  • Adam wants to get his Covid vaccine - but an extreme fear of needles is holding him back.
The 23-year-old says it's not the pain he's afraid of, but the thought of the injection itself - and the needle piercing his skin.
"It feels like you have no way out, you can't do anything, your heart rate's pushing 200, you can't focus on anything… it’s about a pathological fear of needles."
A recent Oxford University survey of more than 15,000 adults in the UK suggests needle phobia accounts for about 10% of Covid vaccine hesitancy.
The survey also suggests reluctance to get the Covid jab is generally a bit higher in younger people and some ethnic minority groups.

let me just say one thing, needle phobia IS a real phobia and it DOES exist. Anyone that says to "suck it up" and "get over it" even if they are in the medical field, number 1. does not belong in the medical field, number 2. should find a job working in another career, number 3. lacks empathy

22 years old and I have a severe fear of needles. I've been to have my vaccine done twice now and had the biggest panic attack before they even got the needle out and couldn't go through with it. It hurts me when people don't take it seriously and people just tell me "it doesn't even hurt" or "just get on with it" that doesn't help me in the slightest. The pressure to get this vaccine has been giving me 24/7 stress and I want it so bad but can't seem to get it done. Great video to inform people that this exists! Sadly even the nurses and professionals don't understand the problem! I have the same issue and find it difficult to explain to people what it's like. But being in a room full of people getting vaccines, in a hospital setting, needles and the smell of disinfectant does not help at all. He should be in a cubicle where there are not visual stimuli and the nurse should get the job done quickly without talking for 20 minutes. Then he should be allowed to leave the triggering setting to relax and recover outside. Also wearing headphones and listening to a podcast or music is a great way to remain relaxed. This only works if the nurse does not insist on taking the headphones off to tell him something he doesn't care about.

Here is what I found as to why they are using these numbers and dates when orchestrating the Terror Attacks: the most obvious is the use of 22 22 22 22 22 22 22. All 6 dates have duplicates of 2…that’s impossible to be a coincidence! 1st let’s clear up the use of the number 33. This number is widely used in freemasonry because it simbolize the 33 degree parallel. If you look on a geographical map you will find that it falls into the land of Israel. One city precisely at 33 degrees north is Naharriya in Israel... What state is located at 33 N latitude and 112 W longitude? 142 Views. Some people say that is the location from where the anti Christ will start his campaign…until he gets his ass kicked.
Everything leads to Israel. Surprise surprise! Low level Freemasons spread misinformation about the date Jesus died and the 33 degree freemasonry however everything leads back to Israel.
What about the number 322 in Jewish Gematria and Freemasonry?
322 relates to Skull and Bones
322 is the Masonic Capital of Edinburgh. And Yale satanic society logo bears the number 322.
The longitude of Edinburgh Capital city of Freemasonry is 3.22 degrees.
322 Skull and Bones links Masonic Edingburgh to Solomon Lodge.
What about 22, the second Master number? As this is double of 11 it maybe a doubling down in chaos or entropy. The numerology in the Bible points to this too.
This number is widely used in the Bible adding to the entropy required to bring God’s plan to fruition.
The number 11 is the first Master number as well as the first reduceable number.
Either way one looks at it they both break down to the Master number 11 - 9+ 2= 11.
This number is also associated with illumination and enlightenment.
      The number 7 77 & 777
The number 7 is said to be a “perfect” number because it contained the numbers three and four. In geometry, the basis of freemasonry, -
The numbers 7, 77 & 777 and the coming "Order Out of Chaos"
777 in Jewish Gematria, is an important motto for the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry (Ordo Ab Chao)

I dislile needles, not as much as this guy but I always have an irrational fear. Before the first dose I thought about it for a week and a half and prepared myself, asking people and gathering data to convince myself that it won’t hurt. I went with my sister, she came first and it only took 2-3 seconds to have the injection. And then I realized that, if I contract the virus and if I develop major symptoms I may have to take much worse needles and it will ultimately be much more painful. The lungs, the fever. I didn’t think much more. You don’t really feel the needle. It only takes 2-3 seconds, you only need to endure that period. When the infirmary told me to take a deep breath I couldn’t take it fast enough. The vaccination is a really really quick process. Today I took the second dose and frankly whatever the short time side effects are, they are way better than viral symptoms.
I don’t know who needed this but it is not that bad. You can’t really compare the vaccine to anything since you don’t really feel it. And most common side effect is sore arm which is something I would take anyday over covid.

