WHAT IS THIS SONG OMG 🇭🇷 What is the meaning? I LOVE IT 😍
I analysed the lyrics and meaning here ➡ruclips.net/video/2cRsiuLXP9k/видео.html
Anti Putin song. Mama ŠČ = Mother Russia, ŠČ = a letter of the Russian alphabet.
It's an anti-war song. LET3 has been breaking the mould for over 20 years and they're amazing :)
Men this is crtisism of Putin!
Mom bought a tractor is reflection of refugees and the innocent people!
Little psychopath is Putin and his invasion of Ukraine!
And the bald man with rockets has written of his head 'Lenin'!
Totaly criticism of russian invasion of Ukraine!
Mama ljubila morona=mom kissed moron (her son) Onaj mali psihopat= Those little Psihopat (Putin)
It's Putin. 😆😆😆
anyone who understands the message of the song will realize that this is an absolute masterpiece
It is crap and it relfects fakse idea that Putin is wrong, that he is bad, that he caused all the shit.
They are idiots, their message is pure prooaganda.
Sure, it is. Brilliant music and performance
@@Horrorgraphy The song is much more than it seems musically
amen
Anti war song, mocking mother Russia
Tractor is a reference to Lukashenko's birthday present to Putin. In the song Putin is described as a "vile little psychopath", the vocalist represents Stalin, and the guy with rockets has NINLE on his forhead (wordplay:Nin-Le=Lenin). Mama ŠČ is a metaphor for Mother Russia, and crocodile is a drug popular in Russia that makes people act like zombies.
The meaning of the lyrics is kinda obvious now:
"Mama bought a tractor"
"Mama (meaning Russia) loved a moron (meaning Putin)"
"That little psychopath (W-w-war, war)
Little, vicious psychopath (W-w-war, war)
Crocodile psychopath (W-w-war, war)
Mama, I'm going to war"
The whole thing is trolling Putin level 10000000.
Also, I would bring your attention to the fact that band members are naked in the end, with roses sticking out of their rear parts ;)
"..roses sticking out of their rear parts..." - harkening back to the flowers against guns/flower power movement in the 60s!? Maybe!?
[Edit] Thanks to everyone replying, and adding additional information. Just wanted to say that I do know who Let3 is, and I have seen them live in the early 2000s... even though someone threw tear gas during their performance which forced us temporarily out of the venue... still was awesome being a teen in that moment in time.
Anyways, thought maybe the roses in this particular instance had additional layers of meaning. 👍✌

@@lilianac4728 You can take a look at what FidelisRaven wrote. This is the full explanation:

@@lilianac4728 Beside Eugens explanation, there are so many other hidden messages in this song. For instance, ladies dancing in the background look like usual SSSR propaganda with red stripes and their posture, as Putin is trying to reinstate some sort of SSSR with this war. When "war starts" (the confusing part of the song that is mashed up with a lot of sounds), you can see some of the performers fall down and "die", as war is deadly and confusing. The tractor might also be a Russian war machine and Russian military propaganda, as it is repeated, so I can see a different meaning every time they repeat. ŠČ is a letter in the Russian alphabet (I do not think it exists anywhere else). You can see it in the word BorŠČ, a famous Russian meal.... so many different meanings in just under 2 and a half minutes. I think this song is pure genius!

LYRICS EXPLAINED✨
Tractor is a reference to Lukashenko's birthday gift for Putin. In the song, Putin is described as "little vile psychopath". The vocalist represents Stalin, while other guy has written on his head NJINLE (word game: LENIN). Mother ŠČ is a metaphor for mother Russia, and crocodile is a drug popular in Russia that makes people behave like zombies.
Lyrics could be translated like this:
Mama bought a tractor
Mama loved a moron
Bridge: (The most chaotic part of the song; letters of Croatian alphabet)
Mama im going to war!
That little psychopath
Little viscous psychopath
Crocodile psychopath
Mama, I'm going to war
💡fun facts:
💃Let 3 has been on Croatian music stage for over 30 years, they are known for making provoking, satirical songs based on political events
🚜They actually arrived to Dora music contest on tractor
✏ŠČ is the oldest letter of Croatian's Glagolitic script originated in 9th century
I think that it is another way around.
