Mango, Abuela, and Me - Read Aloud

This book shares what it's like to have a grandma move in! It's pretty exciting, but since Mia can't speak the same language as the grandma it can be a challenge! How will Mia and Abuela manage?
The author, Meg Medina, is able to mix in English and Spanish without causing confusion to the reader. She shows how hard it can be to communicate when you don't speak the same language. In the story both characters choose to learn the other's lanaguage, showing respect and genuine interest in the other, and wanting to have mouths full of things to say to each other.
Angela Dominguez is the illustrator of this warm book about family.
