Spurs 39-15 Run vs. Heat (2014 Finals Game 5, Duncan wins 5th Championship)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 июн 2014
- The Spurs used a 39-15 first half run to turn a 16 point deficit into an 8 point lead just before halftime. The Spurs would balloon the lead to 22 in the 3rd quarter as they coasted to the title in the 2nd half.
The Spurs won 104-87 to defeat LeBron James and the Miami Heat 4-1, avenging their 7 game defeat to Miami in last year's Finals.
No lead is safe when you play against the Spurs. Спорт
When Manu dunked on the entire Heat team, they had to have known, 'yeah, we're done'. Lol.
My single favorite play in NBA history.....
oh hell yeah! He sliced through their whole team for that dunk! All 5 defenders. Just an amazing, amazing play....and yes, the sign that the Heat were cooked. Ginobili!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spurs had so many floor generals on this team that could slice defenses methodically and play defense.
Left handed too!!
@@chriscoccagna5917 how can it be your favorite if you don't even remember it?
Anyone else watching this in 2020 missing when the Spurs were this good? 😭
Update: now 2021 😭😭
Update: now 2022 😭😭😭
Update: now 2023 😭😭😭😭
Update: We got Wemby, but now 2024 😭😭😭😭😭
Me
LeBron got choke
@Thomas Sankara - agree. I am a massive Spurs homer, but don't understand all the hate LeBron gets (and I don't like him, i just appreciate his greatness) - also, when Spurs fans say LeBron choked or sucked in that series, they are taking away the fantastic performance we had in that final. The heat were great, we were just greater.
Yup
Rene May yes.... I am.... I’m just glad we have 5 NBA championship titles. I will say that 2013 still does haunt me. But hey, that just made 2014 the year of reckoning for the San Antonio Spurs. They knew it. They were hungry for that championship win.
What's more amazing this is Duncan at 38, parker at 33, ginobli at 37. Literally those 3 are fighting defeating father time.
with some Kawhi help
38 Duncan still winning championships while 34 LeFAKEgoat can't even get to playoffs
Cepheus lakers were 20-14 and 4.5 games out of the first seed before all the injuries. have a seat
Muhammed Al Boo Boo acting like 20-14 is a record 😂😂
Yung Savage your name is yung savage lmao
Ginobili's dunk in this game has to rank among the best old guy dunks ever.
Max Pankau YES! That dunk and how the announcer reacted to it were GREAT!
Was a frustration dunk 😂 I remember how pissed he was on the foul call before he threw that down
Ginobli going OLD TESTAMENT on dat Azz
+Max Pankau Is among the best dunks ever. Period. Ginobili is not "old", is a Highlander !
I think Ray Allen had a dunk in this series too.
I honestly think Ginobili is one of the greatest passers in the NBA's history
😂
He's the best passing 2 guard I've ever seen. And my fav athlete ever lol
***** "One of"
No he's not lmao.
Easily one of the best passers ever. Watch his best passes they're super nice. He's definetly one of the most underrated passers of all time
ginobili saved tha game... 22 - 6 when he came in
It's only fair, he was the reason they lost 2013...
hows that?
He had probably the all-time worst series ever. Look at his numbers and they're actually better than they look. He has terrible passes, bad lapses on O and D, and some of the worst shot selection of his career. It's widely said if he played even an average playoff series for him, Spurs win in 6. If I remember he publicly apologized to the team after the series was over.
Fair enough, good reply. I didnt really remember that part of the finals for some reason.
+TheFrankman technically, it was Kawhi, Manu and Coach Pop's fault they lose game 6... If Coach Pop didn't take out Tim Duncan in the possession where Lebron hits a 3 to cut the lead to 2 or the Bosh rebound back out to Allen for 3 to tie the game... Manu and Kawhi also missed clutch free throws down the stretch on that game... Parker was the only clutch player during that game, hitting clutch 3 to tie the game at 89 and then that beautiful spin move that puts them up 2
And that's why Ginobili is one of the best 6th. man in NBA history. What a game changing performance, force of will for the ages.. eheh
Not better than Odom
@@supersaiyanbuda lmao you serious
@@supersaiyanbuda lmao that was funny. As good as Odom was he was nowhere near Ginobili.
@Nick Valensi - He was the best 6th man in history with no one coming close. 4 rings my guy, you can't beat that.
Kuroko is the best phantom sixth man
Whenever the spurs lose hope, they always give it to Manu.
and that's why Manu Ginobili is so special.
