- A chronological timeline of Larry David and Richard Lewis's friendship encapsulated in their banter and arguments from Curb Your Enthusiasm. Seasons 1-11.
** I did have to trim 3 clips totaling 7 minutes from the compilation in order to prevent the entire video from being blocked. One from S1E4, one from S3E2, and one from S8E2.

RIP Richard Lewis 🙏
Lewis you were so funny RIP my friend
"You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone"
Oh, these two! Richard. Love you.
Genius
😭
RIP Richard Lewis. Your wit, dry humor and comedic genius made you an absolute legend in not only curb, but all of the many features you appeared in over your long and successful career. LD may have won the bet, but you'll forever live on in the hearts of many. Rest Easy, King
Two of the high points of my life were seeing Richard Lewis AND Gilbert Gottfried perform. Now that they're both gone, I'm even happier I got a chance to see them
I wish I had come across this the week he passed away. A Babbling Brook of b u l l s h i t. A beautiful tribute.
'You better call me later on... by sundown.'
'By sundown?! What are you, Gary Cooper?'
COMEDY GOLD
Ad lib
"That's funny...I'm trying not to laugh, but it's funny."
@@RandoLePerson
Not entirely
That may be my favorite scene in the whole reel. Rolling on the floor laughing at those ad libs
Larry David pays tribute to his late friend and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" co-star Richard Lewis.
“Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me. He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him."
One of the most beautiful comments I have ever seen.
So beautiful 😢
🙏💗
The most realistic friendship conveyed on television
Real Best Friends on TV . Period
The BEST!
I'm going to go to Ben Laddins today for some 'Shirts'.... I hear they have great colors.
The writing is absolutely incredible and entertaining as heck!! 😂
I wish it was but this kind of friendship is actually very rare. If you think you’re in one then you’re very lucky.
look at you, norman vincent louise over here
I love it when they laugh at each others absurd responses while they improvize.
"I only listen to talk radio".
What are you a ……?
Where’d you get that dress the substitute teacher designer warehouse?
It's the most absurd marketing people believe. Improv does not mean they literal just say what comes to mind. It means in curb that plot and overall situation are scripted but dialog is left to the actors. They do preplan and have their lines ready to go and then it's reshot until it meshes.
@@listrahtes hence improvize.
There are so many great running jokes in the show. But this compilation highlights the trope of Lewis always thinking he’s in love and that she’s the one. Brilliant!
And Larry always being the one to ruin it for him
Lmao watching this video, I never realized it before but after watching, it's hilarious
Even with his dead parakeet lol
@@louisbrennan1012g CT😢t
it’s also a carryover from his standup
I love when in the middle of an argument they go off on a tangent and the conversation tone completely changes.
is that sweater 100% cashmere?
Lewis has some of the best moments in the entire show
Lol they have grown together thru out the show, and their relationship had never changed no matter how many times they have fought and screwed each other over 🤣
@@billblaski9523 Larry last season with the “when are you gunna die” sums up their relationship perfectly🤣
@@lilbun444That line takes on new poignancy now…
For me, Larry was the brains but Richard was the heart of the show.
Larry & Richard together are stellar. I love the meaningless conversation veering off to arguments & disgust with one another. I can't stop laughing.
They're so funny together.
thats a good sum up
It's so close to home for me or anyone who has that one childhood friend you just can't give up hope he'll come around to reality, might become a better person, and so on.... have all that history It's just a shame to toss it aside.... come to think of it, HEY ART, GO F YOURSELF, IT AIN'T WORTH IT.
And then the next day they’re best friends. Real friendship
The car dealership is pure genius. Larry physically assaulting a friend because he screwed up a sale despite the fact that he has no need for money is comedy genius as it applies to pettiness
When you have enough money you have to give up your dream of being a car salesman? It’s more like Larry continues to be misunderstood even by (especially by) his close friends
@@rogerpattube - I saw that as his friends totally understanding him, and therefore wondering about his sanity.
