil
I don’t see how anybody can think infinity isn’t better than mending. for one who carries around stacks of arrows that can be used for other items and by the time you get a maxed out bow, you’d likely have unbreaking on it already so you would not need to repair often
I come from Bedrock edition, and i want to mention this
Tipped arrows will be affected by "infinity" if you hold it in your off-hand
Bows are so cheap to make. I think infinity is better. If you have all five enchantments on it, it makes sense to repair the durability regularly.
Thanks for another interesting minecraft class sir!
Can you believe eyecraft, I have 8 enchantments on my sword and 4 on bow!
Edit: I recently made it netherite!
Op bow : i fear no mob
*enderman apear
Op bow : but that one mob scared me
This is the RUclipsr that doesn’t know how to use the term “OP” properly in 2023. Dude said “being able to write on both sides of signs is an op addition to the game” I don’t think he knows what OP means.
Yeah, he just uses "OP" to bait views. Lots of low quality channels do shit like that.
Hey eyecraft mc can you make a tutorial to find an enchanted golden Apple I am finding for that for about days so it will be helpful for me and good video 👍👍
Generally you'd rather have the mending on the bow cause if you want an unlimited long range weapon, you already have the trident with the mending
i pefer to use mending enchant on it
its pretty ez to get arrows unlike repairing it XD good luck on that one haha
Could You plecase make a Guise on tipped arrows?
You can also put quick charge on bows however I don't think that you actually draw them faster
I would've never thought that I'm gonna use math in Minecraft like that
Do a video on how to make and use trip wires, preasure plates, and buttons in minecraft 1.19.
You know i find it lacking that we get to wield fire enchanted weapons, along with potion tipped arrows, but we dont have a freeze enchant...
It isn't really a question. Mending is the better one. By the time you are fully enchanting your gear you already have a skelly farm. You are not waisting the potential of your bow with any better arrows nor inventory space, as the single arrow takes up the whole slot. Only advantage the infinity has, when you don't engage a ranged combat with another players but it's them and they miss, then you can save a slot in your inventory
i was walking across a bridge over the void in the end and there was an enderman on the bridge so i shot at his body to force him to teleport, but the arrow bounced off him and he aggro'd and hit me off the bridge into the void and i lost all my stuff :
even when we have the cauldron metod
we still don't t use tipped arrows at cuz they are useless cuz potions are useless most of them and arrows are even more
I got most of the bow enchantments from fishing although a bit time consuming.
The fact he explained gravity was saying a whole lot of nothing
So we gonna go over how he fell into the water and continued like nothing happened?
wait arent silk touch and fortune mutually exclusive??
or is it just a good practice to not use them together, but they could be combined!
I need a friend to play video games with, I'm struggling with making friends, I just need someone to have a laugh with
Everything is OP as long as you know how to use it
You can use a none enchanted bow with your bow in an anvil to replenish its health so the infinity is bettee