"He's Manu Ginobili" - Gregg Popovich
Pop would always say " No Manu, No chance"
@@greenderp
And Chuck would say......GINOBLIIIIII!
Yet people like gilbert arenas think Jamal Crawford was better then manu lol. Pls show me of crawford doing this in the post season ? No
@@tj5180Gilbert Arenas is a idiot. He’s the same idiot who brought in guns into a locker room and threaten to shoot his gangbanging teammate, Javaris Crittenton to pick one so he shoot one with his own.
Ginobili won us this game.
@asian dudeidk bro maybe cause we caught up when he entered the game or some shit
@asian dude watch the game
@asian dude don't ask questions then
After manu had that dunk you knew it was over for the heat
I knew it once Leonard hit the go ahead 3. I think even the Heat knew it at that point. The Ginobili dunk was the final confirmation, though.
Spurs haven't done anything since then other than lose in the playoffs. At least Miami is built for the future. San Antonio's time at the top is coming to an end
Trevor Perkins we're not talking about since 99. We're talking about since this game
Andrew Pestotnik doesn't matter, when have the heat been relevant ever since LeBron left?
Orlando Moreno 2016. We almost went to the ECF and would've pushed Cleveland
i cant believe that a 37 years old bold guy made that dunk , and then that 3, in the finals... amazing... hard to believe
Not when its Manu
bald and bold!
dartvader158 but you forgot Ginobli was a hooper lol. LEFT HAND GANG
Manu Ginobli walked so Alex Caruso could run
Like we say here in Brazil, the older the pan, the better the food
One of the greatest revenge games in nba history. GSG
Man, after 5 years, that dunk from Manu is still my favorite NBA moment ever.
I forgot about that Ginobili dunk at 4:00. That really caught me by surprise.
He was pissed off. If u remember on the play before he got knocked down and after that he slammed it then got that step back 3 and then caught fire.
***** Yeah man for real.
LakersDynasty42 This year was gold man. They showed everybody how its done. One of the greatest teams ever. Half of the team is going HOF.
Totally agree. My favorite roster since the 80s was that 2013-2014 team. Watching that game was magic. Just wished I could've been watching it from the arena. lol
I always say that's when I knew this game was over with
This team is truly remarkable with their selflessness, team work, overcoming adversity and chemistry. This team has to go down with those Bulls of the 90's and early 200's lakers as a dominate force that nothing can stop. The most amazing thing to me was how they overcame adversity after the demoralizing loss in finals and how Ginobli came back better then ever. This team is a true testament to the leadership of Pop, Ducan, Parker and Ginobli. I don't think any other current nba team would of recovered from last year much less dominate the finals pretty much from start to finish. Not a spurs fan but everyone can learn from this team.
Aaron Gibson man,i was really frustrated by manu's 2012 plays. I was so happy when he stated the next season in such a great form. As Pop said in many occasions: He's the ultimate competitor...
Looking back its fitting the spurs took out the heat dynasty and ended it....they did the same to the 2003 shaq Kobe Phil jackson lakers...they were the only ones capable otherwise miami may still be winning titles....they had title needed experience ..they were ready for it..they had lost in a sweep in the 2nd round in 2010 a first round 1-8 upset in 2011 to rival grizz after being up 2-1 and losing the 2012 western finals up 2-0 to rival thunder and 2013 nba finals up 3-2 to rival heat ...not to mention losing 4-1 in 2008 in the conference finals to rival lakers losing in 2009 4-1 to rival maverick in round 1 and losing in 2010 4-0 to rival suns ...the spurs had done a lot of losing to rival teams the past 6 years in every round...in every possible series imaginable...up down aside... Mental toughness was there...they since have lost brutally in 7 games to rival clippers at the end of the game ...lost in 6 to rival okc after being up 2-1 ..losing to rival gsw in a sweep lol....they lose a lot now...they have again lost in every round every way lol...that's how they have been since 2008...
Ginobili started it all, what a player
Ginobili's wife: if you win this game ill let you choose a friend of mine to join..
Ginobili: bet
No 69 now

Not a spurs fan but loved the butt kicking they gave the heat.

heat's big three admitted that spurs was on a different level that game
Jamal Greasy no the spurs where on a different level
4:00 When Ginobili dunked on entire Heat team you knew championship was Spurs
Manu Ginobili is LEGENDARY. There aren't many players as clutch and amazing to watch as he was
Duncan won chips in 3 different decades. Fundamentals
I will forever miss this spurs team. The spurs Had that old school no I in ream kind of game
Team*
I remember watching this live and thinking this is the greatest and most satisfying display of team basketball I have ever seen. And it never gets old. (Life long bulls fan grew up in the Jordan era)
I tell people this all the time. Best team ball i've ever seen played.