It is a thick wheel base?
That's not why he assaulted him, it was because he wanted to see the tag
When Lewis says “I’m older than you” at 1:07:29, I had to Google their ages just to see…Richard Lewis is 3 days older than Larry David.
Born in the same hospital aswell.
Yes
I don’t live in a Cuban dancehall! I live in my own home and it doesn’t take toucans!
That makes his comment even funnier
1:19:40 "what are you a fucking goose" 😭😭😭
My favorite line of all time.. LOL
absolutely kills me that line
😂😂😂😂
First line I thought of when I heard Richard Lewis passed
One of my favorite comedic pairings in any medium. Any time I watch Curb and Lewis comes on screen it immediately brings a smile to my face
I love that you refer to Larry David as "Curb" :D
@@gforce9596he didn’t refer to Larry as Curb haha he said anytime he’s watching the show and Lewis comes on …
@@victoranthony9037 oh haha I see: I'd misread his comment as "Everytime I watch Curb and Lewis on screen..."
Every time Lewis comes on the screen I yell Riachrddd and can’t stop smiling I just know it’s always going to get even funnier
Larry and Richard bright out the best in each other comedically.
"you've taken everything the wrong way since I've known you" hahaha
Can you timestamp this please? Lol
14:49
Brilliance distilled. I could watch this forever. One of the delights is seeing them crack each other up if you catch those moments .
Richard turned personal struggles into comedy genius in a unique way. I hope his friends and family find solace in his good.
May he rest in peace.🩵🩵
“Let’s get under the covers and sob!” 😂😂😂
Its hard to act angry , while they actually love to see each other
Funny part is they didn’t start off as friends when they first met.
“It’s been 6 weeks and we’ve already had intercourse.”
Watch LD laugh as RL says that line: brilliant delivery.
Love watching these two go at it.
gets me every time 🤣🤣
Their banter is TOTALLY EPIC
RIP to a legend. Take care, honey
No longer premature. Alas, too late.
The early seasons were absolute GOLD. This is so timeless.
Yup, the new ones are fun but the old seasons are on another level. Different tone, more like a documentary.
Pound for pound, this is one of the greatest videos on RUclips. Value for money-wise I mean. It's 96 minutes of pure entertainment from start to finish, every single moment worth watching. If that ain't worth a sympathy sub, I don't know what is.
💯
Both the video and your comment are pure entertainment 😂
The video, the comment, and the comment on the comment are all worth the price of admission
@@stquatro 😂😂😂
I can't believe all this dialogue is improvised. The banters back and forth fit perfectly 😂
Richard Lewis is the embodiment of anxiety and depression 😂
I love him
So you mean the typical Jew then?
@@1who4metypical human, more like
I love him too.🩵🩵
@@1who4me, I guess there is no typical Jew. I am a Jew, and I grew up in the South & have no sense of humor. ☺️
“What is this, Roots? Whaddaya mean auctioned off?”
Richard had some great historical references, many of which I didn’t catch till I became older and wiser, but this is the all time best one
His 70s references always crack LD up.
An hour and a half of arguments 😂. RIP Richard Lewis.
"I didn't mean blind, I meant sightless" 💀
How could you say ‘blind man’ in front of a blind man?
RIP Richard Lewis
Richard and his similes and metaphors “im not the kremlin” “i dont live in a Cuban dance hall” “you were looking at her breast with a gd telescope like Galileo” 😭 sobbing laughing
RIP Richard, thanks for the laughs. Rest easy king
RIP Richie Boy. Thanks for all the brilliant kvetching.
"I see it in a historical sense but not in a nice day sense." One of my favoirte lines ever.
So glad Richard Lewis is doing better and is onboard for season 12!
This didnt age well unfortunately
Richard Lewis looks like a famished Al Pacino.
Well in the scene with Jerry and Larry he actually was “famished”
fun fact: richard was the godfather of al pacino's son
I laughed at this harder than I should’ve.
