These are great bikes for ripping around the city and country roads and reliable. You get bigger brake rotors on the DRZ400sm vs the dual sport DRZ400s model. In 2008-2009 Kawasaki made a KLX250SF supermoto that performed well, but not with the power of the Suzuki here. Kawi has a 300 supermoto now, but not the power of this beast you are showing here. I believe they are skinning you on the price of the 400sm here, as it has been out for ages & I am sure they recovered their tooling costs years ago. Lots of fun. Thanks for the video.
@@dubatransport4545 The best thing to do, instead of relying on me in the comments section, for something like this, I would check with the dealer. Email them a picture even, and they'd be able to be sure that you get all the parts that are associated with the problem.

I’m thinking about buying one of these. Either the DR or an XR, but I’m leaning towards this DR. Fuel injection would be nice. The all black version is gorgeous.
These are nearly perfect urban bikes for places where the roads aren't the best. Sure an enduro will handle road surface irregularities but if you know you won't be going off road, supermotos can be the better choice. I love that feeling when I juice the throttle a bit and aim for a heave in the road. I also love when I approach a turning lane a bit faster and accelerate during the exit. I can have lots of fun without breaking speed limits. I bought my first bike in 1976 and I owned a GSXR 750 through the Nineties so I've had a bunch of different types of bikes through the years and I have to say that the supermoto is my favorite style of machine.
I own this exact bike.... i like it for cruising in town.... sold all my 1000cc bikes... just gonna get in trouble with those.... Drz is mellow and nimble.... i ride mine to work....
I just bought this one less then a week ago love it more than my previous motorcycle 2009 CBR600RR.. this is much, comfortable, and turns heads not by males but by females
I'm positive that there are, but I wouldn't know off hand which brands to look for. A good dealer would be able to help you out with that kind of thing.
I heavily considered getting a drz 400sm before I ended up getting my '24 klx 300sm. I realize that mine will never be as powerful, but it looks way better/more modern and also I already have a 1000 in the garage, so I didn't care to lose some displacement. I'm loving being back in the supermoto game!
I have a sport bike (1 of many) I also have this bike. I barely ride my 2018 R1 anymore. Both are super fun but this one makes way more sense for the type of riding I do. I love doing hooligan stuff like riding down stairs or going off road to pass busy traffic jams
It's ok for rural roads and cities . But not highway .and it's super uncomfortable for any longer rides . The seat has no cushion .and your but will be numb after about half hour . . I traded mine in after having it 2 summers
Yeah, that's true. This bike can go highway speeds, but if that's a big part of your daily routine, this bike isn't for you. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Don't worry about EFI, these bikes run faultlessly with a carb. I've had all sorts of bikes, EFI, traction control etc, these little bikes are a lot of fun.
@@CRFLAus I owned a DRZ 400 SM. Great bike. NO complaints but I know what I am talking about and why I make the choices I do. I only comment on these videos to help PLO 's algorithms.
I film in Canada where some EU laws don't exist. That's why they get away without having ABS on this bike. Competitors to this have switchable ABS to get around the legislation, but still deliver the tire sliding fun that supermoto riders want. I disagree about the single disc not being enough on this bike though, these are very light bikes and you can tell that the brakes are plenty powerful enough when you watch a skilled rider take a bike like this and use it in a way that it's made to perform. Keep in mind there are 600 lb cruisers with single disc front brakes. These bikes will out-brake a lot of bigger bikes.
@@PeterLoweOnei test rode a 300sm and I felt like THAT bike was tall. I ride an old Honda cafe racer build so I know mine s little low than most motorcycles but I'm turned off by the super tall height.

These are insanely overpriced. You're not getting one of these brand new out the door under 8k and for an over 20 year old, carburated design, that is insane.
I can't say that I disagree, but it's not like any of the competitors have succeeded in this space in the same way Suzuki has. Also, MSRP is 9 thousand, so it's a bit under 10, but yeah, I think everything should be fuel injected by now, but maybe the tweak ability of this bike is part of the appeal and a carb will allow for a bit more tweaking? I don't have a great answer for you.

Still carburetted. For quick trips im in favour of the KLX230SM
That’s fair, but this bike and that bike are in different classes, in my opinion.
Why does this cost 8k?
Because someone is willing to pay that price, crazy how the Market works.
Almost all motorbikes are overpriced these days.