The first thing we learned is that my heart races and then stops completely. Epinephrine restarts it. A pacemaker was implanted to prevent rapid rate drops and asystole. However, we then found that I have both features of the syndrome. Not only does my heart stop, but the blood vessels in my legs dilate - causing my blood pressure to crash. (The electrophysiologists likens the pacemaker in this situation to a hand push on a string.)
The fall in blood pressure has caused liver failure and days on a ventilator with multiple medicines to support my blood pressure until I start doing it myself.
Episodes started to happen when needles were not involved. I now always wear a patch of scopolamine, which controls blood pressure and heart rate drops.
Now - if I need tests, shots, etc., it's done in an OR. An anesthesiologist puts me under with gas, slips in an IV, gives me some propofol, and off they go. For the time being, we have decided that it is too costly and risky to do this solely for a COVID vaccine. (I had a moderate case of COVID in November). However, my doctor, our insurer, and I are currently reassessing this.

David, thank you so much for posting. The recognition of functional neurocardiovascular disorders is really just in its infancy and we need those who suffer to speak up. Are you in the U.S.? I ask because finding a doctor who is able to deal (or even believe) in these disorders is not easy and many people have no choice but to not attempt to get any medical care at all. I am so glad you were able to find help.

@@valerieevanier9632 Hi Valerie, I was diagnosed in the UK, but now live in the US and am followed at the Cleveland Clinic and the Mayo Clinic. In the past Massachusetts General was good too, but the doctor who looked after me switched to a concierge medical practice. I haven't had a doctor yet whose skepticism doesn't fall away when they see the flatlined EKG from the tilt table test and clinical notes from ICU stays caused by the phobia being triggered.
It was misdiagnosed in me as 'stress-induced epilepsy' for almost 40 years. Time and time again I would pass out and seize following a needle stick. I lost count of how many nurses and lab techs called codes because my heart had stopped only to have me recover spontaneously just as the calvary arrived and they were told they had freaked out.
The key was when the episodes started happening outside the context of needle phobia - once in an airplane that changed position sharply and once when I got my pulse rate too high at a gym. That was when an almost 90-year-old neurologist who was retiring in three days saw me, called a cardiologist, and ordered the tilt table test. As an extra bonus, I coded before the test when they started an IV, but, in the confusion, nobody recorded the EKG so they proceeded with the test.
      Best of luck!

Okay so I just wanted to share my experience with my first covid dose.Im still young and went to my vaccination camp today. So I'll give some tips because mine went successfully and I fear needles(I start to cry)
    1) Just distract yourself. You may have heard about this many many times but throughout the way,I was looking around and thinking about a project of mine and just making up things in my head and encouraged myself by giving a self talk.
    2) Just pretend that you don't fear it: I did this today and it was impressive how much it helped me,I thought that I am not scared of the needles and told myself that I would keep the crying part to my future self in the room where I'll get vaccinated
    3) Just smile: It may not make sense, but noone will be able to see it.Instead of worrying about something that will only become worse, just smile, even if it's fake.
4)Eat before you go and try to stop yourself from thinking.I like to think in this way,
If I have a vaccination appointment tomorrow,I have a day's time.I could either worry about it the whole day and suck the life out of it and let the day become worse when you need to go.or you can stop your mind from thinking about your appointment, just forget it exists and then enjoy the day.Let the worry come towards the next day.
So overall, just fill your mind with positive thoughts that may not be relevant and have someone with you to hold your hand.To be honest,i only felt the needle and not even the slightest pain.So don't overthink about it,love.Just go for it.I still am laughing at how tensed I was before my vaccination and now it's all cool.
Hope I helped in any way,I am proud of you for taking the decision of getting yourself vaccinated! Take action and defeat your fear love! Trust me when I say it's not even 2 sec before it's done and you won't even feel it
(Feel free if you have any questions regarding anything,I won't mind one bit) have a happy time!

