Actually, there isn't too much that we can do for the first win, because of the olympics all music shows are been cancelled this week. I think The Show is the only one that's gonna be aired on the 10th, but I'm not really sure. If that's true, all we have to do is stream as much as we can in genie and bugs to give deukae digital points so we can win against a lot of boygroups!

They are all being 'replaced' by marionette doppelgangers, and Jiu is the puppet master of them. BEcause of her obsessive like/love for them. Gahyeon realizes this, and tries to get away, but in the end she is recaptured and converted as well. Thus we see Jiu's evil smirk at the end.

Actually watching it over and over again as well, I am beginning to believe that Jiu, even though the puppet master, is also a doppelganger. The 'real' Jiu is trapped in the mirrored hallway, is why she is scared in one of the scenes.
Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that. The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your expression is blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
The great thing about DC is that the producers seem to have the creative freedom to try new things, being experimental and have fun with the songs they produce (they clearly trust the girls to sell any songs, so should they). That's the first thing I have in mind when I listen to some of their song: Damn, Leez and Ollounder seemed to have so much fun producing this one. DC has a sound, but they are constantly trying out new things and evolving, that what makes them so good. BEcause have some cute part, some parts that are more playful, some parts are creepy, it's a never ending journey.

Not gonna lie, one of my favorite parts of every Dreamcatcher comeback is trying to figure out which part of their MV is going to make you guys lose your shit the hardest. This time was pretty easy, since Gahyeon is hell-bent on killing us all right now with that hair and the whole yandere doll vibe. I really can't deal with her.
After much thought and watching the music video dozens of times, these are my theories and ideas for what I suspect is the story with this comeback: Jiu runs a carnival and circus resort hotel. She is a mystical puppeteer and controls a group of five dolls to do her bidding around the resort. My guess is that she is after Gahyeon who is still human and not a doll yet. Then at the end, Jiu captures her and makes her a doll like the others. It's important to note that Gahyeon is very front and center in this video and the main character of the story, followed by Jiu. Gahyeon is also the only one to really make distinct facial expression changes, perhaps signifying her awareness to the audience or representing that she's the only one still human amongst the dolls. It has been said that the theme and story is heavily inspired by Jordan Peele's "Us" so perhaps the theme of doppelgangers has something to do with it too. I have actually seen the film "Us" and I can see many references to it in the video, even in the choreography. I think the scene where Handong is standing alone with a pink skirt and literally sees her own feet being pulled away under a curtain could be representative of her being replaced by a doll or doppelganger and that's who is really standing there and not the real Handong. If you pay attention, you'll see that the girls at the beginning of the video all have different outfits than those at the end of the video. This could imply that they have been replaced by their doppelgangers or vice versa. It's hard to say which version of the girls are the real ones versus their doppelgangers, though it's quite often showcased how there are two of each of them in multiple scenes.
Jiu also has a large hourglass that she flips at the start of the song. At the end of the song, the hourglass sand stops and so do the dolls. She gives us a smirk, and then we hear a laugh. I think that's how she controls them. When it's flipped and the sand is moving, the dolls can be active. Power over time and the ability to puppet people seems to be Jiu's powers or capabilities to some degree or she has relics that help her, like the hourglass. It's possible that Jiu needs to capture humans and then do something to make them into dolls - like feeding them a cursed apple? - or she creates dolls that she can control in their likeness by killing their normal form and then putting their soul into the doll, thus making a fake version or doppelganger of them that she can use for her bidding. So Jiu lures in unsuspecting guests to her carnival and circus resort hotel and then snatches them away for herself. One of the final scenes where Gahyeon is on the throne and Jiu caresses her face is important. Gahyeon's line during this moment is "Because I love you". As she says that line, her facial expression changes from happy to more trance-like, which indicates that she may have fallen under Jiu's power and has become her doll. There's a double-meaning here too because of Gahyeon's line. She loves Jiu, but that love may be forced or coerced by Jiu herself because of her power to turn people into dolls and have them do her bidding. Gahyeon has no choice but to love Jiu because Jiu is forcing her to do so as her new doll that has been added to the collection. This all ties back into the song's theme of having a very obsessive and dangerous love for someone else to the point of stalking and controlling them. What's even more interesting is that love, by definition, must be freely given. You cannot force love otherwise it's not love at all. Thus, Jiu seems to be seeking for love, but can't find it, so she becomes evil and obsessive over creating a fake collection of friends that will always "love" her. I also recently came to the understanding that "Special Albums", at least, in Dreamcatcher's case, are one-offs and stand-alone stories that are not connected to another nor will they be continued. So, think of this like their song "Deja Vu", which only had one video and a concise story all within the video itself and not continued or expanded upon in any other videos or songs. It's a shame if that is truly the case with this song and video, since this concept and theme are so strong and incredibly interesting. Either way, Dreamcatcher killed it. Also, the capital "BE" in "BEcause" supposedly represents a Chinese character that sounds like "bei' which means "sadness" or "negative love". Lastly, I was on Dreamcatcher's reddit page earlier and as of today, "BEcause" is the fastest viewed Dreamcatcher comeback in history, surpassing over 9 million views in a record 1 day, 9 hours, and 55 minutes. That beats out even "Odd Eye" and "Boca", which both took a bit over three days each to reach 9 million views. We stan queens! They need to get their first win! Let's go InSomnias!

