Got my harness from ya. Looking forward to doing the job. 1 thing You mentioned those clips come with it? I didn’t receive any clips ? No longer included maybe?
Wow marina grade wiring. I bet you are the only one re fitting Airstream's using quality like that..... top marks. My yacht is 1977, sailed the Atlantic both way's (UK) with the previous owner, still on the original marine grade wiring, no issues after all that time.
May not be the only one but it is top of the line. I also have a big spool of 110v stranded Marine grade too. Certainly not as cheap as romex but much better!
I'm about to do my 7 pin wiring for my 31ft excella and i was wanting to run 10 ga wiring from the brakes to the harness but i cannot find a loom that has 10ga wiring for the brakes (most i see are 12ga). Im guessing its a bad idea to go from 12 ga coming from the loom to 10ga going to the brakes?
Awesome video Ian, thanks for doing this! I'm still a bit confused about the rear of the trailer though, as the diagram on Airforums you referenced is a little different to my 1976 setup. I basically have the same model as the Opus coffee shop you did. Can you PLEASEEEE clarify which wires go where...? Also before that, need to clarify that "brake light" and "stop light" is the same thing (?) and "running light" and "tail light" is also the same thing? Oh and "backup lights" is the same as "reverse lights". Bear with me........ To confirm: GREEN goes to ---> front (amber) marker lights, side (amber) marker lights, rear (red) marker lights, license plate light and.........I'm confused about my stop/turn/tail light assembly. There are 4 lights in the assembly, and I can't really remember what they do! Could you tell me which colours go to where? On my rear light assembly, working from the outside of the assembly in towards the license plate, there is: 1. Rectangular red marker light (GREEN cable?) 2. Square red lens (turn signal?) 3. Square red lens with clear window (reverse/backup light?) 4. Square red lens (brake/stop light?). Does this also serve as the running light? I understand that the RED cable goes to left turn, BROWN to right turn, YELLOW to reverse light, but what about the GREEN? It connects to all of the marker lights plus which lights in the stop/turn/tail assembly? Sorry man electrical is not my strong suit...! Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks man it's @_silvermagicship_ here! PS. Do you ship to Canada?
Some of these wiring diagrams show separate ground wires running to each light. My lights have only one wire running off of them. Are they grounded inside the light housing?
where do you ground this lighting system? I've read grounding the system is the most crucial part of lighting system? Also do LED lights wire any different than standard bulb lights?
The ground lug in your 7 pin distribution needs a 10 gauge wire that goes from that to the frame for your chassis ground. Then most lights ground directly to the shell, same with LEDs. Yes, grounding is very important.
i live in dfw ( by rockwall) and will be rebuilding the 5 spartan trailers my parents have to use as vacation rentals in new mexico. Didn't know if you'd be willing to meet up and let me pick your brain on a few things.
Ok, thank for the feedback. I try to edit to where on my computer it sounds right at 50% speaker volume. I need to listen on other computers and adjust.
Another great video...believe you are the first to do a 7pin walkthrough. Awesome.
Thanks! I sure had trouble finding info on it for the first project.
Thanks for the shout out! I’m about to get this all installed!

Yes Sir, Ian great video, so glad you took this on for us and are making it happen! Marine grade wiring! Bonus. Thanks
For sure! I am loving the project!
Is there a part 2...? I need way more detailed info about the whole electrical portion of this gig. But appreciated this video regardless.

Thanks for the great content! Wiren is not my strong suit.
I think I'm gonna need one of those harnesses, for sure!
We can at least do the distribution box and get all that right, we would have to pull interior and skins to do a full harness replacement.
@@MillerGarage absolutely, all I need to do is button up the electrical in the front of the Airstream, not ready to do a complete restoration yet.
So is there no need for a fuse box in between? I was told with modern trucks its not needed.
Awesome information! What did you use for sealant on the inside seams?

I sent in an order for a harness but am not sure you received it. Please let me know if it did not come through. Thank you.

I ground the lights to the shell if they have 2 wires. Most new LED lights have the ground strap come off and the has a ring on the screw hole.
DO you take P-Card?

How much are the harnesses?
Start at $279 - www.millergarageairstreams.com/product-page/7-pin-wiring-harness
Are you still doing the harnesses? I sent you an email
i think all your videos are great but but you always have low volume.

@@MillerGarage I am currently restoring a 1976 Airstream Soveriegn from the ground up. Following all your builds closely.
