I think this is huge opportunity for Germany as a lot of highly skilled labor is entering the employment market again. This is very needed as there is a shortage for these skilled workers. BYD's taxis have been successfully operated in Shenzhen for more than ten years.
@@BahDuest And BMWs and Audis don't have a short lifespan? All modern cars are designed for a 4-6 year leasing plan.
Cheap gas not flowing from Russia starts to show its face
Who remembers the German cameras, radios and televisions? No topic anymore. So will be German cars in a few years to come.
Low quality, extreme high prices and to much focus on EVs and not what customers want or need
People choose quantity over quality. We only see the high prices but don’t see the quality. I own Honda but if I compare with Volkswagen which I used to own 2 years ago then paint quality, drive quality is not near.
Anyways..it’s a long and never ending discussion.
Iconic era is over
It's fine Ukraine will uplift them back
Demand for EVs is low : high cost, high depreciation, low range, not environmentally friendly, and high energy costs in Europe threaten all auto manufacturers !
High insurance
This sums it all up…
German brands have been expensive, unreliable junk for awhile. “German engineering” is a joke. My buddy auto repair shop always full of them.
Germany always make good cars. However, very expensive to buy and maintain due to over complication in the name of efficiency/technology thus sacrificing reliability and ownership experience. A premium product that only last 3-5 years
@ and how is all that “good?” Or by good do you mean bad?
The profit of repairing German cars is higher than that of selling German cars, although German cars are already expensive.
@@mikemccormick8115 : good if you want the latest and greatest and can afford to dispose it every 3-5 years. Else bad, if you buy used just for the brand sake. Other than the power & handling which comes at a cost, the quality and build aren't any different than a popular mainstream car.
German cars are overcapacity.😂😂😂
The whole world is going through a reform.
People are looking for cheap cars not caring about extra bells and whistles. The suply is not there. Not sure what is target market for them, but most people can not afford those cars especially when cheaper alternatives are available.
98 inch tv's were super extra couple years ago and they have became 12 times cheaper for last years. Cars are not becoming cheaper but ever more expensive. Supply and demand. Economics. 7th grade. Easy.
This is what happens when one bolsters with Washington.
Progressive Bidenomics in particular.
The car buyers are uncertain, as the highly praised electric ones don't hold what is promised, and the future of combustion vehicles is doubtful concerning restrictive regulations. So it is better to keep the good old car a few years longer than normal.
Turn the printers off and watch the prices fall. It’s not rocket science.
Im in Germany, Germans need everyone in Germany to work for them.
Robert Habeck ruined German Auto Industry
🤫lol.. The party is still winning. All there nuclear power plants are closed. They will always be second in power.😢
VW is smart. Workers dont realize that they are dispensible.
Boeing is much better!
And vw is to... 😅
No normal people needs EVs, the problem is not bad german EVs, but the high energy prices thanks to the EU.
I wonder how much is this bcoz of Russian Ban
Partially. Germany forced to buy much more expensive gas from the U.S. when its Nordstream pipelines were sabotaged by the CIA.
Thanks ro Joe
Tariffs coming in hot
Self inflicted wounds😢
EV platforms have eliminated the engineering advantage these brands had. Even cheap EV’s are quiet and accelerate quickly so it’s just packaging. They are disposable commodities like smart phones do you think you will see a classic EV?
My older brother bought a new Audi sedan in 2015. This year at 108,000 miles his transmission failed and had to be replaced. Now he has to add oil every weak. My Honda CRV has 135,000 miles with zero problems and doesn't burn a drop of oil. I think this comparison sums it up pretty darn good.
I drive 2014 VW wagon with the bulletproof non-turbo i5 and 5-speed manual. It was affordable, remains reliable, fun to drive and has very little tech. That was the height of pre-nonsense VW.
This is karma. German automakers were just deceiving public opinion by using political excuses to cover up their poor diesel and EV technologies.
I won’t waste my money on Germans
A car is a something that gets you from point A to point B. You don't impress anyone nowadays with a car. So many things to spend your money on.
Had 2 VW Passats unreliable and cost a fortune to service (electronic handbrake...aaarrrgghhh!!), now I have inherited a Grundig dishwasher with my new house - what a load of rubbish, back to the Hitachi asap!