Some 30 or so years ago, there was SSSR, many referred to it as Russia. One of the republics, today an independent country bordering Russia and Ukraine is Belarus. Around east Europe and also in Yugoslavia (a former country whose federal part was Croatia back then)... Belarus was the name of the tractor. As it was a big producer of tractors named Belarus (Belorus). Mama is a synonym for Russia, from "Mother Russia" as it was called in many communist countries.
So: Mother has bought a tractor actually means: Russia has bought Belarus. Other verses are more obvious: Mother (Russia again) kisses moron (you can guess). Crocodile psychopath (Crocodile tears)...
And ŠČ (phonetically) is a letter that exists just in Russian Alphabet.
Antiwar song against Putin and his nuclear threads against the world and against dictatorship. The tractor is a reference to dictator Lukashenko’s birthday present for dictator Putin’s 70th birthday recently. Mama ŠČ stands for Mother Russia. It’s a parody on Lenin, Stalin, psychopath Putin and dictatorship in general

the song is dedicated to the Serbs who were expelled from Croatia on tractors in 1995... together with the Croatian army, NATO participated in the expulsion of the Serbs, and because of this, Croatians think that it is popular in the EU and that they will win the Eurovision Song Contest
So wrong. The song has nothing to do with local situation or Serbs in general.

its punk! its a anti war song - MAMA ŠĆ is for all mothers who lost sons at war
ŠČ (Russian Ŝ), Let3's song about Putin's ("Mother") Russia, is the most appropriate aesthetic-musical Croatian answer for the Eurovision song to the current Russian aggression. So let's decipher the text a bit. "Mama" is constantly repeated in the song: "Mama bought a tractor, Mama loved a moron" ... "Mama" as Mother Russia, and Belarus (Belarus) is by the way a tractor model ... Mother Russia (sub)bought a Tractor (Belarus) from which she also launched aggression, and from which evil also spreads (similarly, they have been "buying" whoever they can for years ... By the way, Putin recently bought Lukashenko a tractor for his birthday). In short, Mother Russia loves a moron - Putin - a little crocodile psychopath, who threatens armageddon, for which the little man goes to war. That's roughly how Let3 sees it lyrically, the only ones on the Croatian scene who sang symbolically and sarcastically about Russian aggression, which is shaping the fate of Europe. Recently, in one of the interviews, when they appeared in a TV studio with rockets with "Lenin" written on them, they stated that Putin is "an example of a braggart who thinks the planet is his toy." That's what the band from the left spectrum is saying, while many others are silent! And as for the other songs, mostly rather empty and worn-out lamentations about the sufferings of love... and for that, it is better to open "The Sufferings of Young Werther"
👍 🇺🇦♥️🇭🇷
Jut a Small correction. Lukashenko actually gave the tractor to Putin for his 70th birthday not the other way around. Everything else is correct as far as I know :)
What about Ukraine aggression on Iraq with their master USA in 2003 🤣
This is by far the best song for this competition. I love it!
Lol. You are one of the rare reactors who actually enjoyed the song. I mean the whole point of the song is pretty obvious I would say. It's a parody on certain current world event. Done in a weirdly catchy style. I had this song stuck in my head after one listen. Understanding the lyrics probably doesn't really change much, because the lyrics themselves aren't as important. I think the performance and the visuals convey most of the meaning here, while the music is there to hook you in. It's certainly a very polarizing song, but I feel like it could do well. Actually I hope it does.
mama- mother russia
small psiho - put-in
trakcor - present from lukashenko to putin, and an armored vehicle transport device :)
armagedon -nuclear
playing war - lots of solider where CS gamers that wanted to try the real thing
LGBT look - the thing russia is afraid of, usually those guys walk naked on stage, so there is symbolic to it :), look at the details too
I grew up listening to Let 3. I never laugh so hard like watching you trying to figure this one out!!! 😂😂😂😂 So much fun!!!
A big thank you to LET 3. Mama ŠČ gave a fierce critique, but at the same time, it radiates a lot of positive energy, which can only cause one thing in these dire times: CATHARZIS !!! Podrška iz Budimpešte
It's a political satire and a parody - they're genius!
