Professor Kesting, in MMA we often see rear naked chokes, guillotine chokes, arm triangle chokes, leg triangle chokes, D'Arce. But not many north-south chokes in UFC. Why is that? Thank you.
When going for the choke how do you combat the opponent from turning onto their side, facing you, and escaping the choke? I typically transition to the kimura when this happens.
I love going for North South choke, but I'm never sure that their head is in the right place to complete the choke. Do you have a way to "feel" if it's in the right place or do you simply force it with the rib technique you mentioned?
Nice lookin gi you got there Stephan! If the sale didn't end in the middle of a pay period, I'd probably have one myself ;-) Let me know if/when you're offering them again!
Stephan hello I need your advice,i live in Ukraine and all bjj schools in my city are closed, what can I do at home to not lost my progress and not forget all what i know, for example i gonna to buy wrestling maneken and train submissions at home
Thank you for sharing. I am going to try to implement these on the mat now when I roll. **UPDATE** I have been trying to use this during my sparing sessions and I have been having great success. Especially with the North South Kimura. I have yet to successfully submit someone with the North South Choke, although I have gotten them flattened out with my arm around and I scoot scoot scoot while trapping the hip with my other hand.
I love the north south choke, it became one of my go to moves in the gym and as a white belt, I only now thought to look up if there are other moves from north south LMAO amazing video thank you
Great 👍🏼 moves, Stephan. I usually go for either NS Choke or transition to a Papercutter moving back to side control - I need to get that Kimura & Backtake (sometimes can’t get hooks in) - btw, I love that Gi! The black & grey with that awesome 👏 stitching looks amazing, very classy!!!
We’ll explained on the north south choke. Going to try it out this week 👌