OH MY GOD YES YES YES! I clicked so fast when I saw the notification they all did such a Phenomenal Job like always this whole Music Video was just Amazing! I feel like ive concocted a story for this mv, so, as i see it; -Jiu is the ring leader, she bring in the guests into the hotel and signs them in as shes the receptionist -Handong, Yoohyeon and Gahyeon are the newly arrived guests (also originally thought Yoohyeon worked for the hotel but its possible she was just pushing a rack of her own clothes) -Siyeon and Sua are the guests who have been there for a while longer than the three new ones -Dami is the one that corrupts them all for/to Jiu as indicated by the black flower on ther face and her staring menacingly at Handong who was in bed bathed in red -Gahyeon seems to have a bigger story going on here, she seems to realize something is not right at the end so she tries to escape but Jiu who we thought was running from something as well was actually chasing down Gahyeon, in the end she caught her to be... something for herself. -there is also the theme of dopplegangers but idk how to interconnect the stories together, maybe the dopplegangers are simply there to push certain guests to corruption like Sua giving herself an apple from inside the broken mirror full or red light.

Officially the song that unravels a story of an obsession and longing for love. The capitalise BE in the title is supposed to sound likea Korean word meaning sadness, and the title BEcause could be loosely translate as the cause of sadness, and paired with the line BEcause I like you or BEcause I love you, the sadness is caused by liking or loving someone. Also, the MV plot theme has another layer that is said to borrow quite a bit of plot elements from the horror movie "US" where doppelgangers who were forced to live underground depraved of the "finer" things and are trying to are trying to take over their "privileged" above ground counterparts...won't go into much details as it would be better if you watch the movie yourself if you haven't). There are a lot of details in the MV that point to this such as the movie "US" has a hall of mirror, someone being captured and replaced, mirrored choreography etc., along with easter eggs that shows such as the MV is 3:13 minute long (coincidence? I think not) , and that the opening scene and ending scene has the members in completely different outfits, as well as the completely drain symmetrical hourglass at the end indicating that at some point, the doppelgangers replaced their original counterpart. Also, musicality, it plays into the theme of opposite doppelgangers where there is a two part chorus (whimsical and cute, and a more rock follow up) and two part bridge (slow singing and followed up by a low rap with atmospherically vocals behind) trying to show this mirror duality. There also another layer to the plot involving Gahyeon which I still trying to figure out (which I suspect is tied to the twist in the US movie).
Check out the lyrics, they are insane! The song is now translated with decent English captions. They explain so many things... The opening Hotel scene is actually the conclusion. They are all Shadows (Doppelgangers) there. That's why there are these crazy changes in Gahyeon's face. And did you notice? The clothes Evil Bellgirl Yoohyeon carries are all from the victims. What the Originals were wearing... And the hourglass starts again. New victims are coming. Places everybody! In the yard, the figures in black are actually the victims. A collection of the Shadows' dead dolls. Gahyeon and JiU end there in the end of the MV, while Maknae Shadow Mother Gahyeon takes her place in the throne room. (Very funny)... The MV is heavily influenced by the horror films "Us", "Psycho" and "Dollhouse". A summer holiday horror special matinee...
So, if "BE" is the Hanja character that means "sadness", and we consider "cause" as a noun, that would make the meaning of this song's title as "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to loosely mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That's very deep & profound. “Smile when you see me, smile at me / It’s just the two of us in this dark room / If you play with me today / I’ll give you something sweeter tomorrow,” Gahyeon and Yoohyeon sing on the pre-chorus. Btw the one who laughed at the end is Gahyeon so we see that Gahyeon is the main character. + they representing dolls and doppelganger (mirroring each other) And if you see the full performance/choreo you see Sua has the strings and controls the members (puppets/dolls) Also the Hotel remains me of the Kdrama Hotel the Luna and the Hotel belongs to Jiu.

