    Mark. Hello from the US, Oregon. I'm a 77yr old "rider" since the age of 15. Many British bikes, '62 Velo Venom, '67 Tbolt after returning from Vietnam, a '69 441 Victor and lastly a '69 TR6. My apologies for going on. I recently purchased a '23 RE Interceptor, Orange Crush and have been personalizing it for memories of the '60s and '70s. I have ordered a front fender from Hitchcock and other after market add-ons...reverse cone megaphones for example..thank you for your videos. I'm a British bike enthusiast for many years. If there is a way to speak to you, please advise. I'm legit. Not a robot😂...again my thanks

    I like those mudguards and might get some for my glitter and dust version. I am not so keen on the new chain guard, don’t like how much chain is on view compared to the standard guard. Shame as the finish is nice with the gloss black. I may look at getting the standard one wrapped or maybe painted.

    The mudguard I would be tempted to undercoat the bottom with a spray on bed liner they use here for pickup truck beds. Or a similar undercoat that is long wearing. 👍 But it looks good left alone too. Just thinking of road noise reduction and corrosion resistance.

    • @MarkESBuckmaster
      @MarkESBuckmaster  3 года назад +1

      This reply is probably a bit late. Being alloy, there is no chance of corrosion but a an undercoat wouldn't hurt.

    The mudguards look good, little details make the difference. Are you popping a reflector back on the bike, if so how are you going to mount it?

    • @MarkESBuckmaster
      @MarkESBuckmaster  4 года назад

      That's a good question. I'll admit I hadn't given it any thought. But I have just checked the legal requirements and apparently, it's a legal requirement to have a red reflector plate fitted. Reflector tape is not adequate. Anyhow came across this on eBay.

    Good video thanks. What metal is the front mudguard mat made from? If steel would it be advisable to put a sheet of strong polythene to stop electrolytic corrosion. Alternatively could it just be replaced by a couple of aluminium washers?

    • @MarkESBuckmaster
      @MarkESBuckmaster  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the advice, you're the second person to mention that. I'll contact Hitchcocks in the morning to find out what metals are being used.

    • @greentrumpet
      @greentrumpet 5 лет назад +1

      @@MarkESBuckmaster Hi, it's more the mat that comes with the original guards that's the problem. Hitchcocks say the new guards are polished alloy, if the mat is steel there could be a reaction hence my suggestion of polythene under the mat or a couple of large alloy washers to replace it.

    • @MarkESBuckmaster
      @MarkESBuckmaster  5 лет назад

      @@greentrumpet I've had a reply from Hitchcocks and the plate is steel but it's painted so there is no direct contact between it and the alloy. However, I don't see any harm in doing what you suggest and put a piece of polythene between the plate and the mudguard as extra protection.

    Definite improvement and they look particularly essential if you have the Glitter & Dust Interceptor. Hard to tell on camera but did you find they match pretty closely to the rest of the chrome on the bike?

    • @MarkESBuckmaster
      @MarkESBuckmaster  4 года назад

      Hi Joe, they are a very close match to the other chrome. They would look really good with the Glitter and Dust Interceptor. In fact I tried to order a chrome Continental fuel tank from India, as I fancy the look of the Continental tank but with the riding position of the Interceptor but alas I wasn't allowed to complete my order. I think it is to do with the lockdown in India at the moment.

    Useful video, thanks Mark. Do you have details of your bike lift. Was it grey as standard? It looks narrow & compact compared to others I have looked at.

    • @MarkESBuckmaster
      @MarkESBuckmaster  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Nigel, this is the link for the lift
      www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202284305673
      It is grey as standard and is slimmer. That does present a problem getting the bike on its centre stand. There is no room for you to stand on lift next to the bike. Even when it's fully down, the platform is a few inches off than the ground and I couldn't get the leverage with one foot higher than the other. The solution, however, is very simple. I cut the pallet that the lift came on in half length wise and positioned that next to the lift. It's practical the same level and standing on that I can easily put the bike on its centre stand. The other alternative would be to use a paddock stand. If you had help, it probably wouldn't be a problem.

      Unfortunately (7"x 9") is the legal required size of registration plate here in the UK, I believe the ones in Germany are even larger than ours, they look like a barn door. Incidentally, unlike the USA, side mounted plates aren't strictly legal in the UK either although some of my H=D riding friends have them fitted.
