    Hindu and Chinese has more then 4,000 years of history. That's what make them so special to me.

    Lovely. In the Philippines, Taoist and Buddhist temples do not sell joss sticks, its free. Also, black clothings are not allowed ( at least in one that I know of ).

    Just visited a temple in Huizhou in Guangdong Province. A very interesting place. There were separate rooms, burning incense and gifts being offered. Very good experience.

    Hi Mrs I was compelled to visit the local temple and was drawn to " grand pure one? " D the white haired old man. I lit an incense and cleaned up a little and went home.
    I'm traditionaly Catholic so I was very lost, but the men there were very welcoming. I'm going to pick some oranges with my family and come back. Thnks for sharing so us ignorant in these ways can participate.

    We have a Thien Hau temple here in Los Angeles, although it's only open 3 days a week now, I'd like to go back and visit the temple.

    Thank you! Been looking for something like this! How do you say 'temple' in Cantonese? Is it different depending on the type? Buddhist / tao etc?

    You should light up the incense and candles 🕯 using the oil lamp 🪔 like shown in 2:29 instead of the red candles.

    You stepped into the temple with your right foot whereas I was told that you should always step inside with your left foot, and remember to step back outside with your right foot. Is that correct?

    Its not a must to wear like that. Philosophers, gods never considered those things. But its good to be more respectful from clothing too, there's a way to dress according to the occasion. We don't wear what we wear for beach when visiting somewhere. However main thing is mind, if you are not pure from your inner side, its useless

      @invokingvajras 8 месяцев назад +1

      Folk religion. The temple is called a “廟 Miao,” which is used to enshrine deities and sages in both Confucian and Taoist beliefs. The main goddess enshrined here is also known as “Mazu” who is very popular in Chinese coastal regions and abroad.
