MOUNT IRAYA • The Highest Peak of Batanes

If there’s one prominent landmark that won’t go unnoticed once you arrive in Batanes, it is Mount Iraya. In fact, everywhere you go in Batanes, you'll never lose sight of its imposing prominence. Boasting an elevation of over 1,000 meters above sea level, it is the highest peak of Batanes and the northernmost frontier of Philippine mountains.
The highest point of Mount Iraya what it looks like the crater rim was marked with a white concrete cross. My guide told me pilgrims usually flock Mt. Iraya during the Holyweek. From the summit, you can marvel around the breathtaking landscapes and seascapes of whole Batan Island.

Solid ng hike mo idol. Hindi pa ako nakapag Batanes pero pangarap ko makarating diyan. Yung view mula sa eroplano ang ganda. Ingat po lagi sa mga akyat niyo!

Salamat lods. Mahirap ang akyat pero buti talaga pinalad may clearing sa summit. Sa eroplano palanding palang ng Batanes sobrang napa-wow din talaga ako diyan. 😊

Ang ganda ng shape ng bundok na'to kita to lagi sa Basco eh. Parang kahugis ni Mayon Volcano perfect cone din shape. Ganyan pala ang itsura sa taas niyan, grabe ang ganda ng view.

Opo tama po kayo, Mount Iraya nga po ang nakikita niyong bundok sa Basco na hugis cone. Swerte nga po at nabigyan ng clearing kasi madalas daw puro fogs daw po yan sa tuktok.
