- Doing IEMs, FOH, and Broadcast live to web for Super Duper Kyle at the LA Clippers half time show! And to be very clear, during soundcheck the house engineer Dustin saved the day, I hope it doesn’t come across like I was talking smack. Everything happened very fast and he acted fast to fix it since the IEM transmitters were in his room, and not mine. Great job!
And to be very clear I was happy that the house engineer in the other room adjusted the IEM sensitivity for me since I couldn’t see it myself. He saved the day on that one!! I was not talking smack about Dustin, he’s the man.
Dig the vlog, man! Recently became the head of the audio department at my church and I love watching people at a much higher level do what I am trying to do :)

2:10, is that sound the Musician and you are hearing, because it sounds really good.
yes that was ashanti's iem mix. i didnt multitrack record that show only my cue mix which was listening to her mix at the time of the video. DPA mic helped a lot, they sound amazing on female voices.
Came to rewatch this again Grunie and Emmanuel Howell Griffin were praising ur mixes on Grunies show did not know he did a few things with Kyle. You should come on his show or something could be cool its a chill stream
George Thompson somethings in the works!
Wait is Polaris the recording studio or the production company which you guys are part of or both.
George Thompson Polaris was a recording studio for 50 years and is no longer open. There was also Polaris productions which was/is Joe’s company.
Do you have a console that you like best live do you like these avids over digico I know you used one of the big ones with post malone
George Thompson my favorite desk is the Digico SD (family) with Avid S6L systems as my 2nd favorite choice. Both have their strengths.
Your vlog makes me even more excited to learn live sound mixing. Btw, I'm studying live sound mixing at SAE Jakarta. Make more vlogs bro !!!!!
Im studying at SAE Dubai bro!

u think its logic i can compress more and still retain tone while performing with digital compressors like cla 2a or lesuire more than a rnc or dbx analog compressors in monitors on vocal channel ??
I’m not sure I fully understand the question but I only compress vocals when absolutely necessary in monitor land. The wedge vocals usually just get an “oh shit!” limiter tho, nothing else. For IEMs it’s preference of artist and i use what ever I have available. Usually just the consoles onboard processing since avid and DiGiCo have great options.
Holy shit. Ashanti and Ja Rule? They're still.......existing? Not throwing shade I'm just not keeping up with acts like them. Thanks for posting this bro it's extremely interesting.
