Thanks so much to Middleton Place for making this available to so many of us through its on line newsletter. What a fabulous recollection, even saw my first house in Charleston, 75 Church Street. Of course, the film was a product of its time and did not tell the whole story but it was beautiful to see Charleston as it was in the 30's. Judy

Bulldog Tours, I don't know where you found this old film, but, I find it to be EXCELLENT!!
It describes a Charleston that is no more.

I am Charleston born and Charleston bred and when I die I will be Charleston dead!
I enjoyed this tour even though I see it all the time, I never get tired of my Charleston.
I just wish the man speaking had had a Charleston accent.
Charleston has it's own flavor of the Southern accent and it is NOT anything like the Up-State or other Southern cities and states. It is more refined and elegant and not so nasal. One ought to visit Charleston in the Spring, Fall or even Winter.

The story is told that the children who resided at The Orphan House(the site is now covered by dorm buildings of The College of Charleston; was initially torn down in the 50's and a Sears and Roebuck replaced it) used call the Pitt statue GEORGE WASHINGTON GETTING OUT OF BED.😊😊😊😊

At St. Philip's there are two churchyards.
One is for the native-born Charlestonians. The other is for those who are FROM OFF(people not born in Charleston).🤔🤔🤔🤔
