Kacey, great video! I admire you for letting us see what you life is like while working. Everyone has different spending habits and everyone has an opinion! Thank you for sharing!
I’m old now, but I remember what it was like worrying about spending $$ on meals. And today everything is so much more expensive!!! Believe me, though I can afford more, sometimes just having almond butter on toast for dinner tastes fine! Followed by a pear or a banana. A couple of hours later, something else. If you are famished…go for the $16 meal. By all means. But pack the nutritious and yummy convenience food for when you want to skip the exorbitant prices. Loved this vlog! I want to send you a coffee!!
That great that you track. I did on a 4 day and then decide I need to pack my food and also just walk and not shop. Thank you for showing me I’m not the only one who had done this experiment.
I have to say (and I'm sorry!) but I busted out laughing when you dropped the food. Your expression was priceless! Ideas for video? Hmmm....maybe a tour of the new place you moved to? The pool, gym, etc. Maybe another Q&A? I for one would love to know what those rings mean during the flight you hear from time to time. I'm guessing its from the flight deck. Maybe doing a question to the flight crew on their favorite places to stay over at? (Can aim the camera at the floor if they don't wish to be seen). Worst trip you ever did, best trip, most annoying passenger requests, etc. Hope this helps!
Many moons ago we use to get crew allowance $ for food and a cleaning allowance to have our uniforms cleaned 🇨🇦 for each trip that we had a layover. We had a staff parking lot so no fee to park. Yes the library is a good plan. Ask the front desk for a few extra kcups & cream when you check in, I alway have zip lock bags with me in case I have leftovers, easy to carry. I always take protein bar ,cereal bars, peanut butter and crackers a plastic cutlery set in a small Rubbermaid containers in my suitcase. Check to see if the hotel has continental breakfast? Or if they serve breakfast, if they do take banana or apple and muffin ( put in ziplock) for a snack to eat as you explore the city you are in and you will then have extra $ to get lunch or a drink ☕️, 💦 That parking is way too much to pay, look to see if there is something else. ♥️🇨🇦
As a frequent domestic flyer - I learned to follow my own system. I would park in the long term parking & save $20.00 for the day. I only had to get a shuttle bus to & from the terminal. I was a member of the lounges so ate for free & was sure to grab a water or 2 + snack food from there. Us Aussies are not into brewing coffee so I bring the Cappucino Sachets - add hot water & sugar. It soon adds up & me spending 5 mins to get my car is $20 well saved. A few trips a week & its $60-$80 saved.
This summer, on prime day, get a kindle. Then get a library card in Dallas and install overdrive on your phone so that you can borrow books from the library and read them on the kindle. Even a paid kindle unlimited subscription would cost less per month than you are paying for one book... Also, consider carrying a few cocktail party sized paper plates for doing reheats.
Kacey I hate wasting water but in those hotels let the water run for thirty seconds before you take some for your coffee maker so you get the sitting water out of the pipes and the fresh flow from the curb.
Oh girl you still don't have that Dallas library card with FREE electronic books! I get the whole "book in your hand" feeling but I like the Benjamins in mine! Plus you can check out ANYTIME - ANYWHERE! Put it on your to do list. And most libraries have Hoopla which is like FREE Netflix!

I wasn't expecting a new video so yay!! I think somebody else recommended it last time, but it would be funny to see your boyfriend doing your voiceover for an updated work makeup routine. Like he could narrate it and dub over you so it looks like you're talking with his voice. Pretty much like the world's longest tiktok 😂😂
Hi Kacey, we enjoyed this video. You asked for ideas, and our idea is a bloopers/funny out-takes compilation. You might even set them up with your usual insightful and endearing commentary. Also, your videos are getting much smoother and better overall with your shooting, editing and music choices. Since we live in Austin, we’re glad to hear that you like our airport…
So glad you discovered packing cubes! I've been using them for years and love them. Some people say they hate them and they take up more space but I think they're crazy. I love knowing where everything is in my suitcase and being able to grab the cube that I need right when I open my bag.

