What a nice bloke. Despite all the pressure he's under at Newcastle, he's copping it a lot, I wish him well. Rather than push the point about his two goals to clinch the title, he talks up Dennis Irwin, real class.
Stevie Bruce, United legend. Lifelong memories as a kid that didn't have much listening on the radio to Brucey leading the Reds for those early glory years. Wembley 1990. Rotterdam. 92/93. Special memories.
The fact that Steve Bruce was always on the team sheet tells you everything. He gave everything on the pitch for the team, I wish I could say that for all of our players today.
After some research he also got 10 one season and 7 in another, for some context on that... David beckham scored 61goals for utd all in, bruce had 36 in 3 seasons lol
Bruce and Pally at the back. What a partnership that was.. maybe only beaten by Rio and Vidic. Bruce thank you for the great times you gave us United fans in the 90s 👏🍻⚽️😎
Of all the Captains MUFC have had, Bruce is my favourite. As a child I started supporting them in 89/90 season, although Robbo was captain then, it was Bruce who captained my childhood team.
Brucie as Utds captain was where it started for me and is up there with the rest of Utds legends. Captains Log video was on endless repeat growing up God the players Fergie has managed since the 80s!
Paul McGrath's "issues" always kept him from being a truly world class defender. His performance agains't Italy in 94 and keeping the best player in the world at the time, Baggio, quiet led him to being included in Baggio's world cup 11 team. What if?
Interesting thing about Fergie, he could put up with a lot from a top player to keep him sweet (Eric, Roy etc) but one thing he wouldn't countenance was drinking. It was the cardinal sin. Considering how well Paul did at Villa and Ireland into the mid 90's, he probably should have given him a chance and tried to help him. He could have went on to be an all time Utd great and played a big part in the early success.
Brucey is full of character unlike most of the modern drones, great interview and I also remember where I was when he bagged those two late headers, great captain and leader.
Great 👍 to hear Steve Bruce talk about his time at Man U, I laughed 😂 when he talked about Sir Alex’s phone call to come round for a cuppa, that put him and his wife in a tizzy, wondering why as it was unprecedented. 🤔 All the best Steve, whatever you decide going forward, and congratulations on 1000 games as a manager, that alone proves your worth as a manager, take care. 👍🏴
Steve was a top top player for Utd, he gave more than his all every game and scored a lot of goals, well above average for a CB. Good bloke and manager and hope he does wonders for Newcastle.
I remember where I was when Bruce scored that extra time 6 min header. I was in Victor Value (became quick save) in Droylsden buying beers. it was playing on the radio....1152 Manchester, John Gwnne commenting. I'm a Man City fan. I bought more beers.
Honestly saying saw bruce play for man u an this guy made man u tick he bruce was a master of defender him pallister like a rock best pairing defence I saw u new they will win with these too brucy boy u ar top draw.
I will never forget that header against sheff wednesday as long as i live, still get shivers down my spine watching it Pallister on the right wing crossing to bruce
Players sir Alex had were all captain material..contrast that with utd’s players today and nobody seem qualified to be captain. The contrast in personalities and character is so telling, that is so apparent. Ronaldo’s comeback might just change that. He is the type of player needed to bolster the squad. Paying them a lot of money when not deserving doesn’t help.
I'm not sure that I'd class Phil Neville as being a more talented footballer than Gary. In my opinion, Gary Neville was a far better right back / right wing back than Phil was a left back. Gary might not have been the best defender in the world but he linked up well with David Beckham and did some great overlapping play on the right wing, which he did a lot better than Phil did with Giggsy on the left wing. Probably the only advantage that Phil had over his brother was that he was a bit more versatile and could play in more positions......but I think that was because Phil played more as a substitute and utility player, whereas Gary was mainly just a right back, but he was a regular 1st team player who made that position his own for quite a long time 👍
"Steve Bruce interviews Steve Bruce"

Separated at birth but bought back for a one off lock down special. Thank you Sky Sports.
Quality interview, Steve Bruce is a genuine bloke, and it shines through. Well done Sky, more great content.
Sky Sports please get Sir Alex on the show. Sincerely everybody 😁
Some people are too big for sky sports, that's why you never see Cantona doing punditry

Lucky enough to meet Steve Bruce in Portugal a few years ago at a golf course he was brilliant and so genuine.
That wasn't Steve Bruce. You actually met his lookalike interviewer.

Never thought I'd see Louis Van Gaal interview Steve Bruce

Steve Bruce scored 19 goals in 1 season for utd.
What year my friend?
I was convinced this comment was bullshit but my god he actually did. It was the 1990-91 season haha

Steve Bruce is a kind man
He couldn’t be more right about Paul McGrath. I was in awe of his natural ability.
Crying shame he didn’t feature more.

I love Steve’s picture up on the wall of a grey sky on a gloomy British day, inspiring
his love for Gary Neville
Do footballers get a discount on grey paint?

It’s to match there personalities lol
Fond, fond memories of Bruce and Pally at the back. 2 warriors.
As a Spurs fan, I have a lot of time & respect for Steve Bruce, an honest & genuine guy who gets a lot of unfair criticism at times!
Sir Alex is the greatest manager ever !!!!!
Rossco M Absolutely, no question!!
For the time being yes but history is always under threat from the future.

PFA player of the year 95 McGrath was World class a Rolls Royce
When I first started going to matches as a boy during the Atkinson years, McGrath was my absolute hero.

Ole is such a nice bloke and was a good player. Obviously not manager material for a club like united. His temperament is too cool to be effective.