I think the story is that JiU was the first one to find the Doppelgänger mirror, and after that she got replaced by an evil version of her (it makes more sense when you watch the mv countdown intro they made it). Then, she began to switch every costumer of the hotel with a Doppelgänger of them, and with their help, she switched Gahyeon at the end

After yesterday's outbreak due to the release of this MV, now I can comment with more serenity... WTF DREAMCATCHER? How can you be that awesome? Honestly people, there is no way to remain indifferent to this group. LOOK AT THEM!!! WOW... I've never freaked out so much like this for a girl group since the Spice Girls. Dreamcatcher is reaching a very high level in my musical concept and in my heart. All the aesthetics of the MV are the best of their career. From the color palette, to the makeup, to the costumes, the sets... Dude, the entire production design is FABULOUS. And let's face it... It was GREAT that they got references from "Us". The small gestures in the choreography referring to the film give that pleasant feeling to those who appreciate the movie. And this whole doppelgänger vibe is pretty sinister. I just didn't understand the story of the MV very well LOL But it seems to me that JiU and SuA were the ones who started to distort the others. The music itself is really good. The bridge and the pre-chorus are ADDICTIVE! The choreography feels more practical and less heavy than others they've done and that's great. We know the girls have an excellent choreographic ability. For the performances, the choreography has a much more theatrical than bold intention. Who is better in this era? Gahyeon! It's impossible not to mention how GIANT she is in this comeback. Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done.
About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that.
The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your expression is blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
The great thing about DC is that the producers seem to have the creative freedom to try new things, being experimental and have fun with the songs they produce (they clearly trust the girls to sell any songs, so should they). That's the first thing I have in mind when I listen to some of their song: Damn, Leez and Ollounder seemed to have so much fun producing this one. DC has a sound, but they are constantly trying out new things and evolving, that what makes them so good. BEcause have some cute part, some parts that are more playful, some parts are creepy, it's a never ending journey.
I have re-watched a 100 times and still discover more things each time.

Not gonna lie, one of my favorite parts of every Dreamcatcher comeback is trying to figure out which part of their MV is going to make you guys lose your shit the hardest. This time was pretty easy, since Gahyeon is hell-bent on killing us all right now with that hair and the whole yandere doll vibe. I really can't deal with her.