First posting of your's I've seen and well done!! Your job kind of reminds me of a truck driver that spends so much time away from home=on the clock almost! You could enter a 3 legged race obviously, three legs to the trip. Bring empty microwave safe, food saver containers with you, pack them amongst the packing cubes, lid off, so that you have no empty space. That way if you have styrofoam, which isn't microwave safe, you can put your leftovers in the microwavable containers to reheat them. Glad to see you made it out of Newark ok. I stayed at the airport Hampton inn there once and had the chance to talk to a pilot who was on a layover. He said he had stayed in Hampton inn all around the country and that was the worst one in the chain... Sorry Newark.....
Have you ever tried freeze dried foods? They're cheap and not bad.You can get them at camping stores. Too bad you forgot to wear your "Fozzie Bear" coat. It looked like a lot of cold weather. Manny F.
Having worked for TWA back from 86 - 90, we had Crew Parking Lots at the airport.. is that now a thing of the past? Plus we made Per Diem from the time of Check-in to the time of check-out for the pairing. Our Pier Diem was 1.50 per hour while away from domicile.
When you reached for the Ruth Ware book, right above it was Me Before You by Jo Jo Moyes; a great read! Almost finished with The Silent Patient, a good read if somewhat dark. Thanks for the recommendation! I’m reminded of a show that used to be on hosted by Rachael Ray called $40 a day. She traveled places and showed how to eat on $40 a day. So, you did pretty good @$50, especially with airport food!

I've made a rating system which obviously excludes Kerigs. Let me know if you are ever in NYC as I am deployed over here!!
How about traveling with dehydrated soup and maybe a 3 ounce can of tuna ? You only need hot water and you have a filling meal along with protein. That is my go-to when I am flying anywhere. I also have granola bars and my own tea bags. I refuse to pay for overpriced food or drinks when I travel.
Any interesting artwork in Hotel lobbies you could film ? How about Skyway bridges that connect terminals, parking areas, since they have window glass any interesting views from them ? Food is always good to view - it's hard to suggest things to vlog, your vlogs are always interesting