I'm gonna leave here the biggest thank you ever, for making this video. I mean seriously you took the time of making the best 96 minutes of gold, just pure entertainment! And it's in a chronological order, i am really impressed and I can't thank you enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you! And god bless you!
Bravo😅
indeed, this is brilliant thank you
I agree! It’s so appreciated.
Totally agree. Love this compilation.
1:07:00 “I don’t live in a Cuban dancehall” 😂😂😂😂 even Richard struggled to keep a straight face
Thank you for timestamping the scene, it was literally what I was looking for in this compilation! Larry David's bird sounds are so freaking funny, and the Cuban dance hall line is pure gold
Seinfeld Seinfeld
He doesn’t know you from a hole in the wall
This compilation is GOLD
'If you leave me now, I'll collapse' One of my favourite lines from Richard!
"clapse"
I bursted out laughing out loud when I heard that so dramatic hahahaa
One of the greatest things on the internet, full stop. Kudos to whoever curated this.
I’m glad someone did the legwork and compiled this - thank you for your service.
13:35 This exchange between them when the therapist comes out was hilarious 😭😂😂 Battlestar Galactica though 💀💀
Lmao right, that was so smooth of them to change the subject as soon as the therapist came out
1:26:41"You're two hundred years old and you were gonna have a baby"
😂😂😂😂😂
“You know what she should be reading? EMILY FUCKING POST! That’s what she should be reading.” Great line.
“It’s the invisible Jew. Richard Lewis. Remember me? “
I finally found a clip of this great scene lol thank you.
What's the timestamp?
57:00
The first scene shows what a great actor is Lewis. The body language is fantastic and the way they talk back to each other and they cover each other voices out of "anger" is something I only saw so convincing on De Niro and Pesci especially in Casino.
look up richard lewis in the movie 'drunks'
@@GHOSTbirdnatureLOVER Thanks. I will.
RIP Richard. You were the man.
Wow, what a great video. I love Richard Lewis, from his mannerisms to his delivery, it's just priceless. Him and Larrys' antics are the best, you can really tell they're having fun.
the larry and richard interactions get better as they get older HAHA
Like a fine whine
Richard Lewis is too adorable. ❤
i know, i want to hug him like larry does at 41:04
Crying, drinking and getting high to this tonight. RIP TO A LEGEND..
The colon contest bit is one of my favorites lmao
“I’ll have a colon contest with you any day!”
@@whyyoutrippindeebo3514 ANNNYYYTIME you wanna have a colon contest buddy!!!
I just watched the whole video without pausing. Can't get enough of Lewis on Curb. RIP
This is like an in-memorium soap opera, and we are here for it.
Their chemistry just perfection. They grew up together. Larrys tribute was so touching....Richard made me cry today....yeah all of us too.
The best friendship in all of television.
Thank you for putting all these clips together. Richard and Larry interactions were the best. Great friendship. 😢sad he is not here but good memories stay.
Richard Lewis was one of a kind. His chemistry on Curb was unparalleled. Funny as hell and a real mensch. Gone too soon my friend 🥺
The references kill me. “What is this, Roots?” “Pat Robertson’s gin partner.” 🤣🤣🤣
When he asked him "when are you gonna die" I laughed so hard. It caught me completely off guard.
I'd say that aged well but eerily.
“Kidney’s a kidney is a kidney”
Richard Lewis pushed me on the sidewalk across the street from a comedy club in San Francisco in 1991. I was running down the street looking for a pay phone because I had just seen a for rent sign for an apartment and didn’t have a pen. I audibly gasped when I saw the pay phone and charged towards it. I didn’t see Richard Lewis standing there until he was actually reaching out to push me away. It was a shocking moment for me. I guess he thought I had gasped and run towards him. I just stood there confused and then continued on towards the pay phone before I realized that I had just been physically pushed by Richard Lewis 😂
This is one of the funniest random celebrity anecdotes.
It was a celebrity meeting. Not a nice one but a meeting nevertheless. Be content with that.