Oh I love this! Maybe it's because I am Serbian and I can understand the lyrics. It's hilarious but also catchy as hell :D Will definitely vote for it, given the fact that the rest of Eurovision songs are boring as hell

That's one interpretation, but it is actually trolling all psychopaths that want wars and dictatorships.
At least that's what Let3 have said themselves.
It's a satirical song. Satire is something inherent to the "Let3" band
It's antiwar song, but it's not actaully easy to understand for native Croatians as well. 🤣
Zašto ne? Pa izabrali su je!
As a Croat who understands lyrics, I would also like to provide an additional interpretation of the first two verses.
So the first verse goes "Mama kupila traktora", and it actually doesn't literally decode to Lukashenko buying a tractor to Putin, but to Russia "buying"/bribing Belarus and establishing control over Belarus. That's because "kupila" translates to "she bought". Also, беларус (=Belarus) is the best selling model of tractor in Belarus, and this makes the parody more apparent. This interpretation is important for understanding the second verse "Armageddon nona", which is harder to understand. "Nona" in Croatian means grandmother. So if "mama" = Russia, then "nona" = "Soviet Union". This makes more sense if you consider that Russia "bought" Belarus, and has now transformed itself into new Soviet Union who wants to be an empire (armageddon nona).
Finally the nonsensical spelling of alphabet letters in the middle of the song actually represents unification of (Soviet) states into new Soviet Union, which is now represented with a new symbol "ŠČ".
Also "ŠČ" is parody of letter "Z" which you can now see on Russian tanks deployed in Ukraine.
Despite being punk rockers, Let 3 are known in Croatia and ex-Yugoslav states for their unique punk rock style and deep symbolism. Their main member Mrle also writes texts for theatre plays, which is also worth pointing out.
So the whole performance must be taken into account while interpreting it, because this isn't a song you can listen to on radio, but a mini opera that makes a parody of horrors of totalitarianism.
Č (Russian Ŝ), Let3's song about Putin's ('Mother') Russia, is the most appropriate aesthetic and musical Croatian answer for the Eurovision song to the current Russian aggression. So let's decipher the text a bit. 'Mama' is constantly repeated in the song: 'Mama bought a tractor, Mama loved a moron'... 'Mama' as Mother Russia, and Belarus (Belarus) is actually a tractor model... Mother Russia (sub)bought a Tractor (Belarus) from which she also launched aggression, and from which evil is also spreading (similarly, they have been 'buying' whoever they can for years ... There is also the monk symbolics with the nukes and anagram of Lenjin on his forehead. The nukes is clear: Armageddon.
Lenjin is the founder of Soviet Union and Putin is known as someone who always regretted that Soviet Union was dissolved, he wanted to reestablish it. That's the reason for the war against Ukraine: Without the second largest country, Soviet Union can't exist. So far the meaning of Lenjin.
But there is more, the monk in black apparently represents Rasputin. Read carefully: Ras-Putin.
What this means?
Putin means "the man who is on the (right) way: "Put" in Russian.
Like e.g. Jesus is the way to God for Christians: "Ich bin der Weg" in German.
So Putin is the way for the Russian nation, their saviour.
While Ras-Putin means the exact opposite. The part "Ras" in Russian means destroying of what is represented by the word following Ras. Like in Ras-kolnikov from Dostojewskis famous novel. It means to be devided in itself, a shizo.
So what Let3 wants to say: Putin, the (right) way, has chosen the (wrong) way of destruction (nukes, Ras-Putin) following the (wrong) idea of resurrection of Soviet Union, represented by their founder, Lenjin.
The song is full of symbolisms and hidden citations. That's just one of them.
Knowing the work of Let3, this song could be a middle finger to anyone who talks lightly about war, provokes it or wants to make money from it. The music backwards could mean repeating history (because of moron psychopaths).. In fact, with Let3 it is possible that they are making fun of us while we try to understand what they meant.
Nah, c‘mon, they don‘t make fun of anybody, they‘re very cereal :)))

It is difficult to translate that song.
