This song was like a victory lap after the clash at sting saying Mavado ran from him off the stage 🔥
The backstory to this is crazy. The beef between Kartel and Mavado split Jamaica in half, to the point the government had to step in and mediate a ceasefire because for some fans it was on sight. They released diss songs back and forth for a while before and after the clash. I'm pretty sure you can find vids on youtube with all the diss songs and responses between the two.
When he said running, He is referring to the fact that movado left without going to the end. So it a thing jamaicans would say don't run stand and fight until the end.

Movado tour band was the live backing band rotated on when the clash started. Kartel dominated the clash but in a brief moment near the end. while Movado was being outclassed and it was clearly near the end. Kartel said some culturally inappropriate shit that had the crowd turn on him. Movado then dropped to quick 2 shots which got big crowd support as they were still giving Karyel the "did he really say that" side eye. Movado and the live band then quickly left the stage with the crowd unsure if the wanted to declare Kartel the winner despite it being a clear victory for him.
This song is after the clash that Kartel won and he wrote this song about Movado indicating that he was the “last man standing”.
Kartel is a God sent in when comes to entertaining people .

Well since I was there I can tell you exactly what happened......
In Jamaica the clash isn't over until the crowd announced a winner mavado had started out well same as vybz the last part of the clash started getting a bit nervous in my eyes and realised that the clash could be lost he sang a song he did earlier in the set which most deejays try to avoid, a good clash artist is able to respond to his opponent with new song or freestyle each round...... Anyway I don't want to draw it out too much, mavado left the stage before the crowd called in a winner leaving kartel on stage waiting
I don't want to say kartel won but since he really was the last man standing this song was a instant hit the very next day after sting
Between the two of them there was more than 50 diss songs

For the running, if you rewatch the sting clash, Mavado left the stage and came back then left again. He literally ran from the clash.
Also if you were paying attention you'd realize he sang the same song twice and even encouraged Kartel to "kill the barber boy" (Mavado himself)

@AG TV the boy kartel made that fuckry song to defend his image and status after loosing at sting. When he diss Mavado’s mother, he got booed till the end of the clash and Mavado end him with his responses, then Ninjaman (a veteran in dancehall) arrived and asked to the crowd who won and they said Mavado. Kartel talk about « running » because when Mavado did respond to the mother diss, he left the stage a few seconds and came back to make an other punchline that the crowd approved. So just because Mavado left the stage after ending him, Kartel call that « running » just to have argument for the next diss songs that he made.
