  • Man, April was awesome this year here in Whistler. The season may have had a rough start, (and then a rough mid season to boot)- but then the winter fully held on for the spring months. Its still feeling pretty wintery up there.
Anyways, this particular day started off rough. I had been in line since 6 30 AM, but due to lift lines icing- there were a myriad of problems that delayed opening from Creekside Village. Furthermore, once we got up Creekside, Red Chair had also been delayed- forcing us to wait until 9:30 for it to open. Because of this, by the time we actually got to the top- most of my immaculate early morning powder laps had already been tracked. So I decided to switch mountains, and head over to my powder stash- the Andreas Woods on Seventh Heaven.
Once there, the day picked up, and I was able to get full reign of some awesome untouched powder lines. Super lucky that no one else has the gusto to make it out and over into these woods. They are kind of "out of the way", and remain a well guarded secret on my part.
I made the most out of the laps that I could, trying to showcase tight line choices and stylistic surf inspired riding. A couple of times I fly a little too close to the sun and almost end up in a tree well. Oh well, if you aren't falling you ain't trying.
I was shredding on my Lib Tech Orca- which as many viewers know- is my all time favourite all mountain snowboard. Its shape works perfect for the kind of riding I pursue. I use the 159, cause I like the added float of the longer size. I still find that its super agile.
All in all it was another hoot of a day, and I'm super glad I got it on film to share with you guys.
Thanks for watching, don't forget to like and subscribe!
Filmed April 3rd 2024 on a GoPro Hero 9 on Whistler Blackcomb.
    Cheers!
