When Trump had the picture book that kept his attention and it shows that the only thing that would keep his attention is if someone were to sing his praises for the entire time he would be in court. Then he would stay awake to hear that. Since he knows that is not gonna happen. That his crimes have come home to roost then he gets bored and dozes off.
Brian, instead of saying "the" Trump trial it could be "this" Trump trial, because we all hope this is not the last.

During my only jury service long ago, the defense attorney made a statement that resonated: The truth is insistent, consistent, and resistant.
Aside from his criminal activity, is this the type of person qualified for president, he has to be told to behave and not throw a tantrum?
Certainly not qualified to deal with world leaders or even day to day presidential duties.
Basing on Trump, there's no bar lower than he has been granted by the media and magats.

We had a meltdown-immune, bomb-useless civilian reactor design that was designed to consume uranium 238, the longest lived part of "nuclear waste" which is really wasted fuel. It generated plutonium and consumed it, producing the usual remarkable short-lived fission products.
It was deliberately tested for meltdown, three weeks before Chernobyl, and proved its immunity in five minutes, in 1986.
Clinton cancelled it in 1994. We could be replacing all fossil fueled electricity by now, with reactors consuming "nuclear waste". That's why we shouldn't be burying the stuff under a mountain.
I think that sitting in a courtroom for weeks, listening to all the evidence, and more importantly watching the defendant fall asleep might dissuade even his biggest supporter. No way an innocent person falls asleep in their own trial, not even for a second!

No one would fall asleep repeatedly while in court for a felony regardless how old. I’m convinced he’s taking medication to sedate himself for the trial because he just can’t handle having to be there.

A combination of the two. Coming off speed gives you anxiety, anxiolytics make you drowsy.
Sedation sounds quite likely, because it would be hard for him to contain his agitation and behave with the decorum required for a criminal (as opposed to civil) hearing. He can't just march out with half his entourage, to bleat to the Press, leaving his lawyers holding the fort, for this one.
Some people react to personally distressing situations by becoming drowsy. It’s a mental self-defense mechanism, so they don’t have to watch the train wreck of themselves. Might be true here.
Could also be the choice to leave his coke at home, instead of being jacked in court, and could even be sedatives to prevent outbursts. But none of those three possibilities looks very good for this criminal idiot.

True. And he has never had to sit without talking for so many hours while someone else (Judge Merchan) is in charge. With his trial in Judge Engoron’s court he could come and go whenever he pleased and he sometimes stomped out. He can’t do that in a criminal trial.
So with this trial he isn’t doing the loud “whispering” to his attorney thing that he did a lot in Judge Engoron’s court. I think his rage will be even bigger after he sits through the hearing Tuesday morning on his alleged violations of the gag order.
He’s going to have to get some medication from a doctor to get through the coming 4-6 weeks of this trial. I guess if he decides he cannot endure it he will let his attorneys negotiate a plea bargain.

Apparently it's commonplace for people to fall asleep in long stuffy Court hearings. Just, generally not the defendant!
I think the judge may be letting him sleep, the same way that you let a toddler nap, just for the peace and quiet.

Well yeah. A criminal defendant can be brought in chained to a wheelchair, sedated, and wearing a muzzle so long as they're physically in the courtroom. Unless he's snoring or otherwise disrupting things he's good. The sedated thing might be an exaggeration. It's likely so that they can't later claim they were prevented from participating which would violate some right or another.
I have served as a juror and believe it even in a very interesting case, it's boring as hell, especially if the case drags for ever!

If convicted his secret service detail need canceled because the prisons are completely capable of keeping him safe while in custody and be treated like any other citizen no special treatment regardless of one's status
I think if he goes to prison the Secret Service will hand him over to the federal marshal system. Federal prisons are part of that system. Since he's being tried in a state court, if found guilty, he would go to a state prison and the state would be his caretakers.

I'd like to know why finding someone guilty or innocent requires a unanimous vote yet, when the SCOTUS decides for critical laws that affect millions upon millions of Americans, it just requires a simple majority. It sucks having such a flawed system.

The problem is that most official positions in congress and the house are folks we elected to be our voice. The president with the power inherited as the elected president is suppose to appoint folks according to our voice. They have forgotten they’re our voice and not just given power to push their own agendas.
SCOTUS is not a jury. They are not finders of fact; they are interpreters of the law.

The next one is for conspiring to create fake electoral ballots and to use a crowd to pressure congress into throwing out the votes of the American people.
