Its called fusion!!! Inspiration is taken from both worlds. Now one cannot dress exactly the same as it used be in 18th century there should be modern aspects to it.
Um not really. All of them are of course Indian attire that is , all of these are traditional wears. And Indian traditional wears can be too much for people who are not Indians. Specially some north Indian traditional attires .Like, jewelry and or the detailed work in clothes and the colors of course . But south too have too much of gold work. Something that is not not very common in west . :))
To be honest Indians do wear stuff like this but it is slightly too busy in terms of being conflictingly ornate but its still wearable in India. People do wear these things. India used to opulent thats why Britishers went there to give them 'civilization' same way America gives 'freedom' to countries with oil deposits. Well when you are starving in plague infested poor countries and you see a soft country thriving you kinda go and rob and exploit them for 200 years and make up a story about civilizing it.
These garments are stunningly gorgeous, I’m just now learning g of this designer.
I love all these ornate and colourful floral patterns. Just amazing!

Some of the outfits are very much influenced by western couture...
Yeah a bit. We call it " fusion" . Or "Indo western" as these dresses are meant to be kinda traditional.
No shit Sherlock. Whole world is 'influenced' by Western culture thanks to Colonialism.
