@@GusMacdonald-rh9eg My condolences to you my friend.
Yes many murdered for a lot less in this place.
People forget a human being with a family are forever destroyed and would rather look at Orange and Green to justify it in their minds.
Humans must move away from this caveman madness.
I appreciate your comment very much.

The Surname Black was a neutral name thought out Scottish history. As they were the family who made the weapons and shoed the ponies and horses of the clannsmen. Just as the Macgregors were the bowsmen and the Fletchers were their arrow makers. Thank you for making it possible for us all to watch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿1692

Prison officers were not randomly picked they put themselves up front as a trophy, it’s sad for family and friends but prisoners pick the targets.

This might sound like a stupid question, but are the New IRA the newest form of the IRA or is that the Real IRA? I can’t actually remember…

never a stupid question my friend just possibly a stupid answer! The dissidents have so many factions I have no idea who is the most recent!

    • @FRM101
      @FRM101 Год назад

It's an excellent question. The answer is yes, and no. Below is a brief explanation of the mutiple IRA splits, ending in the 'New IRA.'
IRA (the original Michael Collins IRA) split to form pro-treaty and anti-treaty sides during the 1922-23 Irish civil war. The losing side (anti-treaty) later fashioned themeselves the Official IRA (as a means of marking the pro-treaty IRA, which they considered to be illegitimate, as 'unofficial').
PIRA (Provisional Irish Republican Army) broke away from thesouthern based Official IRA in late 1969, citing the Official's inability to understand and respond to worsening events in the north. PIRA (aka Provos) soon out grew their parent organization, and became the primary armed Republican group of the Troubles.
INLA (Irish National Liberation Army) was established in 1974. Like the Provisionals the INLA was formed by break away members of the Official IRA. And although they were much smaller (and much more socialist oriented) than the Provisionals, the INLA was still very active during the Troubles. Also like the Provisionals, they were party to the 1998 ceasfire and subsequent peace proccess. They officially put down arms in 2009.
CIRA (Continuity Irish Republican Army) broke away from the Provisional IRA in 1986 over the Provisional's monumental vote/decision to end abstentionism in the Republic of Ireland and take the seats they are elected to in the Dáil Éireann (the parliament of the Republic of Ireland). The 1923 anti-treaty IRA never recognized the pro-treaty government (which became the Republic of Ireland) as legitimate, and this tradition/rule carried down through the decades within every version of the IRA. The Provisional's (and Sinn Fein's) 1986 decision/vote to end it, made them the first post civil war IRA group to end abstentionsim and recognize the ROI government. Hence the word 'continuity' used by the dissenters of this vote/decision. CIRA later opposed the 1998 peace proccess and the resulting GFA (Good Friday Accord). Although CIRA has long been plagued with internal upheaval and deadly infighting (a CIRA chief of staff was murdered in 2014, reportedly by fellow members), it is my understanding that CIRA, as an organization, never merged with any other dissident group, and while severely reduced, is technically still in existence today.
RIRA (Real Irish Republican Army) splintered from PIRA (Provisional IRA) between late 1997 and early 1998, making them the first dissident Republican group formed specifically in opposition to the Good Froday Accords. Because RIRA was dounded and led by the Provisional's former Quarter Master General, Michael McKevitt (who oversaw the acquisition, concealment and maintenance of Provisional weaponry) and because he was backed by his wife Bernadette (sister of Bobby Sands), the Real IRA attracted primarily veteran Provisionals who were dissolusioned with the Adams/McGuinnes led peace efforts. These factors also made RIRA the most dangerous post GFA dissident group (see 1998 Omagh bombing).
McKevitt was later convicted on terrorism charges in 2003 based on the testimony of an American FBI/MI5 informant, David Rupert (a documentary featured here on ATL). McKevitt was released in 2016 and died of cancer in 2021.
In 2012 (during McKevitt's imprisonment), what was left of the Real IRA merged with RAAD (Republican Action Against Drugs) and other smaller dissident Republican factions to form the New IRA (NIRA), which is the primary armed Republican dissident group in the North of Ireland today. However, you must bare in mind, the terms 'Real' and 'New' are media and police inventions as a way to help aid their own, and the public's, understanding. Internally these two groups continued to identify themselves as simply the 'Irish Republican Army.'
I hope that helps your understanding.

This unashamed propaganda in this programme is clearly insincere. The simple fact of the matter is that this guard was singled out by prisoners from all his colleagues for a reason. It seems that his extraordinary righteousness might not have extended to inside an inhumane UK prison.
