The design of the extension rod is really great, especially in places with lots of people, I can always shoot what I want and keep the picture clean. Love it
excellent point. I am not a super fan of extension rods but I have to admit, I have used it exactly how you described in a few occasions

Fantastic review. I went ahead and ordered it today because I saw it went on sale. One question, is it possible to shoot footage using the built-in camera app of the phone while using the gimbal, or is does it only work while the app is open?
yes, you can use your regular phone camera while using the gimbal for the stabilization
Hi Otto! I really like your videos. I love the background and how you explain things. Do you know if there's any gimbal that supports filming in 4k 60fps when it comes to Samsung S22 (Androids)? I checked a couple of them, but there's always a problem that some features are not available for Androids. I will be very thankful for your help. I love my Samsung and don't want to switch to iPhone that is more expensive... I know that we can use the native camera app, but come on.
I know the feeling Mikov. Every gimbal will have the same issue with your phone, no 60fps inside their apps. Not 100% their fault, Samsung have stated that they don’t want third party apps accessing all their camera features 😢

It does have Vortex mode, only that you have to manually do it on the dial wheel after long pressing on the dial function switch button. Or you set it on the A/B point trajectory memory button-and have it function automatically.

Hola JRC, todos estos gimbals de diferentes marcas no van a ofrecer 60fps en 4K, y mucho menos 120fps.Solamente en algunos casos muy particulares de modelos especificos, pero en la serie Note no lo vas a conseguir.
This looks promising. I've tried lots of gimbals and all except the OM3 have disappointed for one reason or another.
Gimbals used to be bad, until recent years (just my opinion from a consumer point of view)
I bought this gimbal and it only worked 2 times the third time it didn't charge the battery anymore so it stopped working. I contacted the company to ask for some guidance, they do not respond. Anyone who buys know that there is no after sale. I bought it at the company's official store. I will never buy another product from this brand. In my experience, I don't recommend this brand to anyone.

Comprei o Vimble 3 SE que usa o mesmo aplicativo do Vimble 3, porém, achei o aplicativo horrivel. Ele só funciona video em 1080p 30fps, as fotos não ficam legais e qndo aperto para gravar em outras resoluções a imagem trava e dá erro, não permitindo a gravação.
Sem falar que a imagem transmitida pela camera do app fica travando, parece q to gravando a 10fps...não é fluido. Meu celular é um S23

How about with a Pixel 6 Pro that has those volume/on off buttons in the middle of the phone, very annoying for gimbal compatibility?
yeah this is an issue with most phones, not just the Pixel 6 Pro

How does this gimbal work with galaxy s22 ultra. I was going to get a a G6max but I want face tracking or some kind of tracking so it can move with me when u record my grandchildren

Hello Kelvin, it will depend on your needs, both are good, the OM4 SE has the magnetic clamp that I love, and it's a bit easier to use if you are a beginner. The Vimble 3 has more functions
Which one is lighter and smaller, Vimble 3 or Zhiyun Q4?
And which better to record ultra wide mode without capturing the gimbal motor/neck?

Hello Otto, i´m from brazil. I bought the Vimble 3 SE that uses the same application as the Vimble 3, however, I found the application horrible. It only works video at 1080p 30fps, the photos don't look nice and when I press to record in other resolutions the image freezes and gives an error, not allowing the recording.
Not to mention that the image transmitted by the app's camera keeps crashing, it seems that I'm recording at 10fps...it's not fluid. My phone is an S23
hey there! I was about to ask what phone you are using but S23 is a good phone! Have you tried to contact Feiyu about this? I guess by now you already deleted and re-installed the app.

Hi, great review. I'm searching for Android gimbal (OnePlus Nord 2 and Samsung S20 FE) where I can use start/stop record button with the camera native app. Does this gimbal have this feature? (I like Smooth Q4 for led mode indicator but start/stop button require Zhiyun app). Thanks
some of these gimbals will work and some will not, it will also depend on your phone. My S21 + can't start or stop recording with the button

did you get one already? I haven't tried the Smart X, Q4 is good if you want compact, Hohem is less compact but can handle more weight
seems like a nice gimbal. How would you rate the app to use this gimbal?
it is a bit different than what the competition has, but it is easy to use, not laggy, I don't like the some settings being on a different place like I said on the video, but it feels ok to use. I do believe they can work and improve the app a bit more

Hi Otto, totally love your video, I was wondering does Vimble 3 strong enough to hold Samsung S23 Ultra? I'm currently looking gimbal for my Samsung S23 Ultra and I've been watching all your videos, please please share your preference~ I've considered DJI OM 4SE & 5 but thanks to your video I know the program is not compatible and it has tilting limit. Your help is much much appreciated
this Vimble 3 also has some tilting limits, maybe not as much as the OM5. I don't have the ultra version of the Samsung phone, but I have tested the weight limits and it did fine. Have you considered the OM6 or the new insta360 Flow?
@@OttoJulian_ Hi Otto, in my place Vimble 3 is the cheapest in compare with OM5, OM6 and Insta360 flow. I was considering Insta but in the end I got Vimble 3 and it works quite well with my Samsung S23 Ultra. but yeah some angles are restricted and I'm still learning how to compesate the restrictions. Hi Otto, I just bought Vimble 3. But I found a problem when I tried to rotate the phone from landscape(horizontal) to portrait(vertical) by double tap M button. Every time I turn phone in to vertical and I operate the joystick, it is always error and stop working. Do you have any solution to solve this problem? Please share. Thanks

the tracking was about ok, DJI and insta360 have the best tracking nowadays, and the one I like the most is the one from hohem (tracking sensor that doesn't depend on the phone). I have reviews for all those gimbals

Totally trash: with such small gimbal mount bracket it is impossible to use a smartphone in a case. You have to take off the case every time.
interesting, I can use my Samsung Galaxy S21 plus with a Spigen brand case and there is still room for my finger (maybe your case is too big?)

