I don't know why they changed this song on the album version. Darroh's screams are much more brutal here, and his vocal phrasing is better throughout. Still awesome either way though.
Never noticed the accent disappeared on the album version!!
Demos are always to be cherished. Doesn't matter what band it is. This version is sick.
Saw these guys last night. One of the best live bands I have ever seen. His voice and energy is uncanny.
I remember seeing them perform this song live, fucking mind blowing. Darroh's lips were bleeding from being beat against the microphone repeatedly, and when he said the final, "RRRRICKI!!!" blood flew everywhere. It was both disgusting and hardcore. More of the latter than the former, I would say.
He actually a pretty cool dude, they come to Iowa about twice a year. Ive seen them 3 times. Last time talked to him for about 15 mins. He just chills out in the crowd before the show. Most people dont know who he is so you can just go up to him and pick up a convo with him.
Hes fucking crazy on stage as well.
Fair To Midland is set to release their fourth studio album, "Arrows & Anchors", on June 7th, 2011. The album is being released via the E1 Music label.
thats what makes the show so awesome, he acts so shy all the times then goes BALLS OUT on stage... kick ass! lol

to be completely honest, i never heard of these guys till recently. I saw them with Karnivool (who was amazing live)...then FTM went on and i just kinda froze. The singer is nuts! Great stage presence, insane vocal range, these guys fuckin rock! Can't stop listening to this song!
Had the privilege of seeing these guys live before they disbanded. A shame they had to break up. Miss em

@Sapenti They're not technically "from" Dallas, Texas. That's just where most of their fandom is and they're recording there. They're technically from Sulfur Springs, Texas.
Just saw them yesterday, HOLY HELL they put on an awesome show. Darroh was hanging upside-down over the crowd while singing. If you get a chance to see them live do NOT pass it up.

Of course, but when explaning to someone that hasn't heard of them before, it's easier to say Dallas. Most people don't know where Sulphur Springs is.
When asked, they themselves say Dallas.

I love this version much more than the other. Don't get me wrong, the other is good, but this one, I fell in love with. So naturally I would love it more.
Possibly the best band to see live. (as themselves, they're the most entertaining. Without lights and tricks)

This version is way easier to understand lyrics-wise. But, he probably canned it cuz its slower paced and he sounds kinda pop star-esque

@LOLERSKATEZZZ I worked at a haunted forest for a couple years. The main way I would scare people was by chasing after them doing really high pitched metal vocals.

Definitely one of the best track of the new tracks; it's really fun to try to sing along with, but the pitch changes sure are killer. Few vocalists can pull this stuff off. Andrew sure has a set of pipes on him still and i am very glad to hear that he is choosing to use 'em.

i'm ashamed to admit that i downloaded ftm's stuff, but i feel bad because i didnt realise they werent very big, but i will definately shell out my hard earned for this album and im gonna buy some merch to make up for not buying their albums because they deserve every penny they earn.

This song is so badass, probably just because I can close my eyes and see Darroh leaning over the stage pointing into the crowd and me being in the pit getting knocked around.
I agree with TtAbrams as well. I've been a fan of FTM since late '05 and I hope they enjoy all the success they deserve but I'll always enjoy the small shows they do at Curtain Club in D-town the most. :)
Yeah, but I also think that they are done with recording. If they're not, I know they're close.
But who knows.
I just saw them 2 nights ago in Pittsburgh. I feel like if the venue hadn't been so fucking small, it would have been that much more amazing. Regardless, they were fantastic.

they've been in the studio recording their new stuff these past few weeks i think...maybe a release in spring or summer of 2010?
@MsLecraefan i think the someone in the band decribed the song as a death metal band's attempt at yellow submarine.
I like the studio versions more, but didn't hear the demos until now. But I must say the screams are freaking awesome in this version!
@Sapenti I guess that would mean they were not cut out to be musicians in the first place. No real musician would stop doing what they love just because they dont have "enough fans". On the other hand, hoping they will stay "underground" is just lame. Let the people enjoy what FTM are; Pure awesomeness!
@veryboredpug lol true. just the style of scream was completely the opposite of Darrohs. Darroh's "screams" on the past two albums are, what i presume, to be a very aggressive style of throat singing. I've tried doing it, and I got pretty close to what he sounds like with minimal practice, so I'm pretty sure thats how its done. The screaming i did was internal and REALLY high pitched. Like a terrifying mutant pteranodon on acid.

I guess you don't understand that music is their livlihood and primary source of income. I didn't mean anything about fans, just about making enough money to live on. As for staying underground, look at how other bands have changes after getting huge. Metallica for instance. It's not that we don't want FTM to get huge, we just don't want their sound to change.

I was there too, man. I honestly didn't think I'd like them that much (mostly went for Scale the Summit and my friends wanted to see Periphery), but damn. Darroh just spazzed the hell out at the start of their first song, rolling around on his back and then climbing shit....
Once he climbed over the middle of the crowd and started singing upside down from the ceiling it became absolutely necessary for me to check these guys out, haha
This is one of the only songs I like that has screaming in it!
