For two most of the crimes they do prosecute are nonsense crimes, US prisons are stuffed to bursting with minor possession charges and they could easily clear their schedule by refusing to place charges. For three I don't see how this is any different from sticking up a liquor store; it's theft no matter how you look at it and personally I think the difference in treatment largely comes down to the perception of what colour skin the people who commit those crimes have.

@trimmings43stock limitations are a matter of overall logistical capacity including manufacturing and profitability is a matter of costs. b0xxes are sold at a profitable price when considering the whole chain and would have sold more if more could be manufactured with their processes, capacity, and overall liquidity. Frame 1s were sold at a loss and in addition to that Greg clearly overpromised on his manufacturing capacity which resulted in taking so long to fulfill orders. If he could have produced more he'd have to consider how far in the red he can go for spite before he has to hike prices.
By the time I got my Frame1 I had moved across the sea to a different continent and the finish was not as great as I'd like. There are splotches where the anodising was not applied properly and it's just the bare metal. I emailed them pointing out this issue and never received an email back

Im no law talkin' guy, and definitely not a US law talkin guy, and certainly not familiar with the state laws wherever this happened... but that sure does seem like a contract under duress (which the video mentions financial duress but that doesnt seem enough as it is straight up holding the company hostage). Not only that, selling something at a loss to harm another entity sure sounds anti-competitive.
It sounds like what happened is they invested into the company so they themselves owned part of the company, so they could not just fire him out issues. Thats the only way any of this makes since. Of course this video is barely cited so we cant check this for ourselves.

I bought the first round of frame 1's they had a lot of production issues (the casing not having a coating to protect the finish the usb-c connector not being soldered correctly just soldering issues in general) I talked to greg about it and he just wanted more money to fix the issues he shipped to MEE so yeah tldr I should've bought a B0xx but they were sold out at the time rip hax$

I knew a lot of this information because I actually saved the depositions greg disclose to the public, even though those where seal documents, the stuff he lied about, and the incompetence behind his work, I remember back in the day, how leffen was so eager to shit on the boxx, saying it was an unfair advantage, and I agree at the time, and still agree with the statement that the boxx was just too good, but I never agreed with leffen on banning the controller, simply that by design, any hitbox like controller, is inherently superior than any other type of controllers, anyone with a brain knows this, but they're all tournament legal for a reason, yet, despite all that, leffen game a monumental amount of praise to the frame1, I didn't know until today, that it was hax himself who gave leffen the information about the lawsuit, I suppose leffen and greg came to a non verbal agreement to fuck with hax, knowing leffen it was probably on a way he could simply shift blame to greg and not get involved. I'm actually surprise there was no mention of jisu, because she was also part of the pr team and actually reuse the samples for the boxx website to build the frame1 site, as if stealing hax's product wasn't enough, they had to make sure jisu of all people was involved for additional mental damage, every aspect of frame1 was copied, from the software, the build, exact same button layout, website, I remember back when greg first doxxed hax, I send a message to the now community safety resource project, to tell them to issue a ban for greg turbo for his criminal behaviour and doxxing of hax, I still have the receipt, september 18 2024, and I got the case closed a few hours later, saying they where aware of the issue, yet, still to this day, nothing has being done, and greg is still allowed to go to tournaments and sell his merch, the person who issue me this message and closed the case was emerae, I don't know who that is, but honestly, fuck this people.
Yea, hitbox's have always been designed with the idea with less input delay and perfect inputs for every fighting game ever made. But they are balanced by having players put in so much time and effort into making them work. Idk why Melee in particular has to grandstand and say that its unfair to use them because they can do things no other controller could do. THATS LITERALLY WHAT ITS DESIGNED TO DO! And macros and cheating arent even the designed point of it, they arent gonna be able to mod them mid tournament. If Melee is supposed to be the most technical fighting game ever made, then they should act like how every other FGC does and just runs the set no matter what controller they use.
@bl4nk4shane I completely disagree with everything you're saying, hitboxes, leverless controllers, are not designed with less input delay, they have the exact same input delay as any other controller, input delay is innate to games, like smash having a base 7 frame input delay, or dbfz 3 frame delay on console, you don't get a frame advantage by using a leverless controller, no, leverless controllers, like any other controller are design to behave the same way other controllers do, like, if you hold left and right, the actual input you're hitting isn't both, it's neutral, or equal to no direction, in melee is different sure, because the gamecube controllers are inherently bad, they do not actually hit the right inputs while something like the boxx actually do, I remember hax wanted to release a buff to controllers to make it more in line with boxx and other options, but either TO's or nintendo didn't like it so i'm not sure how that end up being. What I can tell you, is that leverless controllers are not design with precision, input delay, or any fantasy like that in mind, no, the reason hitboxes are superior as controllers, is because of one simple thing, speed, but that speed is because of how faster it is for our hands to hit the buttons to get a motion, that's the whole reason, that's why they're better, I should know, because I was and still am, one of, if not the best tvc uas player in the world, I had specific movements and combos that require speed, there is one combo, that requires insane speed, and is so hard I can probably end hurting my hands, but I can do that without putting so much pressure in my hands with a leverless, because of how fast I can hit the buttons because pressing 3 directions can be done almost instantly with simple piano input. Even though I believe hitboxes are the best controllers for any fighting game, that doesn't mean they should be banned, I still stand by that, because at the end of the day, speed is a inmense factor, but it doesn't determinate victory, if i'm frank, I don't know many people who can be as fast as me when it comes to hitting inputs, let alone faster than me, and even so, anyone has access to leverless controllers, so there's no reason to ever ban them, this is just the natural progression of games.