For those who don't understand, and I didn't either when I first heard it.
Mother Russia gave birth to and raised a son who, on a whim, decided to drag the whole country into war.
Lukashenko gave the tractor to Putin for his birthday.
The song refers to any dictator and reveals their true nature and willingness to sacrifice people's lives for their own ego.
A powerful song and a powerful message.
Maybe it’s a bit random, but I really wonder if the word “Crocodile” is referring to being cold blooded 🤔.. instead of being too on the nose with “Cold blooded psychopath” they used “Crocodile psychopath”. One thing is for sure, this year will be interesting and a tough battle with many amazing performances 🎶
This phrase is not used in Croatian, but "krokodilske suze" ("chrocodile's tears") are indeed reffering to falsely moaning someone else's misery and being cold blooded underneath, but pretending to care and love.
one google search later:
apparently chrocodile "cries" when swallowing it's pray because.. ..biology.. (not because its sad, obviously) so thats the origin of that phrase.
@@bvivan1690 thanks for the information! 😊 knew those Crocodile facts, but was wondering why they specifically went with “Crocodile”. It does makes sense with the rest of the song. Just thought that Crocodiles and certain leaders would have being cold blooded in common, but the biological description suits the theme of the song as well. LET 3 does much more crazy stuff than this
In Croatia we often use word "crocodile" as something big. Like when I was crying when I was a kid, my dad said I was crying crocodile tears, or "big" tears
Meaning of the song:
The lead singer is dressed as the Soviet leader Stalin
The drag outfits criticise the poor treatment of LGBT+ people in Russia
The outfits also symbolize how many dictators are ''macho'' on the outside but eccentric on the inside
''Mom bought a tractor'' = Lukashenko (Belarus president) gave Putin a tractor for his 70th birthday
''Mom loved a m*ron'' = ''Mom'' (Mother Russia) loved its president
''That little psychop*th'' = Russian president
''Crocodile psychop*th'' = ''Krokodil'' (Crocodile) is a drug popular in Russia that makes people act like zombies
''Njinle'' which is written on the forehead of the bald missle guy = anagram of ''Lenin''
''Pajču'' which is written on one rocket = anagram of ''Čupaj'' (to pull out), which is opposite of ''Put in''

Bald dude has his name writen on his forehead - Njinle (Lenin)
@@whowhy9108 Guys from Let 3 said that this is anti-war song againts Putin and everyone else (leaders from west and China) that want war and destruction.
NJINLE = LENIN
on the rocket it says PAJČU = shoot
the song is anti-war, it describes the situation in Europe and advocates for peace and spreading love, the costumes describe dictators who aimlessly lead the world into ruin, the song has a strong message
Croatia is the best and should win 🇭🇷ŠČ❤️
listen to that song more than once and it will get into your ear
Drag queen in the back Jovanka Broztitutka ❤
SHORT EXPLANATION -Song is in Croatian but it has a Russian accent, like if Croatian tryed to sing in Russian. Meaning of words is : Mama (Motherland) bought a Tractor (Belorussia has national pride about tractor industry). ŠČ is Russian letter writen in Croatian latinic alphabet, and it also sounds like angry coachman or shepard signaling an stubborn animal to move (Refference to latinic Z letter used on tanks). Traina-nina - Croatian paesant sing along refren from old times. Armagedon nona - armagedon granny (Soviet Union is granny of today Motherland). Mama ljubila morona - Motherland loves a moron (in broken Croatian with Russian accent). That little psychopath, little vicious psychopath - in soft but firm voice and eye makeup like in old movie Great Dictator by Charlie Chaplin (Hitler), parody of Stalin. Crocodilish psychopath (maybe crocodile -a hard drug used in exSoviet states). Trn Trnn Trnn - sound of tractor from popular Russian children song based on Baby Shark but about family of tractors not sharks. Mama im going to war (obvious). *Guy holding two rockets dressed like east christian church monk, rockets are named PAJČU & NJINLE meaning Čupaj (pull hard) and Lenjin (Soviet revolutionar). Song portrays backward mentality of those in favor of Ukraine agrresion, often overlooked and hard to explain in words, but LET3 was created in communist Yugoslavia just before its collapse so it has deep understanding of dark side of ideology and moral decade.
ahahaha it's SH-CH (SHoe-CHeese), it's how one of the letters of the Russian alphabet is pronounced, and I think it's "Maria Zakharova" dancing on the screen. Her RL wedding photos (her husband licking her neck with framed Putin's photo behind them, etc.) are way more bizarre than this performance. Also, I am pleasantly surprised and grateful every time I see Let 3 wearing any kind of clothes, they usually perform completely naked plus they are very, very hairy :( ŠČ!
