love this man! going to binge them all! Im looking at an 84 xl185 s to make into a daily cummuter and trail making buggy since my 82 xr80 is a tad too small and my 01 cr hard enduro bike should be left alone lol love the old honda stuff !!
Hey mate great build,I have the same bike I've been working on and riding, can you tell me where you got the red timing plug caps from thanks pal keep going
Guna enjoy following this one, I have an XL125 which are almost identical to the 185. Picked it up to race in the black yack race in France also inspired by Greg Gilson! But missed out... Im based in the UK, what was the name of the ebay shop you mentioned?
That’s unreal dude, I appreciate the support. Got big plans for the old girl! My idea is to do videos like Greg Gilson too but my own Australian sorta version. That’s sick, are you planning to go to the next one? The account was called BERLT, they do cams, heads, barrels etc. Link: ebay.com.au/usr/leezy_61_123
Hiya - what brand is that 26mm carb? any links to where you bought it? Thinking of doing a similar engine build using the BERLT big bore and modified cylinder head! Cheers :)
Oko 26mm pwk carb, I bought mine in Australia so it probably be easier to find one in your country, just make sure it’s genuine and made in Taiwan, lots of copy’s out there! Definitely worth it! Keen to see how much power it pushes out once it is built!! I will be doing a video on upgrading the clutch so it can handle the extra power so subscribe if you haven’t 😁 Love hearing people having similar plans to mine. Cheers mate!
Oh by the way I fitted a CRF250 powerbomb exhaust and a 27mm round slide carb to mine and it runs real poky keeps up with all my mates modern bikes and my son's gas gas 300
That’s awesome man, how did you get the crf250 pipe to fit? Just cut it and welded it to fit? They are surprising bikes once you wake them up a bit for sure !!
@@BonifaceRides the exhaust header fits the same as XL but the centre joining part behind the airbox you have to buy 3 peices off eBay,two bends and one straight piece then the rear tube gets cut a little shorter depending on where you hang the silencer but you also have to make clearance for the shock and the tyre when the suspension compresses, all I did was put the tube in a press heat it up and squeeze it enough to clear but don't go too much or you will restrict the flow also no welding I just got the tubes the right size to sleeve over and use good mikalor clamps,it's solid and don't move, and as you have flattened out the clutch release arm this won't catch on the header either
I've got a]my dads 1988 xl185s in desperate of restoration, so i'm going to complety rebuild everything. Good to see the xl185s are still around

@@BonifaceRides I used a Chinese copy 27mm with a 105 main it's just on the brink of rich but with the standard airbox works great.
