Amazing video, I can't believe how well you explained it. I couldn't understand this for the past 4 months but you explained it in 10 minutes. You need more attention this is crazy stuff. Very well explained and the pauses in the middle are awesome. Thank you man
As a mechanical engineer watching this, I am shocked you don't ready have millions of followers. Many many students are missing out not knowing about this channel.
Thank-you this channel is a gem. I'm so glad i discovered it! I'm enlightened, thank-you for breaking things down so beautifully with reasoning. Some people have a habit of puking facts but i loved this one.
Who else had difficulty hearing “ Sigma bonds” without visualizing weird faces PPLE on TikTok make when they do something cool, and call it ‘Sigma’? This was a tough video to watch 😂
No - the 2 p orbitals overlap BUT remember that they only have one electron in each orbital not two. So when the orbitals overlap - despite there being two places of overlap they can only form one bond where there are two electrons therefore making a single pi pond. So there is 1 pi bond + 1 sigma bond = double bond. Hope this helps :)
I’m in a German school, watching an English video because my teacher is not capable of explaining it effectively And why do we have to learn this in Highschool?? It’s normally in university😭😭
You have no idea how much this has helped me. No one could help me visualize how orbitals exist properly. I wish you much more success in the future
Thank you! Good luck :)
Outstanding. Thank you so much for the clear explanation and high quality visualizations.
Thank you! Glad it helped :)

Absolutely brilliant. Couldn't be better, helped so much thank you 😆🙏
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
Thank you so much! my teacher was ill and had us learning by ourselves and I couldn't understand it. your visuals are soooo helpful!

Thank you!
Fantastic video, the best explanation of Sigma and Pi bonds I came across, great detail and still simple to understand. Thank you
Thank you! Really glad it helped :)
this is awesome, you explained it so well 😭 much love from Turkey ❤️❤️❤️

thanks a lottttttttttt... i am literally confused, it cannot be this easy to understand. thanks a lot again
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
This is the only video that made this concept click for me! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Really pleased it helped :)
You deserve so much more! Thank you so much for this great explanation
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful :)
Yo, I'm in first year BSc biotechnology and I'm finally understanding covalent binding. Thanks so much, love the animations, they really help.
Thank you! Good luck with the Biotechnology degree :)
It's really helpful. i used to be confused with these bonds ..Thank you...
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
This is just easy to understand, thank you for the explanation. It really helped me a lot
That’s great! Thank you :)
excellent video! Finally this topic make sense to me. Thank you so much!

No one wtf?!
Me, brain rot at its finest😂
Erm what the sigma
Kid
Very interesting in fact brilliant found it great and the voice very easy to follow
Wow, I love the simplified explanation, and the clear picture of p- orbitals look like and over lap. Thanks so much❤
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
Thank you! Hope it helped :)
Thank you so much! My friend recommended this video and it really helped me understand about sigma and pi bonds.
Thank you for watching :)
video was super easy to understand thank you
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
underrated channel fr, subbed
Thank you!
Bro you explained very intuitively, thank you sooo much, you have a new follower 🙂
Thank you! Really glad it helped - good luck with your studies!
@@chemistry.student thanks !
wow this has been really helpful !! thank you so much for making this video
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
Underrated channel - thank you so much ☺🙏
Thank you!
The best explanation, thank you 😍
Thank you! Hope it helped :)
great video man. well explained
Thank you! Hope studying goes well :)
This is a miracle thank u 😭
Thank you it finally makes sense
Great!
thank you so much, it really helped me to understand this topic. the visualisation and explanation are great!))
Thank you! Glad it helped :)
Could you please show how bonding looks for Disilyne Si2H2. I mean P-bonds for 3-d period look more complex than for 2nd period. Thank you in advance.
This is A-level in the UK and I'm so pissed that they're making us take this at 15 years old in my country
Normal
Which country is this?
I do think our school system is lax compared to others 😅
A level students in my country do this at 16, not that big of a deal
We do it as 14 year olds
great explanation.
Thank you!
Wait, isn't the sigma bond in O2 the overlap of sp2 orbitals not p? Or did I miss something?
Why should a pi bond be above and below does that not mean you have 1 pair from sigma and 2 pairs from pi making 3 pairs of electrons?
No - the 2 p orbitals overlap BUT remember that they only have one electron in each orbital not two. So when the orbitals overlap - despite there being two places of overlap they can only form one bond where there are two electrons therefore making a single pi pond. Is there a video where you discuss and explain the different types of orbitals : Spdf etc. im struggling to understand those
Yes! ruclips.net/video/2nYTKP8QvfQ/видео.html Hope it helps :)
thank you!

It's a tricky topic - however it is usually taught at 16 to 18 level, don't worry - you aren't alone!