This group has been doing perfect performances for years on various hot topics in their country and all over the world... the song is intended for all idiots who send their own and other people's children to war... idiots who sow hatred in young people... Europe is ready to slap itself. true?!?!Let3 BRAVOOO!
Hrvatska!!🥳👍👍ŠČ!
it's an absolute masterpiece for sure, you'll se on ESC23 :D
My text on Croatian Wikipedia about the song:
Mom ŠČ! is a song by the rock-punk group Let 3, which won at Dora 2023 held on February 11, 2023 in Opatija. The song will therefore represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. According to the authors of more than 100 reactions to the song published so far on RUclips, the song is amazing - a spontaneous, organic and compact amalgam of metal-rock, children's rhyme, punk, classical opera, psychedelic music, march(ing), slet (mass games) music, with a clear reminiscence of chaotic Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, with elements of pop and even dance music.
It is already clear that it is the most original song of this year's Eurovision Song Contest, and one of the most original Eurovision songs in general. According to the comments of numerous listeners on RUclips, it is an art song with a strong message, but also a parody. Let 3 complemented the ingeniously composed music with great choreography and stage performances, so many commentators on RUclips point out that it is immediately clear that this is an original masterpiece, which will undoubtedly be noticed and remain prominent in the annals of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The words of the song are cryptic, and they mention the mom who bought a tractor, the mom who a moron, a small vile psychopath, armageddon-nona (grandmother), and they end-up with the line: "mom, I'm going to war". The meaning of the word "ŠČ", which is repeated after each verse, is particularly mysterious. The song is intentionally allusive (because Eurovision songs must not have any political message), and has a fluent meaning. Her interpretation is greatly helped by the fact that the main vocalist, Frlja, with make-up resembles Hitler from Chaplin's "The Great Dictator", but also wears a Stalin`s mustache, and it is clear that this is a parody of all the "little vile psychopaths, crocodile psychopaths" who push humanity into nuclear war ("armageddon"), symbolized by missiles carried by a bald man with the word "Njinle" (an anagram of Lenin) written on his forehead, although he is actually dressed as Rasputin, which represents an additional transition of meaning and performance into the surreal and the counter - reasonable.
The tractor mentioned at the beginning of the song probably refers to the tractor that Belarusian president Lukashenko bizarrely gave as a present to the Russian president Putin for his 70th birthday, and which - given that Russia finances Belarus - Russia bought to itself.
The word "mother" (which bought a tractor) therefore means Mother Russia , and it is also symbolized by the double voice, i.e. the letter ŠČ, for which there is a special sign in the Russian alphabet (Щ).
"Mama ŠČ" therefore means Mother Russia, although the song is not anti-Russian, but anti-war, because it "trolls" i.e. mocks and/or ironizes (with make-up, costumes, choreography, words and music) all those (both Hitler and Stalin) who, for the sake of the pleasure of their own domination, turn the world into a private playground of war, the price of which must be paid by the "little man".
The words "moron" and "psychopath" are therefore based on all those who start wars, as the co-author of Mrle confirmed in his interview on February 16 on Bosnian television, and not only on Putin, as stated in most media, although the allusion to him is perhaps clearer than others.
The song immediately delighted the majority of the audience, and won overwhelmingly at Dora, although there are also those who react negatively to it, so it is clear that it does not leave anyone indifferent. This was obviously the intention of the authors, more than winning the competition.
Despite this, some "Mama ŠČ!" already see as the winner of the competition, which largely coincides with the bookmakers' predictions.