After that horrible heartbreaking loss the previous year before, this series was nothing more than pure revenge/redemption for the Spurs
I feel like people forget that this final was also won by superb performances from Diaw, Green, Mills
After the dunk by Manu, you could tell everybody, including both teams, knew the series was over.
Manu is definitly one of the guys that most leave his heart out on the floor
No matter what team or player you love, no matter what Era of basketball you watched or grew up with, you have to admire that 2014 Spurs team and what they did in the reg season and playoffs. It was a masterpiece through and through of teamwork, ball movement, and defense that still gives me goosebumps to watch. The most beautiful basketball I've ever seen that still hasn't been matched. I'm not talking about Individuals taking over games or 1-2 punch teams where both superstars took over like klay and steph or kobe and Shaq etc, I talking masterpiece by the entire roster, role players obviously included.
I remember being downtown SA at the grand hyatt watch party, I remember the vibe was low with the early run by miami and RIGHT AFTER that dunk by ginobili... this overriding feeling came over all of us that we were winning that championship TONIGHT. it was fucking amazing, spurs dominated that series
This still gives me goosebumps.
The chemistry of this team has never been seen before
Manu was so damn competitive! He refused to let the Spurs lose so many times!
that ginobilli dunk brought the house down!
it basically ended the game.
Everyone had the heat as the superior team going in into the finals and the spurs annihilated them
You can't deserve an NBA title as much as the 2013-2014 San Antonio Spurs did. Night in Night out they just never gave up while trailing in a game. After a loss, failure gave em strength. Even if they went down 3-1 against the Mavs in the first round or couldn't close RefKC out in Game 6. There was no stopping em. BTW, if the Heat 3-peated, the NBA would have died. The 2012 and 2013 titles were the most undeserved in NBA History. The 2013 one was set up. Thank you 2013-2014 San Antonio Spurs for saving the NBA.
I hear ya on that! The Cryami Heat are done!
ok the spurs suck and they shouldnt of won
if your such a fan then list the whole roster up and down oh and i bet your also a bandwagon for them because they beat the heat in the finals oh and good job winning the 2013 finals
Have you tried some ointment for that butthurt, Kevin?
Kevin Tracey
Shouldn't have won? Well they did, and they did it in spetacualr fashion that no other team can. Accept it or crawl back into your blankets crying to LBJ.
i dont like lebrat.
This game illustrates perfectly how important Ginobili was for those Spurs teams. Absolutely momentum changer
Duncan 5 time NBA Champ, Ginobli and Parker 4 time NBA Champs
All 3 of the HOF
I miss this Spurs lineup. 😢
Came here after The Last Dance, even with a SuperTeam Lebron loses Finals, comparing him to MJ is just plain stupid. Undisputed GOAT Michael Jordan
I freaking loved how much these 3 fed off each other. Duncan pumped about Ginobili dunk. Ginobili pumped that Duncan n Parker pumped. Starts raining 3s. I watched this live and i was in honest tears i was so happy for them. I miss the guys like crazy.
i know its sounds crazy, but this 2014 spurs teans might be the best of all time
NBANewGeneration they might have all been past their prime besides Kawhi, but their teamwork was incredible
They got pushed to 7 games by Top 10 worst defense in the 1st round, and probably would have lost that series if not for Dejuan Blair kicking Splitter in the head in Game 4..
tipiforcornholio But destroyed a stacked miami team 4 games to 1 with lebron averaging nearly 30 points
Joe Vaughn yeah the way they played was the reason they won. Best coach ever
tim duncan was a 87 overall and ginobili was a 86 overall and Parker was a 86 overall and kawhi was a 83 overall.
Olympic Manu showed up in this game
I always come back to this video once in a while just to get another smile out of my day. I was 11, graduating elementary school when the spurs won this championship and now im about to turn 20 wishing life was as good as it was back then in 2014. #GoSpursGo
Same, but I'm a year older than you First time I've seen a serious Lebron beatdown
4.00 what a move by Manu OMG !!! Really miss that good time.
That game was a massacre
The whole series was
with manu in court the spurs RULES...!!!
GINOBILI...!!! NUMBER 20.

3 years later and it’s still the best.
San Antonio should have won against the Heat the previous year as well
The Heat have gone coold. GINOBILI ON THE FINISH!!! FLUSHES it with the left hand.

