I spent my high school years going to the high school library and reading gun magazine articles written by Skeeter and many others. I doubt that happens anymore.
I grew up on Skeeter's writing. Some lucky person is going to own this great revolver. Hopefully it will not disappear, never to be seen again like Elmer Keith's Number 5.
I will never forget this Skeeter Skelton story from the early-mid 1970's. When confronting an "unbidden guest" from south of the border, the man said "that's the beegest darn peestol I ever see", when looking down the subway size bore. It could have been this very Ruger.
Oh Just Great!... Now I've got get up and walk the whole way out to the Kitchen to get a Paper Towel because I Slobbered all over my Tablet Screen.... This has happened several times before while watching RIA Videos and once or twice when I got the "Congratulations, You Won" Notification from Gunbroker..... Hahaha!...
Skeeter's articles were worth the price of subscription. Miss him.
As a young man born in the 90’s, Skeeter’s writings are still wonderful reads to this day. It’s a shame we lost him and his son so soon.
Same here

I always enjoyed Skeeter’s articles and six-gun wisdom.
Skeeter was my all time favorite gun writer!
I grew up reading firearms magazines. I like Skeeter but my favorites were Elmer Keith and Jack O’Connor
Great Video!

Those articles convinced me to buy a super Blackhawk in the 80s

Who ever gets this pistol, had better not lock it in a glass case. This one was made to use.
I can never understand why the family doesn’t keep these guns and cherish them.
His son passed away and had no one to pass it on too. very sad.
@@pcb8639Bart was a great writer too.
His best Writing was his autobiographical “Me and Joe “ stories. I used to read to my sisters children.
My dad read them to me as a kid also.
Collecting and provenance. I get it. These guys are masters at selling the sizzle and not the steak.
You have to have the sizzle to cook the steak but it sounds like you’re happier with ground beef since that’s more your style.
@ Did I insult you somehow snowflake or is this your only past time?
RIA are masters at marketing. You may not like it but it’s the truth.