I am still in school and in February we are getting two needles at once and I am terrified. In the summer we had one needle and it took two nurses to get it done with and I know it didn't hurt at all, I even laughed in the end. Everyone says just close your eyes, but it's not like that at all. Knowing that I am going to be poked in the arm and a needle will go through my skin is just so frightening and I had a fully blown panic attack. I am trying to make myself not scared and actually excited to do it and I told myself that I will put numbing cream on my arm just to feel more secure. I know it is in 2 months but it is hard to stop thinking about it. It also helped me to do it when there were less people around so I might ask the nurse to do that this time as well.

My analogy for Anxiety: Imagine two caveman sat around the fire, one of the caveman hears rustling in the bushes and starts freaking out, he runs away. The other caveman shrugs and thinks it's just the wind. All of a sudden a tiger jumps out and mauls the overconfident caveman. The caveman that ran away has kids. The mauled caveman doesn't.
I think everyone experiences anxiety and it's an evolutionary advantage to have it, I've always thought of anxiety as a protective mechanism for social and physical activites.
it's just dependant on the type on anxiety you might experience, imposter syndrome is probably the worst but even that in a way serves a survival function. The only problem is we aren't cavemen anymore and there are no tigers. 🐅

People with anxiety disorder are constantly being reminded of paranoia and anxiousness, not because of themselves but because of the imbalance. It is then up to them to work on that, and learn to control it, but it never goes away. I have gotten decent at that part but I promise you even with medication, lots of therapy, practice, you still have the thoughts pop up and you have to learn. Ive met many people like you who have never had to deal with this kind of anxiety, so you just assume everyone else must be crazy. I was needle phobic for over 15y due of my childhood trauma in hospital. I was afraid getting blood tests, IVs or vaccinations. And because of that I ignored mandatory medical procedures. But now I am basically free from needle phobia (I am still bit scared, ca 10%)
    VACCINATIONS/GETTING SHOTS: Pain level 2/10
For those who are afraid getting shot I want to encourage you. Nowdays needles are so thin sharp that your body aint gonna feel almost nothing. When I got the covid vaccines, during the injection I felt like someone was holding a pencil point on my arm and I didn't feel the needle go in or the sting. I asked the nurse when you're going to prick me, and she said it's already done. The only thing that hurts is the pain after the injection, but it depends on the vaccine
    BLOOD TEST: Pain level 4,5/10
For those who are afraid getting blood test, I want to encourage you. If you are so afraid then 1)dont look 2)distract yourself (pinch yourself on the lip and focus on that) 3)relax your arms (stiff arm makes blood test more painful). The needle was so sharp that I didn't feel anything, but the sting stung because the hand was cleaned with an alcohol cloth beforehand. And when the nurse collected blood, the stinging disappeared. What made it unpleasant was that I felt that the needle was in the vein, but it is not painful, rather unpleasant. But the time passed quickly and the hand did not hurt after that.
Thanks to sharp needles and professional medical personel my fear of needles dissapeared last year. Before I end my speech I want to share quote which is 100% true
FEAR COMES ALWAYS BEFORE OR AFTER THE SITUATION. DURING THE MOMENT THE FEAR DISSAPEARS

All I have to say is if you are going for an injection or blood draw with needle phobia and are not being medicated, you are going to have an extremely difficult if not impossible time getting the injection. It terrifies me. I luckily am not a fainter. But I used to go with no anxiety medication, then I’d gotten prescribed clonazepam, then xanax… that simply isn’t enough. You need Ativan or Valium. Think about people who get lasik eye surgery, they are given Valium. It makes you not care. People with needle phobia need the appropriate anti anxiety medicine like Valium or Ativan. That’s what I was finally prescribed. It’s like the terror melts away, and I walk into my appointment as if I’m doing something mundane. Once I sit in the chair it’s like the terror wants to come out but it doesn’t. I’m only aware of the injection but my body isn’t in panic/escape/terror mode. I’m not over my needle phobia but the right medication allows me to get those necessary and life saving injections and blood draws. I just had a blood draw recently. Another factor in success is finding someone who is gentle. I didn’t realize that for my 3-4 past blood draws the woman I always got made my blood draw hurt. Saw someone new for my most recent blood draw and it was nothing like the prior person who did it! Much less uncomfortable and not painful, and was seamless. But again that is thanks to the proper anxiety medication, but having the right person and support helps so much. I had major anxiety the night before because of all those uncomfortable blood draws from someone who was rough- not sure why they hurt from that person. So you also have to find someone whose good at it. If you have a good experience take their name and try to get them for future injections.