After much thought and watching the music video dozens of times, these are my theories and ideas for what I suspect is the story with this comeback:
Jiu runs a carnival and circus resort hotel. She is a mystical puppeteer and controls a group of five dolls to do her bidding around the resort. My guess is that she is after Gahyeon who is still human and not a doll yet. Then at the end, Jiu captures her and makes her a doll like the others. It's important to note that Gahyeon is very front and center in this video and the main character of the story, followed by Jiu. Gahyeon is also the only one to really make distinct facial expression changes, perhaps signifying her awareness to the audience or representing that she's the only one still human amongst the dolls.
It has been said that the theme and story is heavily inspired by Jordan Peele's "Us" so perhaps the theme of doppelgangers has something to do with it too. I have actually seen the film "Us" and I can see many references to it in the video, even in the choreography. I think the scene where Handong is standing alone with a pink skirt and literally sees her own feet being pulled away under a curtain could be representative of her being replaced by a doll or doppelganger and that's who is really standing there and not the real Handong. If you pay attention, you'll see that the girls at the beginning of the video all have different outfits than those at the end of the video. This could imply that they have been replaced by their doppelgangers or vice versa. It's hard to say which version of the girls are the real ones versus their doppelgangers, though it's quite often showcased how there are two of each of them in multiple scenes.
Jiu also has a large hourglass that she flips at the start of the song. At the end of the song, the hourglass sand stops and so do the dolls. She gives us a smirk, and then we hear a laugh. I think that's how she controls them. When it's flipped and the sand is moving, the dolls can be active. Power over time and the ability to puppet people seems to be Jiu's powers or capabilities to some degree or she has relics that help her, like the hourglass. It's possible that Jiu needs to capture humans and then do something to make them into dolls - like feeding them a cursed apple? - or she creates dolls that she can control in their likeness by killing their normal form and then putting their soul into the doll, thus making a fake version or doppelganger of them that she can use for her bidding. So Jiu lures in unsuspecting guests to her carnival and circus resort hotel and then snatches them away for herself. One of the final scenes where Gahyeon is on the throne and Jiu caresses her face is important. Gahyeon's line during this moment is "Because I love you". As she says that line, her facial expression changes from happy to more trance-like, which indicates that she may have fallen under Jiu's power and has become her doll. There's a double-meaning here too because of Gahyeon's line. She loves Jiu, but that love may be forced or coerced by Jiu herself because of her power to turn people into dolls and have them do her bidding. Gahyeon has no choice but to love Jiu because Jiu is forcing her to do so as her new doll that has been added to the collection. This all ties back into the song's theme of having a very obsessive and dangerous love for someone else to the point of stalking and controlling them. What's even more interesting is that love, by definition, must be freely given. You cannot force love otherwise it's not love at all. Thus, Jiu seems to be seeking for love, but can't find it, so she becomes evil and obsessive over creating a fake collection of friends that will always "love" her.
I also recently came to the understanding that "Special Albums", at least, in Dreamcatcher's case, are one-offs and stand-alone stories that are not connected to another nor will they be continued. So, think of this like their song "Deja Vu", which only had one video and a concise story all within the video itself and not continued or expanded upon in any other videos or songs. It's a shame if that is truly the case with this song and video, since this concept and theme are so strong and incredibly interesting. Either way, Dreamcatcher killed it. Also, the capital "BE" in "BEcause" supposedly represents a Chinese character that sounds like "bei' which means "sadness" or "negative love".
Lastly, I was on Dreamcatcher's reddit page earlier and as of today, "BEcause" is the fastest viewed Dreamcatcher comeback in history, surpassing over 9 million views in a record 1 day, 9 hours, and 55 minutes. That beats out even "Odd Eye" and "Boca", which both took a bit over three days each to reach 9 million views.

I feel like ive concocted a story for this mv, so, as i see it;
-Jiu is the ring leader, she bring in the guests into the hotel and signs them in as shes the receptionist
-Handong, Yoohyeon and Gahyeon are the newly arrived guests (also originally thought Yoohyeon worked for the hotel but its possible she was just pushing a rack of her own clothes)
-Siyeon and Sua are the guests who have been there for a while longer than the three new ones
-Dami is the one that corrupts them all for/to Jiu as indicated by the black flower on ther face and her staring menacingly at Handong who was in bed bathed in red
-Gahyeon seems to have a bigger story going on here, she seems to realize something is not right at the end so she tries to escape but Jiu who we thought was running from something as well was actually chasing down Gahyeon, in the end she caught her to be... something for herself.
-there is also the theme of dopplegangers but idk how to interconnect the stories together, maybe the dopplegangers are simply there to push certain guests to corruption like Sua giving herself an apple from inside the broken mirror full or red light.

