34) Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says.
35) And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.
1 TIMOTHY 2:11-12 NKJV
11) Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.
12)And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

I've been following ASBC for a while and just came across this. Rev. Zina is amazing, a dear friend and mentor. So glad God brought her to ASBC on this day.

Truly an Amazing Word. We so need ppl like this in our lives who will hold us accountable. She preached this message, she gave the good the bad and the ugly and I say this is Love! We can never forget where it all comes from. Yes Pastor Wesley is Anointed and truly Gifted and I feel what speaks with volume is his humbleness. One thing I've always admired about Dr. Wesley is his acknowledgement of all the support he has around him. I have never heard him take all credit for this Phenomenal Ministry that he leads. And I also believe because of his humbleness the ppl of God love and support him. Alfred Street family you are equally Amazing. May God continue to flourish this Beautiful ministry. Lives are being transform. Dr. Zina . To God Be The Glory for All the GREAT things He has done. May Heaven continue to smile upon you. We are the salt of the earth.

@@colorful7outlook717 Please do not take the scriptures that you are quoting, out of context. As yourself did you study the history of the text, probably not. Did you study the culture of the text your quoting, probably not. Did you study who Paul was talking to in the text? Probably not. Yet you pick up a few scriptures and take them out of context. And try to justify a dogmatic caveman theology. And then you take the cake by saying God doesn't bless disobedience. If that is the case why does he keep blessing you. Please go and study the scripture and then let it study you. You will realize it's important to study the bible as a whole to prevent yourself from being out of context

Not sure what message you were listening to but I can see the erroneous lense or prism through which you were listening to this sermon. But to tackle your Scripture references, those Scriptures have been taken out of their original context. This is why it is vital to study the Word to show ourselves approved and to rightly divide the Word of truth. I know what those Scriptures say on the surface but if you dig deeper, you will see that Paul was a addressing an isolated incident that was occurring in the church in Corinth. God IS NOT sexist. God has no respect of persons. God can USE a rock, the wind or a donkey. WHY would GOD Almighty NOT be able to USE a woman, whom He both formed and BLESSED, whom He also placed His spirit in, simply because she is not a man?! No. The devil IS a liar! God uses whom He WILLS and gives GIFTS (see Ephesians 4:11-16) to WHOM HE Wills. God bless you and may this help you to change what u have been wrongfully taught. -Bryan

Qualified Elders
5) For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you-
6) if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination.
7) For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,
8) but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, 9 holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

Qualified Elders
