HURRAH!! I am a very happy model builder today! Been waiting for a 48th scale new tool Lysander for a long time. Very glad that Airfix, the premier kitmaker of the UK, is the producer of this kit. Definitely will be purchasing a copy. Be seeing you
I was hoping for a 1/48 Jaguar - but im surprised at how much I suddenly want a 1/48 lysander. I will definitely put in an order. And who knows - maybe mystic mug will give as a prediction for a 1/48 jaguar for 2025?
Proper crew figures!! An excellent precedent set there .As I build inflight models, it normally bogs my builds down several weeks having to scratch build proper figures.
The Lysander looks great, but would like to see an SOE version that flew agents out especially Gibraltar Farm RAF Tempsford, I always visit the Barn when I'm around that area.
Nice to see a new tool from Airfix...not one I'm particularly interested in,but should prove popular 😁 I'd like a Junglie but find the £60 price tag a bit much for my budget.. hopefully I can snag one cheaper 😉
As mentioned last night, cant please everybody all the time, the Lysander probably wont the most popular kit, I'm sure Airfix will ok with it a load different marking variants. Have a great Telford Gary, I will get one year.
The Lysander is a good choice - very distinctive and well-known, wore a number of colour schemes in British service and had reasonable export success as well as being built and operated in Canada.
I love this! It’s the first time a Lysander kit in this scale is available with posable slats and flaps. Having the wheel spats removable is also very well welcome. I’ll definitely buy at least one.
The Lysander looks great and I'm sure there will be SOE variants in the future.I do like the new schemes for the Sea King too.I have the Dora Wings 1/72 Lysander so it would be nice to have the 1/48 one too.
I have the Lysander 1/48th Eduard version with photo etch in the attic....will have t compare them! nice to see extended flaps and two crew.....nice touch
Morning Gary, hope you're well. What a pleasant surprise! 😊 A new Lysander in 48 scale! Very happy! And another release of the Seaking. Brilliant stuff! I hope this release from Airfix is received a little more favourably than the recent negative chat that has been doing the rounds! Hopefully you will find out more later when you see Dale? Please send him my regards (obviously he doesn't know me! 😂) and thank him (and the rest of the team) for their hard work and to say I love what they are doing, and am already looking forward to seeing next years releases! Enjoy Telford Gary, take care and see you later! 👍👊
Very interesting chat with Dale, who wishes he could do his own video about the business. From what he's telling me Airfix is in a very good place. Can't speak for the whole of Hornby Hobbies of course.
@@garys_stuffthat's good then. 👍 I'm sure it's very frustrating for him, as he can't say too much, yet people complain so readily. You can't please everybody. Enjoy the weekend Gary and take care. 👍👊
Personally, I’d be tempted IF I have the time. A surprise sure but it’s not too bad. A friend has questioned the longevity of the popularity. Well, it’s WW2 so has a wider appeal than say the Gannet. Plenty of diorama opportunities. Have Airfix dropped the ball? I don’t think so but…… A Jaguar or Tornado with their modern tooling will have got them a quick return and long term buyers too. At least they’ve listened and included figures (although some folk are already criticising them), so that’s a bonus. Airfix will do ok from this one 😊 Just my own opinion of course! I wonder what January will bring. Happy modelling folks, Ian
Weird, at the beginning of the week I bought 3 Matchbox kits (Hawker Hunter, SB2 Helldiver and the Walrus). I wanted to buy the Lysander from Matchbox and thought it was weird that Airfix the Walrus in 1/48 and not a Lysander. And look, now it comes out in 1/48. I used to have the old Revell Lysander and wanted to buy a new Lysander. So it won't be a Matchbox 1/72 or 1/32, but an Airfix 1/48.
Saw the Airfix reveal vid at 1000..... I wasn't blown away. But to be fair i had my fingers crossed for the TSR2.... need to manage my own disappointment.... Sea King looks good
Oh no! I’ve still got the old Gavia 1/48 Lysander in the loft(and a ton of Eduard photo-etch to add to it!) But that fabulous box artwork has already sold this one to me. The SeaKing is nice but I still haven’t built the one I bought last year.
Plenty of people have been asking ICM for a 1/48 Lysander, and this is only the second release of the 1/48 Sea King in a version loads of people wanted when the first was released, if the comments on my channel were anything to go by. But I still think they have missed a trick by not having a new tool Halifax...
If their recent Anson and Sea King are anything to go by, this Lysander will be very nice indeed. Let's hope the QC will be, well,....kept in control with no short shots, etc. Having said that, I still think the Gavia/Eduard boxings are more than enough for now and that Airfix could have chosen something with a little more 'Wow Factor'. Just mo.
I have the eduard kit, be interesting to compare. It's one of those aircraft that you like, but don't understand why. Will get the soe variant if it comes out..
The Lysander looks stunning 🤩👍🙏🏴🇬🇧
The Lysander is unexpected, very welcome and pre-ordered! Good to see some useable crew figures, nice one Airfix

I look forward to seeing the results matey
Ooooh That Lizzie looks good. Not bothered about the chopper.
These are two kits I was hoping for! Well done Airfix!
LYSANDER!!!! yes!!!! Thank you Airfix

Love them both and really good to see a lysander , cheers Gary . Regards Gav.

Look out for the second release of it in a couple of years time!
The Lizzie looks a beaut; look forward to S.O.E version which will have to have spy with briefcase getting set to climb the boarding ladder😉
Crew figures on the Lysander!

That sea king looks great, and the Olive Drab Falklands, Gulf War and UN schemes all look cool

Nice kits ... not a Whirlybird fan but still it looks nice .. might do the Lysander as built a 1/72 one back a few decades ago ...
Nice Lizzie !!!

Should be a decent pair of kits Gary! I'll make a point of looking out for them

Holy hell Airfix teams are getting better than any other model company’s the 1/48 Lysander looks perfect 👍🏻
What can I say?.......AIRFIX TAKE MY MONEY!!😂
Airfix listening to what the people want at last!
Yet another WW2 subject, but the Sea King looks good with the new schemes. As i flew in one back then in 91, i might go for this one.
Personally, I’d be tempted IF I have the time.

I'll be waiting for a Mk.III SCW Lysander release with the ladder. Two decent subjects - but still no Jaguar!

They will not be doing a TSR2 in a new tool AFAIK, and I'm not sure they have the moulds for the original to do as a Vintage Classic...
The swines! 😂

I am so pleased at the Lysander it's ridiculous.
What a joke....i dont know anyone who was asking for this and yet ANOTHER sea king

@@Damien-q8t And you know absolutely everyone do you? you speak for yourself.
@@Damien-q8t what would you like to have seen?
@@mylesfinn66 Probably another F*ng Spitfire.
Ordered lysander cause my grandad flew them in ww2