WIWIBLOGGS, a specialized portal for Eurovision, has published the results of its poll on the favorites among the 15 songs selected so far. The first place was taken by Let 3 and their song "Mama ŠČ!".
31,437 people participated in the survey, and “Mama ŠČ!” won the first place with incredible 53.99% of votes (16,974 votes).

Hi from Croatia, here we love them, our national treasures.
Song about anti war and Putin. This is soo good.
Like you read Kafka for the first time, you thinking wtf is that? Second time and after....we are going to win, it is masterpeace!👍
Pedro, kudos to you for liking it even without having slightest clue what it's about :) Sure you do by now of course. I'm Croatian and didn't get half of the clues first time, but was sure this was going to win. And just today I'm finding this out: Č - 4th letter of Croatian alphabet. Š - 25th letter. 4+25=29, which is Z!
The best song ever that is going to present Croatia in Eurosong
Eurosong is not ready for Let 3, you will never be, but they are good guys always have criticize domectic and global events trough their rock music. Love them cause lots of their songs made lots of fun and smile :)
Ne, bolje srceparajuce balade o ljubavi😂🤣
MASTERPIECE
Copypasted from a guy who explained it best:
Tractor is a reference to Lukashenko's birthday present to Putin. In the song Putin is described as a "vile little psychopath", the vocalist represents Stalin, and the guy with rockets has NINLE on his forhead (wordplay:Nin-Le=Lenin). Mama ŠČ is a metaphor for Mother Russia, and crocodile is a drug popular in Russia that makes people act like zombies.
The meaning of the lyrics is kinda obvious now:
"Mama (meaning Russia) loved a moron (meaning Putin)"
"That little psychopath (W-w-war, war)
Little, vicious psychopath (W-w-war, war)
Crocodile psychopath (W-w-war, war)
Mama, I'm going to war"
The whole thing is trolling Putin level 10000000.
And now something completely ŠČ
Butt roses are great detail. They are so nut that it makes it masterpice.
When you said: I hope his wearing something,.....Pedro I 🤣 , you are the best 😘🇭🇷
I think that the letters ŠČ (shch) are an abbreviation of the word Šupčina, which means asshole. I think that the words of the song mock the whole meaning of war and all world trends and worldviews novadays
Its performance showing how war, any war is stupid, unecessary and scary. We are against any war, ever! Long live the Peace!
Explanation of the song and lyrics
"ŠČ (Russian Щ) song Let3 about Putin's ('Mother') Russia, is the most appropriate aesthetic-musical Croatian response for the Eurovision Song Contest to the ongoing Russian aggression. Let's decipher the text a bit. 'Mom' is constantly repeated in the song: 'Mom bought a tractor, Mom kissed a moron' ... 'Mama' as Mother Russia, and Белару́с (Belarus) is otherwise a tractor model...
Mother Russia (sub)bought tractor (Belarus) from which aggression was also launched, and from which evil also spreads (similarly for years 'buy' whoever they can... By the way, Putin recently received a tractor from Lukashenko for his birthday). In short, Mother Russia loves a moron - Putin - a small crocodile psychopath, who threatens armageddon, for which the little man goes to war.
Let 3 is the only one on the Croatian scene who sang in a symbolic-sarcastic way the Russian aggression that shapes the destiny of Europe.
Recently, in one of the interviews, when they appeared in a TV studio with rockets that read 'Lenin', they stated that Putin is "an example of arrogance who thinks the planet is his toy." That's what the band from the left spectrum says while many others are silent!
"We want to send a message to those who think the planet is their toy and manage everyone like puppets, and at this point Putin is a prominent model of that style, so it's our turn to dedicate a song to him," Let 3 said.
Btw guys, at 6:46 Njinle means Lenin (Vladimir).
Yessss!!!!! This is a parody, which of course you jerks won't understand.
Mamma/ Russa, Little Psyho/ Putin, Crocodil/drug used in Russia/tractor/gift from Lukaschenko...........
Pedro where do you live? It seems you don't understand anything.🤦♀️It's a fantastic parody of Putin and all the other Russian dictators they had in the past!
150.000 bravo
THIS IS MASTERPIECE
