John identified homosexuality as a sin--along with numerous others like adultery, lying, etc.--that separate humans from God. Christians should not expect non-Christians to follow Biblical teachings, since they don't proclaim to be followers of Christ (much like non-Muslims shouldn'tbe expected to follow the teachings of the Quran). Excellent message Pastor Lovell! I plan to watch this several times, because this is a subject I have been struggling with. I have a number of gay friends in a large social circle that I am a part of. There are some trans people too. I always want to be loving and kind to everybody. Your words will help me to know what to say when/if the time comes for conversation on this topic. Their sin is no worse than any other sin. We are all sinners. We all need to repent of our sins, whatever those sins might be. The main thing is for people to come to know Jesus!

Great sermon. 100% I would add this. Jesus helped people out of their sin, to overcome it. People have to say IT IS POSSIBLE, because it is. He is right we shouldn’t hate the gay people. But we are supposed to be little Christs a light in the darkness and shine the light to show them and direct them to the light who is Jesus and He can fix them and save them. I have struggled with Christianity. I try to live best by it. I have a hard time actually believing in god. I believe it is the best way to live under the morality of God. I was born to two alcoholics and both of their parents and grandparents were alcoholics. At 10 years old at my dad's 2nd wedding I was in a peach tux on the bar serving and drinking screwdrivers (vodka and orange juice). I struggled hard with drinking, but due to the grace of God have been sober for 12 years. I know what you mean about being predisposed. I thought it was normal to have a beer in your hand whenever you were driving your car, boat, or operating power tools and guns until I became an adult and saw how other people lived and realized how insane my family was. My mom married an atheist, and was unequally yoked and he teased us about church, hated God and always lived in fear and worried about everything. It was an abusive childhood. I no longer speak to those original worldly parents.
God gives us redemption and can turn anything the devil intends for evil, good. Thank God he saved us who choose him. Praying that you're able to help others who are in a similar situation to yours and help change the trajectory of their lives for God's glory. 🙏 bless you ❤

I have struggled with Christianity. I try to live best by it. I have a hard time actually believing in god. I believe it is the best way to live under the morality of God. Still I feel my head won’t let me believe it. In that regard, I have a hard time judging anyone. I just want to be the best person I can be. Maybe that will change one day.

Pastor, how would you respond to people with the following understanding of Roman 1.
Verse 21 it says they knew God and didn’t believe on him. It says multiple times that God gave them up. Verse 26 says for this cause, being the fact that he rejected him that it gave them over to the reprobate mind(verse 28). So because they have decide to reject the Gospel enough times that he removed the filter off of their brain to do vile things. Like pedo, beast, homo things. It sounds like God has given up on them, since those sins are unnatural to 99% of people.

I was born to two alcoholics and both of their parents and grandparents were alcoholics. At 10 years old at my dad's 2nd wedding I was in a peach tux on the bar serving and drinking screwdrivers (vodka and orange juice). I struggled hard with drinking, but due to the grace of God have been sober for 12 years. I know what you mean about being predisposed. I thought it was normal to have a beer in your hand whenever you were driving your car, boat, or operating power tools and guns until I became an adult and saw how other people lived and realized how insane my family was. My mom married an atheist, and was unequally yoked and he teased us about church, hated God and always lived in fear and worried about everything. It was an abusive childhood. I no longer speak to those original worldly parents.
God gives us redemption and can turn anything the devil intends for evil, good. Thank God he saved us who choose him. Praying that you're able to help others who are in a similar situation to yours and help change the trajectory of their lives for God's glory. 🙏 bless you ❤