Great video as always. Just a thought, don't let your gas get all the way down. when it gets to a 1/2 then fill it, that's what I do and it saves a little bit of money..
Hate to tell you but a lot of people here in DC have jobs where they either have to pay $15 a day for parking or else pay for expensive public transport
A comparison cost saving tips for air travel, especially with items that won’t spoil or need fridge. Canned tuna or chicken fresh/ dried fruits nuts, etc I’ve too have been using the packing cubes a few years now and love them!
From one book reader to another Kacey, Kindle is your friend. That book you purchased is $9.49 with immediate download. As a committed Amazon devotee you should include an e reader as part of your 'tool kit'. Was surprised at the coffee price in the home of coffee drinkers 😀 $7.80 in our currency and I would never pay that! The parking cost I thought reasonable and your justification spot on - can also add safety. Finally the food purchases really a lifestyle choice and whatever your comfortable with. Enjoyed the video.
@@velvetjones1856 Yes I have an iPad air2 and initially did use that however the more I read the heavier the iPad got lol! Battery life quickly became an issue for me soooo then convinced myself to lash out for a Kindle Oasis. Honestly, one of the best purchases I have ever made for a 'selfish indulgence'.
@@kvom01 by airplane books I assume you mean purchase from a bricks & mortar at the terminal? I am not familiar with how the local library might work. $112 isn't too too bad. Plus, I wouldn't of counted the book - that's like a purchase you would of got even if you weren't working. It's like going to the movies, or some other entertainment. Everyone deserves a little treat like a book.
Might be getting down in the weeds too much to question the accounting for the book while not accounting for the trip expense related to operating Kacey's car - which is essential.
Out of curiosity ... How do you handle hotel checkout times? Example: your van pickup is at 12:30, but hotel checkout is 11:00 AM. Or do hotels make exceptions to accommodate flight crews? Or is the airline paying for the hotel? P.S.: There's lots of great eating places in Newark, but off the airport property. The Ironbound is the section of Newark closest to the airport. Its known for its Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian restaurants (if you have the time). Come hungry.
Have you ever tried the freeze-dried backpacker meals? They might be more affordable if you buy them in bulk; it's a bag that requires no refrigeration; all you do is fill it with boiling water and shake it and let it sit. Maybe not an every-day thing, but definitely something you could stick in a spare corner of your carryon for contingencies. Once they're reheated they're about at the level of a frozen dinner. ...I bought a few to try them out, and the freshness date said "Good till 2051". I'm not sure I'll even be around in 2051...
Greetings Kacey. Many 🤗 to you for the sad news over the weekend. Like you I’m very surprised that the Wildcats lost in the first round. Hopefully they’re much better next year and win the championship. Otherwise that is a lot of money you spend on each airline tour. Just be safe out there.
Hiya Kasey What I find shocking is US cabin crew don’t have crew parking and crew meals onboard. I worked for a UK based airline for a few years and if the CC didn’t have crew meals onboard the aircraft didn’t move, do your flight crew have meals onboard or do they have to do the same thing Ie bring their own food? Am sure your aware that flying drys up skin and puts years on a young girls face but your still looking beautiful x
Welcome back, loved your tracking the expenses. It seems like you actually save money when you're flying, you would spend three times that amount if you stayed home. -- Great upload, thanks. ---
Kacey,if you think your gas ⛽️ prices are high, come to the UK 🇬🇧 and see what you think of our petrol ⛽️ prices. You wouldn't think yours were high after that.🤯
So a good average would be $50/day for everything. Book would be amortized over multiple days unless you read it all at once. Don't you get around 15-20 flight days a month? Let's go with 18 days for the purposes of calculations. 18X50=$900/mo x12 = $10,800/yr. Now for fun, if you saved just $10/day that brings it down to $720/mo or $8,640/yr. That's a $2,160 savings! That's some pretty righteous coin!
"Make-up not cooperating". Ha ha ha. That's a funny one. Never spend money on books. Your taxes (in your rent cost) pay for something called a "public library". They are great and offer a lot of "free" besides hard cover books. Wet napkin in your burrito is free extra fiber. Good video.
Sure the parking price may be steep, but you're paying a premium for convenience. I'm sure a lot of us would be more open to it if we were also in a work situation. Also count me down for bf does my voiceover, that sounds like a fun idea :)
I can only imagine this came from people asking how do you make any money if you spend that much. You go girl and I hate that saying but it’s perfect for this You go. She knows what she’s doing.
Could have done it cheaper but I appreciated the honesty
Kacey you look gorgeous without makeup , nice to your sis in the log .. thnx for the nice video 😊
Great flight attendant 👩✈️ vlog Kacey
Kacey, I love packing cubes. Compression cubes are even better! Absolute game changer.
Thanks for taking us along -- how was the book?
It was alright, not my favorite! I bet compression cubes are amazing!!
Yeah the hotels make exceptions for crews! We never have to worry about check out times haha
I don't spend money on books. I borrow books from a library. Some libraries also sell used books for a dollar. Or $2.
That was the saddest 😿😿😿
Hey Kacey, What is your favorite Hotel to stay in…Double Tree, Hyatt, Marriott, etc. ?
Hiya Kasey
What I find shocking is US cabin crew don’t have crew parking and crew meals onboard.
Not often I find someone else who spells their last name the same way I do. Great video!
And don`t forget the hotel housekeeping tip.
Welcome back, loved your tracking the expenses. It seems like you actually save money when you're
flying, you would spend three times that amount if you stayed home. -- Great upload, thanks. ---
I love that Renaissance hotel in Newark.
btw, your parents are HILARIOUS!!
hope that you are using airline employee discounts for all that stuff in the airport!
Kacey,if you think your gas ⛽️ prices are high, come to the UK 🇬🇧 and see what you think of our petrol ⛽️ prices. You wouldn't think yours were high after that.🤯
Safe travels. Thank you for sharing. Ciao. 2022.
Ruth Ware is one of my favorite authors!
She’s so good!
Kacey Love You and pray the best for you.
Always need to prepare emotionally for EWR hotel shuttle system
🤣🤣🤣 now I know
I really enjoyed this video!
Thank you!! 😊
2:36 I always get Starbies in the airport too hehehe 😜
It’s just better in the airport 👌💕

You don't get airlines employees discount on the book? I use to but since the virus I haven't try. Keep up the great videos
I am doing PHL to DFW and back on AA April 11th and 13th...hope to see you if you are working!
Good calculation 🧮
Makes me crazy when they put only Decaf in the room. I can deal with a lot but that’s pushing it for me 🤣
"Make-up not cooperating". Ha ha ha. That's a funny one. Never spend money on books. Your taxes (in your rent cost) pay for something called a "public library". They are great and offer a lot of "free" besides hard cover books. Wet napkin in your burrito is free extra fiber. Good video.
Do you not receive a per diem for food from the airline? The food looked tasty. Love your videos. ☺
Please tell me you are putting max in your 401k?!
Sure the parking price may be steep, but you're paying a premium for convenience. I'm sure a lot of us would be more open to it if we were also in a work situation. Also count me down for bf does my voiceover, that sounds like a fun idea :)
What a lovely eyes you are having, God bless you always
Wow that adds up quick 😞 great video ♥️
$112 dollars!...... That's like two tanks for the Honda.😂?
Bye the way..... what happened to Kentucky basketball last week?
I can only imagine this came from people asking how do you make any money if you spend that much. You go girl and I hate that saying but it’s perfect for this You go. She knows what she’s doing. She has multiple sources of income don’t worry about it. Thank you so much Casey for the entertainment I love you and your family so much. From a far of course.