Is bigger OM 4 or Vimble 3 when they are folded?
just about the same size, but OM4 slightly smaller
Too heavy and bulky just like the Vimble 2s that I have. I guess they haven't improved that. Worked fine with Samsung A52 but because Vimble 2s is too heavy for me, I'm not comfortable using it too long unless for table top use.
So far (Nov 2022), which gimbal do you think that has the lightest weight? Must fit for Android smartphone. I'm dreaming to get the latest DJI, but they "discriminate" Android users. Only certain Samsung S-series are compatible now.
The best lightweight gimbal has to be the Hohem iSteady X. Problem is that it’s a bit too small and some phones are not going to fit. Android limitations are also present with Hohem. I would recommend looking into the ZHIYUN Q4, but lately my go to gimbal has been the OM6 (OM5 is a bit lighter by the way and I was using that frequently as well )

Which prefer? FeiyuTech Vimble 3 or Hohem iSteady V2?
I like the V2 for the tracking sensor that it has but the body is the same as the X2, and bigger phones usually don’t do too well. Vimble 3 is more like the OM4 which I like, it feels like a full size gimbal that my hand can hold without any issues, but the app needs some work still in my opinion. Choosing one or the other will come down to your shooting style and preferences in terms of features
@@OttoJulian_ Both gimbals are at the same price right now, the vimble 3 in the future will also have a magnetic tracking module. I have a redmi note pro, I want a gimbal to record lifestyle clips for stock and somes clients (iam photographer). I am interested in a portable gimbal, very stable and with a good tracking system. Many recommend the V2, I was about to buy it but then I saw this one, it looks a little more "professional".I have a tight budget.. The only interesting thing and difference you see in the V2 is the tracking module? please help me Otto :) thanks!!

@@OttoJulian_ Hi Otto, Vimble 3 has arrived, I agree with you it feels solid and well made, very compact design also. Still did not come with a user manual, beyond basic set up instructions. Online is again basic videos only, FAQ answers some questions but as a beginner I require more comprehensive instructions. Your video has supplied some further information (thank you) but I feel like I am left in the dark as to the Vimble 3's full capabilities. Also the On app on my android shows different layout and menu to your video, more confusing. I contacted toe company and what they sent me was a copy of the basic set up? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Otto! How would you compare this vs the Zhiyun Smooth Q3? Looking for a compact gimbal for my iPhone 13 Pro, so far like you said the tilt range is limited on most smartphone gimbals. Is there one that stands out as having good range in your opinion?
this kind of structure/design on gimbals will limit a bit the tilt range if we compare them to the traditional style of bigger gimbals. So there are advantages and disadvantages. Anyway, the 2 gimbals that you mention are good, but the Vimble 3 will have a manual focus/ zoom wheel that the Q3 doesn't have, but the Q3 has a bit more going on with their app and the gimbal mode is clearly visible on the panel. The Q3 will also offer vortex mode, the Vimble 3 doesn't. I have a review on my channel about the Q3 (not sure if you watched that yet).... as there are a few other things to consider with the Q3 but I don't want to get this message way too long
@@OttoJulian_ Thanks so much for the info, Otto! I watched all of your videos on the Q3, they were some of the most helpful I’ve seen. I really like the easy mode buttons since I’ll mostly be shooting with the native camera, the tilt range, while still limited, seems better than some others and I think I can learn to work with it, and it’s still somewhat compact for casual use.
As a first time gimbal shopper it took lots of research (and two returned gimbals :) to understand that none are perfect and it really depends on how I plan to use it and what characteristics I care about the most. Thanks to your detailed reviews I ordered the Q3 yesterday and am excited to try it out!

I get the same question all the time, “which gimbal is the best “ and the answer goes along the lines of what you wrote: it always depends on the features that someone is looking for and their shooting style. The mode button on this Q3 plus the light indicator stating what mode you are using is a feature that I like a lot. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new gimbal. If you don’t mind me asking, which gimbals did you return before? Just curious
@@OttoJulian_ Not at all! The first was the DJI OM5. I knew nothing about gimbals and it was at the top of every "best gimbal" article I read and seemed like a no brainer. I had a very hard time using it - always needed to re-center the camera and when I used the extended selfie stick it started vibrating and crapped out on me.
I then got the Hohem iSteady V2. I loved its compactness and the AI sensor, but it really lacked tilt range and vertical shooting was near impossible (motor arm shows in shot, motors got angry with any kind of maneuver). I often shoot casual videos of our dog and our travels for IG Stories, so vertical shooting, tilt range and compactness were important to me.
So, it's been a journey lol, but I got the Q3 today and am so far very happy with it! I'll need a lot of practice with it, but I can tell it's going to work for my needs. Guess 3rd time was the charm! :)
@@shanchu07 How do you like the Q3 now after 4 months? I had one and loved it. But after 2 months it started acting up. It had to be calibrated and the app did not have that feature!