Overpriced vehicles, with tech most people don’t need and few want. There’s a serious disjunction between what the manufacturers want to produce, and what customers actually want.
Germany went from cheap gas to expensive gas.😂
The quality has dramatically gone down in the last 15 years
These cars are very unreliable and most people can't afford there up keep
I worked for Volkswagen and what I saw was appalling quality
And the company was difficult to work for
People are finally tired of buying disposable vehicles
Nope, to the final question!
Probably because these vehicles are expensive to service, unreliable and a money pit!!
Germany, look over your shoulder at England! Coventry used to be The Detroit' of England manufacturing a large range of cars both for the everyday person and those seeking luxury. Now? Nothing, nothing!!!
Good. Substandard vehicles.
No more cheap Russian gas . No access to the Russian market
turns out making low quality cars while increasing prices a lot is not the best long term strategy.
It was Russia the engine that move europa.no Germany
I think this is huge opportunity for Germany as a lot of highly skilled labor is entering the employment market again. This is very needed as there is a shortage for these skilled workers. It’s a structural change Germany has to go through anyways. No one needs cars with combustion engines soon. better they do these changes sooner than later. I just hope they give the layed off people support in reentering the employment market.
So much for German efficiency 😂😂😂. Which is actually a joke and don't get me start on the efficiency of Sban 😂
Plastic components? My 1980s BMW was a fantastic piece of engineering. Well made, and built like a tank.
it's the whole auto industry...overpriced and less reliable !!!
Its good that people might move to a reliable product!!
This is like the Quartz watch crisis in the 70s where it nearly collapsed the Swiss mechanical watch industry. Eventually everyone will have it's share 😊
Not my area anymore, but why has Daimler not bought Lucid yet ???
Ach, dafür haben wir 17 Statistikämter voll mit Beamten. Das wird uns retten. Die sind total wertvoll.
The only solution to such problems is to change the montary policy with real money, no credit financing, no taxes and the introduction of universal income.
They have never been concentrated or considered how to improve innovation but to destroy Russia
Overpriced !
They should lower thier prices for German cars.. otherwise the same fate that Sony took will follow suit. Sony is no longer as big as it once was due to thier high price, and lack of market innovation
Impossible! There still people who looks for quality not easy produced vehicles that last only in a short period of time…Untrusty!
Low demand for combustion vehicles is mentioned at 3:50. I thought that the demand for EVs was crashing. Any low demand for combustion vehicles is the result of huge increases in prices.
Now is USA people are going to buy south Koreans cars and japanese cars.
American cars too, but if you see diverse places, there are a lot of Japanese and South Korean cars.
People don't have a lot of money. If you don't make cheap and efficient cars , public won't buy it. Simple as that.
But German cars are not for poor people... it's just not their market.
Where is the info from bmw and mercedes? It's vw that is struggling
Good. Cars were expensive crap , sold to the pretentious.
I purchased a 2019 VW Atlas V6 AWD, and it was terrible...it drove like a couch and did not have enough power...The dealer repurchased it during COVID......Saw gas prices tick up and opted for a 2021 VW Jetta....a great car but dealership experience was abmisal....I needed new rear brakes at 27k miles for only the rear brakes, not including the rotors, and the dealer wanted $1200 USD for pads only....GTFOH with that.... I traded the vehicle in for a 24 Nissan Titan....so far Nissan has been solid and I love the truck....
VW thinks they are a luxury brand, and they are not...the dealerships are run down and so far, their service advisors are idiots
The European big Industrial Structure will not loose, but something else will happen.
What undermined the German car industry? The management boards of automotive companies commission their engineers to design cars that only need to be repaired, not driven, and as it turned out, customers would rather drive than repair, and that would be it.
Just mismanagement, they focused their complete sales, design strategy on China....worked for a few years.
Would selling the Xinjiang plant make even less sense to sell a low cost factory to China and also lose the market.

What? Dead Uighurs have been building these cars? Nice! Yes, maybe China will take over low-costs over _that_ country Xinjiang.
Blame the EV's
