Great idea Mike about the masking, I always used masking to save on sanding, not positioning. A bonus is that you can do a light pass to double check position and then just leave the mask there and up the power to engrave through it without moving anything. I can see this working very well with metal too.
Yep exactly! Thanks for the feedback Jon, we always appriciate it!
@@TrotecLaserCanada - As to the Masking, we have a Speedy 300 Fiber at the Plant, and Regular Masking Tape, and Green Painters Tape, are difficult to do this approach with. Is it simply easier to deal with, if you are using a FLEXX, or a CO2 Laser?
Great Video Mike, Even an old timer like me learnt some new things!! Keep up the great work :)
Great video. But, music is distracting
Noted!
.
On the 2 logo job you could have just designed the Corel file with both logos positioned in the one file. The marker idea is good provided that future images or logos are sized correctly.
Wow! I have been Engraving Tools at work, with the Speedy 300 Fiber, and since Basically none of them can be put up into the 0:0 point for reference, I have been pretty much just moving the Red dot to my target point, for every job. And, since we have so many different tools to engrave, I have to figure out how to hold them, stable, level at the target point, and parallel to the Engraver X Axis, for each new tool!
The toggling the "Eye" preview on, is a nice tip, I just got, though! Thanks for that!
I recently took a whole Socket Set, in their Rack, and used a Clinometer App in my Phone, to check the X / Y Level! It worked great, from the 1/2" socket, right to the 1 1/4" Socket! I just put a plastic Scraper on the Sockets, and set the Phone on that, the Raise the low end of a Square Bare the Sockets sat on, until they were leveled, using a tapered tool as a Prop! Then I set a Point (F8) as desired, at each Socket! (It was a Busy screen!)
Hi Robert, thank you for the message. If you have any further issues with positioning you can always call our tech line and they can help!
@@TrotecLaserCanada - Thanks for the Reply. I will soon be back on my Regular Midnight Shift, so connecting during any particular problem, will not be so "Quick!" But, I just this past Wednesday got the JobControl 11.2.1 Installed! So far, so good! I like it!
Hello! I recently had a Silly Idea, since Testing engraving and "Hairline" "Cut" on the side of an Iced Tea (Pop?) Can, and with some tweaking, got Full "Cuts" through the Thin Sidewalls! (Speedy 300 Fiber), that got me thinking: "Can I Cut the Aluminum Top out of it, too?" With real slow speeds, and Multiple Passes, I think it could do it! Even though it's just a 30 Watt Laser, I am learning a lot lately, about Speed Ranges at the Low end! Tried as low as 0.1% even. Obviously, some techniques yield better results, but between jobs, I try new things! Sometimes Slower Speeds, sometimes More Passes, sometimes both!
Hi Robert, that sounds interesting!
how do you run the outline feature with the red dot? when I try to run it, it actually marks the outline on the part instead of just travelling around with the red dot to check position
The background audio is extremely disturbing.
I have a rayjet 50 and just bought another one . Love my machine but 1 thing I cant figure out is how do I position start the design from middle of object. I use corel and has the plugin . There is no option in there do do this any ideas?? TIA
Thanks! Yes Rayjet Commander software works differently from our JobControl software. A lot of the features like positioning are limited.
Why don't you use minimize to job size?
You can, it all depends on preference.
