Yung tito ko isa sa mga kasamang gumawa sa dike jan nung 2014. Mga kasama nya nakakakuha ng mga sinaunang mga metal na kopa o baso then tito ko naman nakakuha ng coin nung panahon pa ng kastila. Nalimutan ko details na nasa coin pero natatandaan ko yung year nya mga 1800 nakalagay sa coin yung pangalan nung reyna ng Espanya.
Yung mga nagko comment na wala raw kwenta yung mga nakukuha jan. Nagkakamali po kayo. Sa totoo lang karugtong po ng ilog na yan yung ilog ng Lumban kung saan nakuha yung makasaysayang Lumban, Laguna Copper plate na nagbigay ng napakahalagang linaw sa kasaysayan ng kaharian ng Tondo at ng buong Pilipinas. May nakita ako sa you tube na mahal ang price ng US coins kung sinaunang panahon pa. Talagang may kwenta ang lahat nanakuha na mga sinaunang pera ,coins or gold.

All historical treasures mga yan. They all worth a fortune. Maski yang cruz at American coins. Sa aming bayan maraming antique na mga Plato, baso, vase. Iba ngkabasag basag na. Accidentally nahukay lng yong iba sa likuran ng mga bahay nila.
Very informative documentary. It’s a shame that we don’t have a museum where these historical objects can be kept and shown to the public. It’s a part of our history that needs to be known by everyone now and for the future. In other countries these are prized and preserved, kept in museums where everyone can see and learn our past history.

It is an interesting story. As a Cebuano and a student of history I find it interesting to see this story. I have personally seen remnants of our past particularly broken potteries and ceramic shards which I have found on the seaside of North Cebu. My grandparents even told me that in the 70's people dug on the seashore and found ceramics with gold artefacts. It was written by Pigafetta's chronicles that the early Cebuanos traded with nugget like gold as currency and weights. It only proved the sophistication of our ancestors. People must read our history. Books the likes of "The History of The Bisayan People" by Francisco Alcina at the 17th century would tell the wonderful story of our people. I hope we would learn simple lessons from our history.

I'm from Cebu too Sir and yes, when it comes to history, Cebu has also a lot to offer - from pre-colonial era down to second world war. I think yung sinasabi mong mga artifacts na nahukay sa seashore ay sa San Remigio. I've watched a documentary na ang title ay "Kabilin" and it really freaks me out dahil hindi lang mga artifacts ang nahukay kundi pati na rin mga buto ng ninuno natin. History never fails to amaze me and it's nice to know someone like you Sir na pinapahalagahan ang kasaysayan natin. Sana lang ay mas mapalawak at bigyang importansiya ang pag-aaral sa history hindi lang sa Cebu kundi sa buong Pilipinas na rin.

Most of or part of our history is yet to be discovered underneath the coastal areas of the Visayas region. Thanks to Dr. Bersales for his archaeological finds together with his team and with the partnership of the Philippine Museum in San Remigio and Boljoon. May we as a people move forward to the future and at the same effort to remember our ancestor's rich historical past.🇵🇭❤️

Pagsanjan is a wealthy lovely place with lovely people,I remember when I first arrived to that place was full of beauty's which give you the life of joyful,however the last time I went was I felt sad no one tourist on the river which is not normally see,how ever the river still remain awesome hoping it will grow again tourism will do again.

Nakakamiss ang pagpasyal namin dyan nuong mga nabubuhay pa ang mga matatanda.. di ko talaga makalimutan nung last na bakasyon namin dyan ,naligaw kami dahil ginagawa ang bridge, Kaya ang ending sa Cavinti kami dumaan ...
Now and then, Mr. Howie is still my favorite when it comes to documentaries... I remember way back in high school, I always stayed up late just to watch i witness. This story that you featured is just one of the amazing stories you have told and I am looking forward for more.

Thats why sobrang love ko ang subject ng sibika at kultura, history, aralin panlipunan..gising na gising ako pag yun na ang subject. Kya kht nsa 30s n ako now i am still watching documentaries especially mga entries ng I WITNESS..
I remember our lectures on Philippine history, my professor said Cities in the Philippines sprung were river flows because rivers are the oldest forms of highway as transportation no wonder why these gems are being found here maybe at some time they accidentally drop the piloncitos.
Uhhh yeah. Almost every major cities in the world sprung up near rivers or other bodies of water. It's the most logical place to setup civilization so it's normal.
Just finished watching Moana. I can relate from this story. Our ancestors were great Sailors. ⛵ Rivers and oceans were there homes. I used to dream of a house made of boats/balangay. It was taught to us since kindergarten.

I always enjoyed ang mga documentaries ni Howie Severino, Sandra Aguinaldo and even Kara David. It's like opening a mysterious world of the past ng Pinas in which I never had the chance to know or learned about it when we used to live in Manila...but then again that was 45 yrs. ago, I was not interested in it until now.