Man, thank you for this video. Seriously I watch all 1,5 hours of this video at least 3 times in a month. It saves me every time
RIP Richard. Huge fan my whole life. Great comic, huge inspiration being sober, and watching you and Larry all these years was such a treat. You'll be missed. Two Curb giants gone. (RIP to Bob Einstein aka Marty Funkhouser)
One of the best Curb videos on RUclips. Thanks for doing this! This is Larry's best relationship on the show.
RIP legend. Thanks for the laughs.
I'm a recovering alcoholic, I have intimacy problems.
You two have a lot in common. He can't see, and you have intimacy problems lol.
"As a man thinketh, so is he." Uh, oh.
This is the video I have been waiting years for. I could watch these two all day. Love it.
RIP RICHARD
"who needs all this shit when you're trying to eat a snack" Lewis on scones. The Best.
That was amazing! I watched the whole thing and laughed my ass off! You should have put the scene in there where Richard was calling everybody in the restaurant "honey" to show his girlfriend its just something he says a lot. That was hilarious too.. This was great work! Im saving this to revisit periodically for a good laugh. Thank you
You're right honey!
The Honey episode wasn't really an argument.
Yes, also the colon contest is phenomenal.
I love that one. He called her honey to soon lol. The solution was great. Good friends.
The first clip I’m already in tears and there’s still another hour and a half 😂
Richard Lewis is such a lovable guy! We Curb fans are heart broken. RIP
Hands down best video on RUclips
“Forget Paris!” 😂
haha love that one
What is that a reference to?
@@emiel255The mid 90s Meg Ryan romantic comedy, named Forget Paris!
RIP Legend
RIP Richard Lewis 🫡 The scenes between these 2 were always great 😢
49:15 ALWAYS gets me...his face when he realizes what the hell is trying to actually say, LMAO! This is probably the only time Larry questions his reasoning and backtracks. Too good.
Rip Richard Lewis ❤️🙏🏻💙🩵🪦😔we love you
The greatest part of the show was the friendship between these two❤ safe travels Richard Lewis, thanks for all the laughs.
These are individually, each a lesson in comedy genius
You gotta feel for the guy he doesn't have a wife and his parents are dead
Little orphan Lewis
Thank you Bubba, thank you internet and thank you world for allowing: A Complete Timeline of Richard Lewis and Larry David Banter & Arguments (Curb Your Enthusiasm) to exist. This 97 minutes being out there makes the world a better place.
Rest in peace! U were a key reason this show was phenomenal, we’re gonna miss u!
best dysfunctional rapport in tv history
“I see it in a historical sense, but not in a nice day sense”. Lol that park always kills me
Wow, Larry and Richard look so young in that first clip. Seems like yesterday that Curb launched….it’s easy to forget it’s been around for so long.
This is a huge blow. Rest in Peace Lewis
So ironic. I've been watching this video over and over the last week and a half. RIP Richard.
Me too 😢
Ironic? Iconic you meant or
“It’s like the little drummer boys funeral-this is what hes wearing in the casket” 😂😂😂 one of Jeff’s best lines 😂
Richard: I could've had a baby with this woman
Larry: A baby? You're 200 years old 😅😅
watching this after the news of richard’s passing. RIP to a legend. he was a big part of what made this show great
Knowing these 2 old boys have known each other since they were kids is so beautiful. Makes it even funnier 🤪
This is Gold! We need a montage with him and Funkhouser next
Without hyperbole, they are arguably the greatest comedic buddy relationship in tv history. Gleason and Carney would be proud.
Edit: Larry and Jeff are incredible, but I rate Lewis higher due to their irrational hatred and love for one another.
I rate them right below Tony and Artie in Sopranos. Really wonderful shows
RIP RL..you're going to get a mil views today. Thanks for getting this together
Best part of the show. R.I.P Richard Lewis 🙏🏻
Rest in Peace Mr Richard Lewis 🕊️
Had to come here after the news 😢 Richard Lewis was so funny
