It is sad that they don't play his music on the radio or in public places anymore...

Beautiful books. I was glad to see where the photo that is the cover of the Heartbreak Hotel extended play record came from.

Thanks David, glad you liked 🙂 yes, that one is well worth tracking down if you can. Looks like a couple sold relatively recently on eBay and not for silly money either, so I'm sure if you keep looking you should hopefully get lucky. Take care, Sean

The Frankie and Johnny head crop is very close but it's actually another Girl Happy photo where he's wearing a different shirt. Possibly taking the same day. Great video, thanks for sharing.

I don’t know.. that tape book is costly but, wow, fascinating. If you look carefully at the packaging of Elvis cassettes/8 tracks/reel tapes you will see that the running order of the tracks is different from the LPs. Given that we know the albums and how they run by heart, this provides some fresh light on the subject. A few years ago I got hold of a New Zealand copy of Roustabout (RCA International) with the tracks in a different order. I find it much more listenable than the usual one.

Yes, very good point, and when I discovered that the tape book could be had for around the £35 mark, it didn't seem such a bad choice

Yes indeed, and one particular Elvis 8-track cartridge that had/has a unique title that wasn't found on cassette tape or LP was "Elvis Sings Songs of Christmas" 13:40 Good luck trying to find that one now!

Love Elvis' first album, great in every way. Don't like reissues without the pink/green logo, The typeface was unique but has since become available called London Presley. Was a little disappointed with 'The Definitive Artwork' book. Not much literature, was hoping to see art used before EP superimposed, such as Roustabout carnival painting. Love the mock up covers at the back. Prefer the '71 Xmas LP mock up than actual one used, more engaging. Didn't get cassette/cartridge book for reasons you give, same artwork just adapted to fit.

I never knew the typeface had been given a name, thanks for sharing. I may well have to find something to use it on now 😂 love the idea of seeing the cover elements unaltered. Someone should definitely do that!

@@sincerelyelvispresley Pleasure. Yes typeface is free on 1001 free fonts. I drew the Roustabout cover and filled in the gaps where Elvis is superimposed, for fun. Elvis and Beatles had some real nice thought out artwork...so does Johnny Hallyday another idol of mine, take care!