@@anthonyhill7286 no lmao.. within the next 2 seasons they have an amazing back court of Lonnie walker, derrick white and dejounte. they aint going no where
Clearly 2013 motivated that spurs team to come back and beat this same Heat team. And beat them so bad Lebron gave up in the heat. I think is this where Kawhi’s stardom was born.
the league owes Manu a FMVP
In 2007 not 14

MIA 35 - SA 37 | MIA 37 - SA 45 >>>> GINOBILI's SHOW, game over
That Spurs Team was absolutely dominant on offense and defense. The Heat had great team led by LeBron but Spolstra got out coached and got out played.
Back when Warriors bandwagon is on the Heat bandwagon
And Cavs fans lol
This Spurs team was special
4:00 the moment I knew the series was over. When Manu was hot, the Spurs were unstoppable
I was there. Never forget. 💞 Got to watch the Spurs win the championship live with my dad on father's day.
When it mattered most...manu couldn’t miss!
manu still had last year's finals in his head. So he was out to redeem himself.
Who’s watching in 2020 😪
Man, until now, I still remember my emotion in front the TV. THIS IS AWESOME!!!
Man I miss this spurs team I’ve always been a fan of the spurs for the longest..Duncan don’t get enough credit dude was one ray allen 3 pointer away from going 6-0 in the finals !!
No player in NBA history commanded more respect by his peers than Tim Duncan....a true legend
Ginobili got the lead, Patty Mills kept it. I remember.
I remeber watching this series this was the first full finals I ever watched and it was the best to me. I miss this NBA why isn't it like this anymore😭
I was at this game! It was amazing. I was sitting next to a guy who flew from Australia to watch them!! So many HOF players and coaches there that night. Duncan beats LeBron!! Redemption!
4:00 one of the best posters and commentator calls ever!
Still can't believe this team is no longer together. Something just don't last forever
Ginobili was amazing
It's crazy to think how this game was the end of an era. The end of the big 3 in Miami and the end of the spurs championship dominance. The next year is the start of the warriors dynasty
Folks keep saying that harden is the most difficult player to stop but I think they forgot all about Ginobili and how crafty this dude was
RUclips recommended after Cyborg Kawhi dropped 36 on warriors... Skynet is preparing judgement day.
That was such a perfect team.. And that was a perfect team for Kawhi
everyone talks about the dunk but that reverse to force the timeout 😂😂😂😂 Manu funny asf !!!!
I really hope this spurs team doesn’t get forgotten being sandwiched between the heat and warriors, this team was beautiful to watch they should have gone back to back if not for a miracle Allen 3
Manu fkn Ginobili!!!
And they said they were too old.
Sean McBride they were Miami just choked
Choked? Lol. No just embarrassed
The heat were old too. And injured tbh.
@@TheMrKobeBryant2012 You're stupid af, the Heat had the older roster.
Xanninja Miami’s main guys were younger than the Spurs main guys that was def an upset
This is where Kawhi’s confidence started and showed. How Manu and Parker were underrated is baffling!
Manu’s dunk though!
Manu was the secret, not that secret weapon of the Spurs. Game changer as always.
GINOBLI ON THE FINISH!!
if Ginobili played as a spurs starting point guard, he could have been on a Magic Johnson level... just me
Pop talked about it a couple of times...Manu was the x factor and botjñh agreed on that.
I know that this is slightly off topic but that sign that said, "Hey LeBron, have cramps?" was hilarious 😂 trash talking by fans at its finest
Leonard won the MVP this finals. But to be fair, I think Manu contributed more than Leonard. He was clutch, he carried the team every game they were losing momentum. Every time Manu stepped in the court, the whole team finished with + differential. That tells you how influential Manu was.
The Warriors watched the film of this finals that whole summer
Manu was something to behold!
This game broke my heart Heat was doing so gud at the 1st q then bang 4-1 this game crippled a great organization for years man 😕
This Spurs team is absolutely godlike. Tons of smooth passing, always getting the guy who's most open to take the shot, and in fact, they are probably the most ethnically diverse team in all the NBA. Also, celebrating humbly rather than too open. Honestly, no matter which team one supports, can't really hate the spurs
I miss the Spurs dynasty😪😭☝️😎👍
ginobili remonto el partido que habia comenzado dificil y como frutilla del postre se la clavo en la cara a bosh!!
I miss the Spurs in the Finals... and we started this barrage of 3 point games in the NBA.