He's basically given his product away. That's what's given birth to the dozens of different digital controllers you see today. Prism etc.

Nintendo hates the melee scene for a pretty different reason. Nintendo did sponsor Ultimate tournaments even though they have had a LOT of SA (which, btw Melee has had no major cases of).

I am not saying that Ult causes SA or that Melee causes all the various drama but to say "Nintendo hates smash because of drama" is ridiculous. Leffen literally all but left the community at the beginning of the controversy. And no one hated Hax. People didn't know what to do with him, Hax kep doubling down over and over again, threats of ban did not stop him unbaning Hax did not stop him. The situation is about someone who had severe mental health problems. Not same deep state shadow goverment conspiracy.

For two most of the crimes they do prosecute are nonsense crimes, US prisons are stuffed to bursting with minor possession charges and they could easily clear their schedule by refusing to place charges. For three I don't see how this is any different from sticking up a liquor store; it's theft no matter how you look at it and personally I think the difference in treatment largely comes down to the perception of what colour skin the people who commit those crimes have.

@trimmings43stock limitations are a matter of overall logistical capacity including manufacturing and profitability is a matter of costs. b0xxes are sold at a profitable price when considering the whole chain and would have sold more if more could be manufactured with their processes, capacity, and overall liquidity.
Frame 1s were sold at a loss and in addition to that Greg clearly overpromised on his manufacturing capacity which resulted in taking so long to fulfill orders. If he could have produced more he'd have to consider how far in the red he can go for spite before he has to hike prices.
By the time I got my Frame1 I had moved across the sea to a different continent and the finish was not as great as I'd like. There are splotches where the anodising was not applied properly and it's just the bare metal. I emailed them pointing out this issue and never received an email back

I knew a lot of this information because I actually saved the depositions greg disclose to the public, even though those where seal documents, the stuff he lied about, and the incompetence behind his work, I remember back in the day, how leffen was so eager to shit on the boxx, saying it was an unfair advantage, and I agree at the time, and still agree with the statement that the boxx was just too good, but I never agreed with leffen on banning the controller, simply that by design, any hitbox like controller, is inherently superior than any other type of controllers, anyone with a brain knows this, but they're all tournament legal for a reason, yet, despite all that, leffen game a monumental amount of praise to the frame1, I didn't know until today, that it was hax himself who gave leffen the information about the lawsuit, I suppose leffen and greg came to a non verbal agreement to fuck with hax, knowing leffen it was probably on a way he could simply shift blame to greg and not get involved.
I'm actually surprise there was no mention of jisu, because she was also part of the pr team and actually reuse the samples for the boxx website to build the frame1 site, as if stealing hax's product wasn't enough, they had to make sure jisu of all people was involved for additional mental damage, every aspect of frame1 was copied, from the software, the build, exact same button layout, website, I remember back when greg first doxxed hax, I send a message to the now community safety resource project, to tell them to issue a ban for greg turbo for his criminal behaviour and doxxing of hax, I still have the receipt, september 18 2024, and I got the case closed a few hours later, saying they where aware of the issue, yet, still to this day, nothing has being done, and greg is still allowed to go to tournaments and sell his merch, the person who issue me this message and closed the case was emerae, I don't know who that is, but honestly, fuck this people.
Yea, hitbox's have always been designed with the idea with less input delay and perfect inputs for every fighting game ever made. But they are balanced by having players put in so much time and effort into making them work. Idk why Melee in particular has to grandstand and say that its unfair to use them because they can do things no other controller could do. THATS LITERALLY WHAT ITS DESIGNED TO DO! And macros and cheating arent even the designed point of it, they arent gonna be able to mod them mid tournament. If Melee is supposed to be the most technical fighting game ever made, then they should act like how every other FGC does and just runs the set no matter what controller they use.
@bl4nk4shane I completely disagree with everything you're saying, hitboxes, leverless controllers, are not designed with less input delay, they have the exact same input delay as any other controller, input delay is innate to games, like smash having a base 7 frame input delay, or dbfz 3 frame delay on console, you don't get a frame advantage by using a leverless controller, no, leverless controllers, like any other controller are design to behave the same way other controllers do, like, if you hold left and right, the actual input you're hitting isn't both, it's neutral, or equal to no direction, in melee is different sure, because the gamecube controllers are inherently bad, they do not actually hit the right inputs while something like the boxx actually do, I remember hax wanted to release a buff to controllers to make it more in line with boxx and other options, but either TO's or nintendo didn't like it so i'm not sure how that end up being.
What I can tell you, is that leverless controllers are not design with precision, input delay, or any fantasy like that in mind, no, the reason hitboxes are superior as controllers, is because of one simple thing, speed, but that speed is because of how faster it is for our hands to hit the buttons to get a motion, that's the whole reason, that's why they're better, I should know, because I was and still am, one of, if not the best tvc uas player in the world, I had specific movements and combos that require speed, there is one combo, that requires insane speed, and is so hard I can probably end hurting my hands, but I can do that without putting so much pressure in my hands with a leverless, because of how fast I can hit the buttons because pressing 3 directions can be done almost instantly with simple piano input.
Even though I believe hitboxes are the best controllers for any fighting game, that doesn't mean they should be banned, I still stand by that, because at the end of the day, speed is a inmense factor, but it doesn't determinate victory, if i'm frank, I don't know many people who can be as fast as me when it comes to hitting inputs, let alone faster than me, and even so, anyone has access to leverless controllers, so there's no reason to ever ban them, this is just the natural progression of games.
