Good job resurrecting that stone. I'm glad that you didn't remove it from the setting as the little places where to you were unable to get close the mounting shows character IMHO. I'm a firm believer that honest wear on gem are like wrinkles...they are earned.
I was so worried about the stone and the prongs being damaged, she kept polishing and switching the polishing tools one after another… it was hard to watch. But I guess it looks better now.
l bought the jooltool, b here in couple days. Sooo happy. Be doing bunches of drill bits, the carbon unibodies dull drills, some aluminum, some steel pieces in this tilting Humsn powered vehicle.
Hi I'm actually wondering if you might be able to help me, my son loves the stones and gemstones in its raw form. He wants to unpolish all the polished rocks and gems he has in his collection. So my question is, is there a way to unpolish them?
Absolutely, he would use the diamond grades that are used in the beginning of this video when I was trying to remove the deep pits. Super fun and easy!
@@JooltoolUSA hi thanks so much for replying! I don't have any of the Super awesome tools you are using, my son is still quite young! But he is just fascinated by rocks and minerals. I'm wondering whether there is another option? Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions!
The way to make them rough would be to use a very aggressive diamond. You might want to consider a diamond stone in a aggressive grit I think that would be your least expensive option. That’s wonderful that he is fascinated with stones I actually have sold many Jooltool‘s to Young, Stone enthusiast who have worked all summer and saved up money for one! ♥️
It is hard to understand how that ring got that scratched up. amethyst is quartz with a hardness of 7MOH and is difficult to scratch as badly as that piece. Could it be it was artificial? Just wondering.
The Deluxe Lapidary Kit is $899.99 USD.. it comes complete with all the discs for working on Hard Stones & Softer stones. Here is the website link: jooltool.com/products/deluxe-lapidary-glass-kit-1?_pos=1&_sid=6eee7c1fd&_ss=r
Not good what you are doing. Take stone out and use a Faceting machine to repolish or re-facet the stone if it looks like that Amethyst. All you are doing is making it into a Oval Cabochon.
I would be gutted if I lost that ring, its beautiful!
So Beautiful!!!
So Beautiful. That is my birthstone and that is a beautiful ring.
Lynn McDermett Hi Lynn! You have a pretty birthstone! Thank you! 😘
This is AWESOME!!! Very nice. Yep, I need a few more disks now. Thanks for sharing! 🌵👩🏼🎨🔨
I also have an amethyst stone on a Mexican silver money clip that I've been wanting to remove scratches off of. Very informative! Thank you!

The tool looks great - but what a shame she ground off the edges of all the facets! I would be sooo upset in the owner’s shoes.

Try diy tumbler with a course medium..

The stone was genuine. Over 100 years is a long time that something could look as old as this ring. Hardness of seven is not hard to scratch.
Can I send you my ring? My ring was stuck on my finger for years. I work I. The landscape biz and the stone got scratched up. Sapphire btw.
Send me a picture of it! Anie@jooltool.com and let’s help you out! -Anie ♥️