This song is about an obsessive love that becomes really creepy, the title has the letters BE capitalized because in hanja be(悲) means sadness so the verse "because i like you" would end up being like... "the cause of sadness is i like you" or something like that, I am not sure at all. In the MV they are like dolls, that's the reason of the strange movements or facial expressions, to make it even more creepy.

Officially the song that unravels a story of an obsession and longing for love. The capitalise BE in the title is supposed to sound likea Korean word meaning sadness, and the title BEcause could be loosely translate as the cause of sadness, and paired with the line BEcause I like you or BEcause I love you, the sadness is caused by liking or loving someone.
Also, the MV plot theme has another layer that is said to borrow quite a bit of plot elements from the horror movie "US" where doppelgangers who were forced to live underground depraved of the "finer" things and are trying to are trying to take over their "privileged" above ground counterparts...won't go into much details as it would be better if you watch the movie yourself if you haven't). There are a lot of details in the MV that point to this such as the movie "US" has a hall of mirror, someone being captured and replaced, mirrored choreography etc., along with easter eggs that shows such as the MV is 3:13 minute long (coincidence? I think not) , and that the opening scene and ending scene has the members in completely different outfits, as well as the completely drain symmetrical hourglass at the end indicating that at some point, the doppelgangers replaced their original counterpart. Also, musicality, it plays into the theme of opposite doppelgangers where there is a two part chorus (whimsical and cute, and a more rock follow up) and two part bridge (slow singing and followed up by a low rap with atmospherically vocals behind) trying to show this mirror duality.
There also another layer to the plot involving Gahyeon which I still trying to figure out (which I suspect is tied to the twist in the US movie).
Check out the lyrics, they are insane! The song is now translated with decent English captions. They explain so many things...
The opening Hotel scene is actually the conclusion. They are all Shadows (Doppelgangers) there. That's why there are these crazy changes in Gahyeon's face.
And did you notice? The clothes Evil Bellgirl Yoohyeon carries are all from the victims. What the Originals were wearing... And the hourglass starts again. New victims are coming. Places everybody!
In the yard, the figures in black are actually the victims. A collection of the Shadows' dead dolls. Gahyeon and JiU end there in the end of the MV, while Maknae Shadow Mother Gahyeon takes her place in the throne room. (Very funny)...

I think the story is that JiU was the first one to find the Doppelgänger mirror, and after that she got replaced by an evil version of her (it makes more sense when you watch the mv countdown intro they made it). Then, she began to switch every costumer of the hotel with a Doppelgänger of them, and with their help, she switched Gahyeon at the end

WOW... I've never freaked out so much like this for a girl group since the Spice Girls. Dreamcatcher is reaching a very high level in my musical concept and in my heart.
All the aesthetics of the MV are the best of their career. From the color palette, to the makeup, to the costumes, the sets... Dude, the entire production design is FABULOUS.
And let's face it... It was GREAT that they got references from "Us". The small gestures in the choreography referring to the film give that pleasant feeling to those who appreciate the movie. And this whole doppelgänger vibe is pretty sinister. I just didn't understand the story of the MV very well LOL But it seems to me that JiU and SuA were the ones who started to distort the others.
The music itself is really good. The bridge and the pre-chorus are ADDICTIVE! The choreography feels more practical and less heavy than others they've done and that's great. We know the girls have an excellent choreographic ability. For the performances, the choreography has a much more theatrical than bold intention.
Who is better in this era? Gahyeon! It's impossible not to mention how GIANT she is in this comeback. They all are wonderful, but she delivers so much in this MV.
